Oh Shop I was lusting after a Barbour Arctic Parka last night.......I think I'll save up, I'm done with SS it's soooooo over (!!).....wonder if there's any way of getting one with discount....calling Amber

I'm also looking for a red statement necklace if anyone sees one and a b and w Chanel-style jacket sans the £££££ price tag.

McNally · 26/03/2013 20:45

Lovely Cashmere jumpers shop. Need to look at the Outnet more often, seen some great stuff linked on this thread. Gutted to have missed their clearance sale. Particularly loved the I&I stripy sweater Amber had on her blog.

Good news on the &Other Stories goodies Grumpy. Had a quick look in there the other weekend but it was heaving and I was about to be late for the hairdresser so didn't have time to try anything. Need to go back.

I am not keeping warm MrsR. I have mentally put my winter coats away! Housebound at the mo due to DD having a tummy bug so staying toasty inside.

libertychick · 26/03/2013 21:34

Shop so sorry to hear about your DH - redundancy is such a shock but you will come through it. I left my job last Oct because the uncertainty about the future was driving me crazy - working freelance now and while that has it's own stresses I made a good decision.

Enjoying all the lovely links - too busy and too cold to shop myself...totally confused by the Drywhite and MrsR mystery lives...

Actually I did buy one thing- a navy cross body leather bag in Gap at the weekend at 40% off - they are not on the website. And I found this under the desk in one of the offices I freelance in - so busy I completely forgot to return it Blush - I have decided its ok but not worth £62.

And I am in the process of buying this beauty for my 15 year old sister - probably won't tell her I had an almost identical one at about the same age Grin.

Drywhiteplease · 26/03/2013 21:52

Liberty no mystery, although I'm enjoying the intrigue !!!!! Amber has amazing detective powers and asked if this was me.

libertychick · 26/03/2013 21:56

Ahhhh I see - the R&B shoes....

justasecond · 26/03/2013 22:14

Evening all!
Liberty I like that silk tee, lovely colour.
I am still pondering what to wear for an eve do in a few weeks. Atm am thinking light pink silk shirt with long sleeves with navy silky tapered trousers and sort of dull/rose gold pointy courts and a rose gold statement bracelet. Not many of any of these items in my size out there though (apart from bracelet, have not even started looking for that!)
Like everyone else, sick of the weather although I must admit find winter dressing easier.
I really like those pointy Madewell pumps too. These are nice if anyone is after a pointy pair of nude ones

santamarianovella · 26/03/2013 22:41

drywhite Lagence do chanel inspired tweed jackets,i bought one from shopbop, sorry cant link!!,it not black and white but cream, but i think i saw it in black too in saks. it dosent compare to the real thing but its a pretty close match.

libertychick · 26/03/2013 22:47

Justasecond love the sound of the proposed outfit so went browsing on your behalf! How about these
Mango navy tapered trousers or
not the brief but lovely and loose and would work with the pink or
also off brief but beautiful and

pale pink silky blouse or this
I&I one or
not pale pink but stunning colour or
this coral blouse

justasecond · 26/03/2013 23:01

Hi Liberty! thankyou so much for your suggestions. I really like the Mango trousers. I actually just ordered these v similar ones
mango trs
bargain! Also like the leopard print, had not considered printed trousers..
Love the I&I and malene birger blouses but did not really want to spend that much. I actually loved this HM one
pink silk shirt
but sold out in my size. I already have the yellow one and its not bad for the price.
I did look at the Phase 8 one but think I need something I can tuck in otherwise may look a bit sloppy?

justasecond · 26/03/2013 23:07

I was thinking these sort of shoes
wish they were cheaper

libertychick · 26/03/2013 23:09

Well done on the Mango trousers Justasecond - that H&M blouse is lovely - all remaining colours gone in my size otherwise I would have ordered it - must check out the shop. H&M have some great printed trousers ATM - I am trying to find time to pop in and have a trying on session.
I know what you mean about the style of the phase 8 one - I have bought a couple in the past in that style but never felt I looked right in them.

libertychick · 26/03/2013 23:11

Have you tried Aldo for shoes?

justasecond · 26/03/2013 23:21

I like those Aldo ones but don't think I can manage above 8cm heel.
I actually quite liked these but both sold out in my size (7)
gold toe
or
although may be too shiny

Sleepwhenidie · 26/03/2013 23:23

Wow, lots of links since 8pm! I have been out with DH, just back and on my way to bed so will catch up properly and have a look at everything tomorrow, but I wore my full lengthy shearling - warmest coat ever. Am so glad I have it, it would definitely be one of the things I would save from a fire...still pondering the other two, its too difficult!

