Poor you Amber :( get well soon.

I ds' excitement at being home he spent the last 2 days pilling every single toy and tat down off shelves, out of draws etc and leaving the playroom, breakfast room and living room an absolute tip. It's taken me 2.5 hours this morning to restore the bomb sites!

I am also frustrated. I saw Gladiators wedges a while ago and can't remember where I saw them. I have tried Jimmy Choos, Manolos and drawn a blank. In the meanwhile, I have seen the balenciaga glove sling back wedges and I quite like them.

I have also seen this in my endless quest for the perfect chinos. I might have to end up getting them in the US though.

Hopefully · 06/05/2013 11:09

Novice those chinos make the model's arse look big.

Amber hope you are all recovered soon. I could use a little D&V weight loss Wink

LinusDKD · 06/05/2013 11:25

Unfortunately D&V does not result in weightloss for me. DH on the other hand (who really doesn't need to lose weight) lost 1 stone when he caught the rotavirus DS brought back from nursery and he was off work for a whole week because he was so ill.

Poor DS was so dehydrated he had to go to hospital and be put on a drip for 2 days so I sympathise santamarianovella. I hope everyone feels better soon!

Lovely dress shop! I suspect I am a winter so I don't think that shade of orange will suit me though.

Would really like to have my colours done one day but the nearest (and only) HoC consultant in my country is a 3 h drive away.
Sad

MacaYoniAndCheese · 06/05/2013 11:50

Sorry for backtracking a little (time difference...trying to catch up), but that pink Alexander McQ bag....DROOL! How gorgeous is that? I usually don't go for bags with flaps as they are annoying to open but that one has a very clever design.

I have been on a Fall buying rampage (anyone else shop off-season?), I ordered three pairs of Frye boots (both my current black and brown non-Fryes are on their last legs), a black toggle coat, and another Dooney bag (red) on Ebay. I always have a mental 'list' of things going for the season ahead so when I see deals I can snap them up and check them off. Enormously satisfying.

Hope all you sickies are feeling better soon Flowers. We've got lovely summer weather here too at the moment but it's not that unusual to have days in the high-twenties in May and then go back to mittens and coats the next day...not putting away the winter gear just yet.

Annianni · 06/05/2013 11:55

I think I might have the plague.
I was in bed by 9pm, burning hot, shivering, head felt like it was being crushed.
Had the mop bucket next to the bed, just incase.
Got about 2 hours sleep. It was hideous :(

Had another hours sleep this morning and taken some Migraleave (sp?) tablets.

I feel exhausted.

The ds's are playing in the garden, dh is playing with his bricks.

Christ knows what's wrong with me.
Hope I'm better for tomorrow, I'll need to drive my car.

That dress would look fab on you Amber
I would look rather pregnant in it though :o

I've just ordered a few maxi dresses in various colours and a long grey skirt.
I'll link when i'm awake properly.

My silver Superga should be here tomorrow, can't wait to try them.

My bikini wearing days are well and truly over :(
I've got a lovely 8 inch scar from ds2's c-section, that goes from my belly button downwards.
I had to have a section like they did in the olden days.

But I did wear tiny little bikinis before then, so I've not missed out.

I've got that jacket in navy and grey MrsR, it's lovely.
Liberty's got it, but SHE NEEDS IT IN THE OTHER COLOUR NOW :o
And I think Decameron has it too.

BrandyAlexander · 06/05/2013 12:03

Oh dear Anni, you poor thing. Get well soon to all the sick Voguettes.

Hopefully you are so right, I hadn't looked at that last picture! Good spot! The search goes on.

foxysocks · 06/05/2013 12:09

i think i'm a winter too, linus. maybe one day i'll book with hopefully and check it out for sure. DH works in exeter on a weekly basis, I could come down for the day Grin although if i lost charcoal I would actually weep. and ignore. rofl.

yoga practice done , I did it in the garden which was tricky on the grass but nice to feel the sun on my skin.

i've never spent a lot on swimwear, ever. my current bikini is quiksilver I think, bought in australia back in 2003. currently wearing the top with a pair of (extremely unstylish) red jersey billabong shorts i bought at the same time. luckily for me (and thanks to my yoga practice) my body has recovered really well from pg and childbirth, i'm planning on wearing bikinis for another decade at least.

get well soon amber and anni xx

Annianni · 06/05/2013 12:24

Get well soon Amber and QueenC

Annianni · 06/05/2013 12:45

Hopefully, do you want my neon coral nail varnish?
I've done 2 coats on my toes and I look daft. Could be because I'm so pale at the moment.

But I'll pop it in the post if you, or anyone else wants it?

It's the China Glaze flip flop fantasy.

Hopefully · 06/05/2013 12:48

Ooh yes please Anni! I'll PM you and sort out postage payment.

shopafrolic · 06/05/2013 14:01

Love this one Hopefully shop.bymalenebirger.com/gb/item/mellex-striped-cotton-skirt-q50434005/

Sleepwhenidie · 06/05/2013 14:06

Poor sick people Sad, miserable for you, especially when the weather is like this. Hope you all feel better soon.

