Oh I am so sorry Shop. Hugs for you, dh and the dcs. x

justasecond · 26/03/2013 14:44

Sorry to hear that Shop. DH was made redundant a few years ago but really it turned out well as he found a new job straight away and we had the redundancy cash, you never know sometimes these things seem awful at the time but really are for the better. Stay positive and I hope something turns up soon.

MrsRadicchio · 26/03/2013 14:46

Really sorry to hear that, SHOP, too.

BrandyAlexander · 26/03/2013 15:10

I decided to brave it and do my business trip today about 30 mins before the car was due to pick me up. I have just landed and run around the airport buying toothbrush and toothpaste. I didn't even remember I hadn't packed them till I went into the shop looking for lozenges. Methinks I should have stayed at home Blush.

As an aside.... Shop, don't even think of leaving the thread as you said a couple of weeks ago. Its not just about new purchases and it wouldn't be the same without you. x

OneLittleLady · 26/03/2013 15:21

Really sorry to hear that Shop. I'm in the same boat with DP, he got made redundant three weeks ago and is desperately hunting for a new job, they are just thin on the ground at the minute. Hope things turn out ok for you.

Sleepwhenidie · 26/03/2013 15:28

Sorry Shop xx

shopafrolic · 26/03/2013 15:39

Thanks all - that's very good of you and has set me off weeping. Sorry to hear you're in the same situation (and welcome?) OneLittleLady
Although this was expected it still feels totally shit and incredibly unfair. DH is a very proud man, fingers crossed he gets something quickly and it will all be for the good. He has already had a couple of interviews but the roles weren't suitable so fingers crossed it won't take too long.
It's been quite interesting to have to stop myself shopping. I still look at Outnet etc but I try and see if I can spot things you guys might like instead!
Anyway, onwards and upwards. I don't want to drag the thread down.
Amber those slippers in your blog are amazing!
And after all the cryptic messages I'm still none the wiser as to which other bloggers we have amongst us!

Thank you Shop. DP got a call about an interview a few minutes ago so things are potentially looking up. Fingers crossed he gets it as we are really going to struggle if not. Positive thoughts though, positive thoughts.

Topazandpearl · 26/03/2013 16:43

So sorry shop. Sending best wishes and good luck to you and onelittlelady and your DHs.

foxysocks · 26/03/2013 17:38

Drywhiteplease · 26/03/2013 18:59

shop I'm really famous Grin
sleep your holiday wardrobe is so much nicer than mine
McNally those office pointy shoes are gorgeous
MrsRadiccio who are you? PM me...I'm dying to know!!!!!
these arrived today. Cheap but really nice on and look great with bf jeans. The only problem is my skin is soooooooo pale it matches the shoes and from a distance you can barely see them!!Grin

MrsRadicchio · 26/03/2013 19:18

Oh, drywhite, i fear i have made it seem more exciting than it is.

What is everyone wearing to keep warm? I have a quilted coat from gap which is ancient. I'm not keen on it but end up wearing it loads as its the warmest thing i have. So, for next winter i want to get a v warm coat i really like...am looking for inspiration. Any suggestions?

Am also keen to get a charcoal wool beanie / bobble hat, anyone seen any?

I almost bought a Zoe karrson top from the outnet today (will link later as on phone now) but have decided to hold out to see if i can find the Paris one.

foxysocks · 26/03/2013 19:37

I've got a Barbour padded coat MrsR. Not sure on style name but its olive, knee length, big pockets, big fur lined hood and, most importantly, SO WARM without any bulk at all. I got it in harrods and they do a yearly summer maintenance thing where you send it off and they re water proof it or something.

MarshaBrady · 26/03/2013 19:50

Thanks for White Co code Decam, constantly getting emails, but never at right time. So pleased I've actually used one!

Sleep love your summery buys.

Wine love the ballet flats.

My worst disaster would be the other week, a Stella McCartney oversized jumper that became so undersized and felted after I washed it I had to throw it away. Felt so bad for it, like I'd let it down. Sorry little Stella jumper.

Evening all.
Wanted to add my commiserations, shop. A few years ago DH left a job that was dragging him down and we started up on our own with 4 weeks notice - best thing we ever did. It has been hard (especially starting a new business during a recession) but rewarding, so don't despair - you never know what's coming. Please stick around here though - style is permanent, remember?
I've been suffering a shopping disorder recently, ie ordering all sorts only to send it back. The Michael Kors watch arrived on Monday and, while it is beautiful, I felt I couldn't really justify it, so it went back. I also cancelled the order for the Gigis, but have a feeling I might get them after all as I can't find anything else I like as much. Hoping for a bit of sunshine and warmth to inspire me first.

MarshaBrady · 26/03/2013 20:00

Yes it's a bit like suspended animation waiting for the weather to improve. No point in buying winter stuff still, and still so cold.

Shop you must stay, it's lovely just to have you here, the shopping is incidental.

foxysocks · 26/03/2013 20:06

No min doesn't have a belt. Hang on...

Result! Just checked the &Other Stories website (as every other day) and my lovely ballerinas are available in my size again. So I have re-bought. Hoping the 36 fits perfectly as the 37s were huge. I did love them and almost kept them in the too-big size. Glad I didn't now.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 26/03/2013 20:17

Love that grey cashmere shop. That's why we need you here Smile

shopafrolic · 26/03/2013 20:25

Good news Grumpy - I so wish i'd bought that yellow bag when it was available......
