Novice, good luck! Just do a Garance Dore arms out of the coat thing so that it just rests on your shoulders - you'll look fab.

Queen, I have a Pinterest board called 'Trends for Friends' where I pin stuff that I come across and think others I know will like.

Liberty, it's a great idea to post that list, we'll help you focus! Let's start with the emerald?? green scarf. Anyone I know who has one of these scarves raves about how gorgeous they are, isn't that right Hopefully? If you like it we'll track it down...

MrsRadicchio · 02/04/2013 09:53

Hi all, so much to catch up on! Glad you all had good easters, we were at pils and ate too much chocolate! Still here and on their dodgy computer so excuse typos. Liberty I like your list and will keep it in mind when browsing. I like this whistles sweatshirt but are you looking for something more timeless (this one has pink thread running through it). H&M did have a 3.99 sweatshirt which i bought (saw on amber's blog) and it is good for the price!! Think it is 100% cotton too.

Re the biker - is that a leather one, or other material?

i have noticed that i often buy things that are not for my life now, like work clothes when i am not working, because it is a bargain (my particular achilles heel) so need to put a stop to that!

novice am sure you will rock the oversized coat look, not sure about your dh and your coat though!

marsha that wearing a coat for 6 months of the year thing occured to me too, I have to get a nicer coat for next winter! Worth splurging on I think, as great cost per wear!

and to all those holidaying in sunnier climes, hope you are having a good time [buenvy] [bugrin]

I have a bit of a Plan/Wishlist going on at the moment. Am going some way towards obtaining odd bits, but limited budget makes it slow going.

  • slipper flats for Spring/Summer (hah)
  • work dress - jersey, not to smart, something like the Me&Em jersey dresses, but not them as I have 3 already and wear them constantly
  • trousers of some description. I like these
  • sandals (oh god I hate buying sandals. I alternate between dirt cheap and uber expensive - I walk so much that I wear them out!). I love the Sam Edelman Gables, but they are £££ for sandals.
  • A couple of scarves - I am contemplating an ebay mission for this. I would love another Chan Luu like the one I have.
  • A cardigan. I have a recollection of someone on here (maybe shop?) linking this Anglomania one, which I adore.
  • Another couple of jersey pencil skirts - I have lived in my khaki Whistles one all winter. I've ordered this American Apparel one in a couple of colours to try
  • More t-shirts and vest tops generally. I have mostly solved that by buying this kettlewell top in (ahem) three colours, but I've also ordered a couple of American Apparel ones to try too - the deep v neck unisex that I used to live in but I'm not sure if it will work, and a [http://store.americanapparel.co.uk/3368.html?cid=26-623 square neck tank]].

Ooh, it's nice to have a list, isn't it?

Hopefully · 02/04/2013 10:18

square neck tank

MarshaBrady · 02/04/2013 10:35

Lovely stuff Hopefully.

Fabulous list Liberty will see what's out there.

Foxy pm alert! Smile

AmberNectarine · 02/04/2013 10:37

I tire of coats v easily. Like my present one - single breasted black crombie style Calvin Klein. Hard to get bored of something so simple.

MrsRadicchio · 02/04/2013 12:42

Hello hopefully, i thought this dress was a bit like me and em

splendid

also these pencil skirts look good

skirt

QueenCadbury · 02/04/2013 12:55

Oh no novice. Hope you've managed to make it look intentional!

Loving people's wish lists. I pretty much have all my basics for spring/summer sorted, I just need to inject some colour into my wardrobe and in 2 and a half weeks I'll be able to do just that! (Can you tell I'm excited about getting my colours done Grin)

MarshaBrady · 02/04/2013 13:12

I like the Splendid and the Whistles MrsR. OCADO13 at Atterley Rd still works but maybe only on full price stuff.

I am still on my discount drive so ordered this J Crew yellow t to go with peacoat. Foxy I pm'd you with this, can't remember if you are away!

AmberNectarine · 02/04/2013 13:18

Have ordered Grey/yellow New Balance trainers just his morning liberty, also Mickey Mouse t-shirt - will pretend its Marc Jacobs and Coca-cola because I am so bored of sensible, plain tees.

MarshaBrady · 02/04/2013 13:24

I've got enough brightly coloured plain J Crew type ts to last a year now. But was very low and had to throw out a whole lot of holey ones.

I want to go shopping in real shops. Will do Regent St.

AmberNectarine · 02/04/2013 13:40

I so want to do RL shopping - never get chance, damn job and kids.

MarshaBrady · 02/04/2013 13:45

I know, blinking dc. And they are playing nicely with lego together, hardly needed. Just want to skip out the door.

MarshaBrady · 02/04/2013 13:49

Not that I would of course. Really like those Uniqlo ts definitely going to check it out in there too.

libertychick · 02/04/2013 13:54

Pickled - I love that Chan Lau scarf. It?s a bit £££ for me but would consider if I could get some of the other stuff at a lower price and given that I wear a scarf almost every day I could justify on CPW.

MrsR The shape and ?slouch level? of that Whistles sweater is perfect but I am looking for a classic so would be better without the pink fleck. And yes, leather biker. I need to do a trying on session with those though as while I love the look I am not completely convinced it will work on me. Did you buy the H&M sweater on line? I couldn?t find it in the stores and have had bad past experiences with buying with them on line.

Hopefully Great anglomania cardi.