I have escaped from London for the weekend. We are deep in the heart of Worcestershire countryside at a village fete day, absolutely perfect weather and beautiful gardens open to the public. Plenty for the kids to do and eat, it's gorgeous. Am wearing tie dyed Allsaints maxi with havs. Only have orange bucket bag which is clashing with dress but not in a good way Smile

Amber have you seen the 291 striped racerback maxi on shopbop? I pinned it a while back but haven't ordered as it is DCO. Lovely though Take a look, would link but am on phone.

shopafrolic · 06/05/2013 14:10

Anni bug sounds rotten. Are you sure it's a migraine? Doctors for you tomorrow methinks.
Took DS to a friends house where he played happily in their garden all morning. Came home to a Skype call from DH. DS' first time on Skype - a bit bewildered I think! I was going to sit outside but it's gone a bit cloudy.....
My swimwear collection is poor. I need to update for boobs that no longer hold themselves up. No idea what type to go for. Confused

shopafrolic · 06/05/2013 14:53

I've just picked up a couple of off white T by A Wang tops from the Outnet. Never tried them before so will have to see what the sizing is like on me. I was going to order some sunglasses too but think I'd prefer to try before I buy.
Sun's back out now so I'm off out into the garden.

OP posts:
MacaYoniAndCheese · 06/05/2013 14:58

shop I was WifeofPie and then whinycrabbypeople before that and about a billion others .

I have the same problem re: swimsuits. Halter necks and ruching around the top are your friends Smile. I was never particularly gifted in the boob department before kids but now...well it's just sad.

shopafrolic · 06/05/2013 15:17

Good names Maca! It's not that I don't have boobs - I'm a 32E / 34DD, it's just that they aren't as upright as they used to be! Perhaps halter necks are the answer.
In the old days pre DS I used to wear triangle bikinis with tie sides for maximum sun exposure. Think I need more arse coverage now too!

santamarianovella · 06/05/2013 16:00

maca i do that too,i ordered a by malene sweater and jacket from the outnet ,so thats 2 items crossed from my fall winter list.
shop i know that padded swimwear sound awful, but the splendid ones are very flattering,or go for underwired ones.

whats the verdict on crochet swimwear?is it a big no no?

and was it you marsha who tried the lanvin flats? how did you find the fit? i got a code from luisaviaroma and im tempted to buy one

MarshaBrady · 06/05/2013 18:03

Santa I had some last year, loved them, although probably should have taken better care of them hence they are kaput for this year.

The size is pretty good, maybe a tad small. So I am a 40 but went with a 40.5 which was great.

OneLittleLady · 06/05/2013 18:09

Get well soon everyone who is currently ill. I'm currently vomiting because of severe pain and I can't get into the doctors for more painkillers until tomorrow (they are not on repeat due to the strength and addictive properties of them) In more fashion related news, I picked up a pair of superga similar to the ones linked below but mine are a brighter pink colour

.

BrandyAlexander · 06/05/2013 19:20

Oh dear onelittlelady, get well soon!i have white crochet bikini set that I wore last week. I felt v fashionable! I am a 28E and like underwired too. I bought quite a few from Freya swimwear which looked and felt great.

QueenC, I forgot to say thanks for the tip on thomasland. Don't shop at tescos so no club card points.

santamarianovella · 06/05/2013 19:41

Thanks marsha, i really like them and thinking of getting one,and then I saw the Alexander McQueen skull flats and I'm loving them too
The luisaviaroma site is a bit slow today so will link the one at selfridges
www.selfridges.com/en/Womenswear/Categories/Shop-Accessories/Roll-leather-ballet-pumps_926-10004-2842933109/?previewAttribute=Tan
I'm in love with them at the moment.

It seems that there is a d&v bug going around, I hope everyone gets better soon.

Drywhiteplease · 06/05/2013 21:08

Lots of lovely stuff on here
Shop I love that orange dress, wonder if there are any more......
MrsR glad you like the Whistles dress, thrilled with it, but after the food I've put away this weekend at uni reunion I doubt I'll squeeze into it!!
Anni hope you're feeling better. Agree, I love living up North too, great standard of living, but for away from my southern family. When I was crossing the Pennines on Saturday I kept looking out for a van with 2000 bricks in it!!!!!Grin
Grumpy don't go...I need racing tips!!! I also agree that this thread is too tempting....that Me and Em dress I fancy would have looked lovely today with flat sandals Smile

Topazandpearl · 06/05/2013 21:37

Feel so sorry for all of you who are ill, hope you are all better soon. I'm another Northern resident and it is going around here too. I've spent the weekend feeling "off-colour" but not actually sick. I'm hoping it was a mild version of the bug and I am now immune (and have not passed it on to DH or DD).
I'm loving this weather but finding it more of a challenge deciding what to wear. I am definitely a winter in terms of colour and style. Think it might my Me & Em dress with the M&S snakeskin flats tomorrow. I have a snakeskin belt as well that will go.

I hope you had a good day shop. Now that the BH is over the week should go quicker. I always find that I miss DH much more if he is away on a weekend day than a weekday. It is obvious really, but it still takes me by surprise.

shopafrolic · 06/05/2013 21:59

Evening all. My lovely friend who also happens to run our local beauty salon came over tonight (I've known her since I was 16!!). She bought pasta, wine and painted my toenails for me! Have had a lovely time gossiping and reminiscing.
I'm so pleased I kept that Levi's dress. I think they've sold out now Drywhite. I felt really good in it. Just the right mix of comfy and easy to run round after DS, but still look good. It really worked with a thin brown leather belt rather than the cord one. Love love love.
Anni from the radio silence I guess you're feeling lousy. I hope everyone feels better soon.