Chat tomorrow. Hope you are ok and have had a few Wine Shop

carrie74 · 27/03/2013 02:48

[waves] Greetings from Florida! Have just caught up after being wifi free for 3 days Shock.

So sorry to hear the redundancy news, and hope something even better turns up for you both v v soon.

Have also been following the saga of the endless winter while we've been here. Does it help if I tell you that the last 2 days have been the coldest since 1979? Was 15C today. Brrr. Not helping? Sorry.

Managed a bit of shopping while in Orlando. Got myself a lovely pair of Gigis, for the princely sum of $65: shop.nordstrom.com/S/sam-edelman-gigi-sandal/3500872?origin=category&contextualcategoryid=0&fashionColor=&resultback=500

Plus a sackful of bra and pants from Victorias Secret, and loads of clothes for the kiddies from Old Navy: just basic Ts and shorts, plus swimmers for DD, as they'll only get stained and bobbly by the end of the summer.

Still have a pretty long shopping list to get through...

Drywhite, it's you who's off to Orlando this week, isn't it? Have an amazing time! Let me know if you need any tips. Smile Florida Mall good for general shopping (it's HUGE), and Mall at Millenia good for higher end. We're now in Cape Coral, shopping won't be quite so straightforward, but am planning a trip to a mega outlet mall which is tremaze (went last year and got some super bargainous Paige jeans): www.miromaroutlets.com/

BrandyAlexander · 27/03/2013 07:02

Hello! Having been all smug about having spent bugger all this month, I am contemplating spending an obscene amount of money today. Blush. Can I ask if anyone has tanzanite jewelry? Everything I have read says easily scratched etc etc.

Annianni · 27/03/2013 07:21

hope you're having a fabulous time.

Now Novice... You know we'll need a link :o

I have no experience of tanzanite though, sorry.

Start a thread asking on here, there's a few jewellery experts on s&b.

FrugalFashionista · 27/03/2013 07:30

Novice I have a tanzanite silver ring - very beautiful colors but broken. Scratched stone, beyond repair as it's a flat stone and the scratch is quite deep. Talked to a jeweler about it and he said these stones are quite frail. I love semiprecious stones and have worn them every day for years (big silver cocktail rings with chunky amethysts, garnets, rose and smoky and green quartz, turquoises) but tanzanite didn't survive my lifestyle. The quartz rings can scratch too but the scratches are almost invisible.

FrugalFashionista · 27/03/2013 07:38

Oh and Novice labradorite can be a good alternative if you like the peacock feather iridescence but don't want to pay a lot - soft and frail too but ime much more affordable. Would avoid both stones in rings, they make more sense in earrings, necklaces etc.

libertychick · 27/03/2013 07:54

Envy at carrie's holiday and novice's jewellery shopping. Have fun both.

Sleep I want a shearling coat....

Sun shining today although still cold so feeling happier!

Drywhiteplease · 27/03/2013 07:54

carrie74 what's the weather like? Are you in shorts? Ive been before. this is not a cultural holiday (although im normally quite an intellectual dont you know Wink) ill be the crazy Brit mum leading the way onto the rides and making a prat of self by screaming a lot Grin 2 weeks of solid parks.Nosnow I hope......I'm sick of it, coming down again now!

Annianni · 27/03/2013 08:23

It's snowing again here. I'm sick of it.

I love those slippers you wore on your blog yesterday Amber. But you're a braver woman than I am, wearing them in this weather.
Or did you wear something more substantial to work, then change?

MarshaBrady · 27/03/2013 08:27

Ah wish I was going some where warm! We have a spot in the garden in the sun in the morning, and at some point we'll be having the coffee there. It feels like such a distant memory!

And I want to be outside by the blossom and daffodils, better not miss them completely.

I have a meeting / chat somewhere trendy about work. Need to put together an outfit that's right. I seem to have totally gone off tights this winter.

MarshaBrady · 27/03/2013 08:27

They look great Amber, really pleased you went for the ones you did, definitely the right choice.