Amber I almost ordered navy/yellow new balance last night but think the navy/cobalt or grey w cobalt or light grey is more versatile for me. Can?t find the ones I want in my size anywhere though.

Have decided to make this a week of wearing new combinations to road test items for the 333 list! Wearing the I&I olive sweater today with a Hobbs A-line pleated multi-coloured (red/cobalt/black/olive) skirt. Love the shape of the look and how comfy it is but it?s clear in today?s lovely sunshine that olive is not a great colour on me so while I adore the sweater it?s not going to make the 333 list. Skirt should make the list as it very versatile and a good shape but have been wearing it all winter and completely fed up of it!

libertychick · 02/04/2013 14:06

Another vote here for some real shopping - only ever manage to snatch 30/40 mins at a time in random shops between meetings. It definitely contributes to making bad purchases.

AmberNectarine · 02/04/2013 14:17

I have a Chan Luu scarf and love it to bits. My wishlist reads thus

Black leather flat sandals
Nice loose fit shirt possibly checked
T-shirt style midi/maxi dress
Grey zip up hoodie
Rose gold Philippe Audibert cuff
Cobalt mid heels
Black fitted tank dress (think wistfully of my black Isabella Oliver maternity one.

QueenCadbury · 02/04/2013 14:27

For those of you getting Nike and new balance what will you be wearing them with?

amber love the mickey tee. Am Envy that you are young enough to wear it. Sadly I think nearing 40 is too old.

Hopefully · 02/04/2013 14:34

I don't mind not being able to do real shopping - the shops round us are mostly of the bog standard high st variety, and I don't tend to find much in them. There is a handful of vintage shops which I aspire to have time to spend a couple of hours in one day soon hough.

lol, I didn't even notice Pickled saying how good Chan Luu's are before I wrote my post. I love love love my scarf, am contemplating getting a cream one so it's nice for summer - practicalities of a cream scarf and two young children notwithstanding, of course...

Hopefully · 02/04/2013 14:35

MrsRadicchio those pencil skirts look lovely, but in not good colours for me (am HoC autumn, so brown, olive and teal are the dark neutrals in my life).

AmberNectarine · 02/04/2013 14:48

I do like my Chan Luu scarf but I do feel a bit swindled having paid over £150 for it! It's lovely, but it doesn't do the laundry.

I'll be wearing my NBs with rolled up skinnies and a tee. Ringing the changes and all that. Might mix it up with the occasional midi skirt.

FrugalFashionista · 02/04/2013 16:18

This thread is moving too fast for me but just wanted to interject that I love Libertychick's list! It's fantastic when you think things through and identify gaps!

Oh and many of the constraints and challenges sound familiar - many of my mistake purchases were made during 15-minute guerrilla strikes to Zara on my way home (made thinking 'will buy this now because don't have time to find anything better') when DD2 was a baby

I'm totally in love with wardrobe remixes atm. Possibly because I have already purged the worst offenders. Am wearing mostly neutrals paired with a few spring brights - coral and sky blue. They look delicious and so refreshing paired with oatmeal, cream, nude, gray, navy and black. Loving spring dressing Grin

foxysocks · 02/04/2013 16:22

hello hello!

novice eeeek to the coat switch! your poor DH it's freezing today out of the sunshine.

marsha thanks for PM, gutted to have missed out. but £6 del on a £9 tee would have stuck in my throat too, still bargainous overall. hope the M fits you. x

queenc i am looking for a yellow 'something' for SS but not sure what. think a tee might fit the bill. the pleats are def not me but thanks for looking. there is a J crew one FP on NAP but am not sure enough to spend £30 yet.

I absolutely love amber's cobalt scarf but it needs to be half that price for me to get one. now if it did the laundry i could be convinced....

am in london right now but having a total mare over this celine skirt, it seems the seller has given me the wrong tracking link so who knows where the damn skirt is or if i've been swindled out of £30. i really hope not. and now DH is a bit annoyed with me which also makes me feel like crying, ugh what a mess. AND my oyster card has been stopped as my CC ran out and i didn't realise so failed the auto top up, am without a card for the next few days. all in all i feel pretty crappy today Sad, even wearing the MNV orange knit isn't cheering me up.

saying that, i do have a SS wishlist: something yellow. leopard flats. white tee. black tee. white jeans. chambray shirt. sunglasses. cobalt scarf (ha! in my dreams). gold havs. grey superga.

and for AW: boots (probs cowboy boots). grey cashmere sweater (probs uniqlo v neck but in my dreams the chinti and parker star sweater Smile)

LeFreakCestChic · 02/04/2013 17:29

Hello everyone.
Poor you foxy, sounds like a horrible afternoon. Get thee home and browsing for yellow on t' interweb: I wear the Goat cardi a lot and also bought a yellow jumper from Great Plains and the yellow vivier bag from & Other Stories that the whole of MN seems to have! Nowt original about me. Am in Center Parcs ( haemorrhaging money- how expensive is this place) on v dodgy wifi and my links aren't working. don't like any of the clothes I brought with me even though I have loads of clothes and nothing I have is properly warm. I need to rethink my wardrobe....
I've been a naughty girl and spent £££ recently on quite a few things- a luverly ring from MW ( cheers amber!
Advice re me&em dresses please- are they tight? Fancy the navy/teal one for work and while I like fitted and flattering, don't want tight.
Thought that MNV would be the place to ask!
