*shopafrolic" oh dear, just saw your post and ordered my first time with them at the weekend! Will check what is going on with my order too!

BrandyAlexander · 05/03/2013 20:20

Hi Scripsi, love the first watch but can see the watch you mean on 2nd link?

Amber, don't worry you told the OP on the other thread that it wasn't your cup of tea but that her post was just rude. Fair enoughGrin

BrandyAlexander · 05/03/2013 20:25

Annie you had me wondering how mine come off! After panic and an investigation i have re-discovered that on my bracelet you press on the links and that releases the charm!

MarshaBrady · 05/03/2013 20:27

Oh no Scripsi! what did you order?

shopafrolic · 05/03/2013 20:28

scripsi SP website says all orders will be fulfilled, the challenge is you will struggle to get a refund if you don't like what you bought...... Might be worth giving them a call.....
Haven't heard of the watches you posted. Like the leather wrap around but not sure about the face. Not much knowledge of watches sorry.

MarshaBrady · 05/03/2013 20:33

Oh that's good about the orders.

So it's just if you sent something back and it arrived on Friday to today.

AmberNectarine · 05/03/2013 20:34

Cape cod is lovely but v expensivo, wouldn't be for me as I treat my watches badly. Have just broken clasp of M Kors for third time! The Christopher Ward looks a really alternative, and you wouldn't panic so much every time you couldn't find it (which is a problem I constantly have!!)

LeFreakCestChic · 05/03/2013 20:58

Gah, SP site 'under maintenance'- looks like my decision over the Blochs has been made for me. Won't be sending them back for a non existent refund.... Buggeration.

But foxy! Fab cardi from goat, thanks v much for the code. Lots of compliments on it. I think it looks great with a striped top, rolled up skinnies and heeled ankle boots, feel v chic in it.

scripsi · 05/03/2013 21:15

couple of petit bateau tops and a goat jacket. Hope they are keepers!
I agree on the Cape Cod AmberNectarine, DH reminds me how much the Breitling cost him as I am always leaving it lying around. Christopher Ward seems to have something of a following online so perhaps it is worth having a go. Does a brown leather strap look chic enough for work?

santamarianovella · 05/03/2013 22:03

Hi everyone, have been following the mn vogue threads for a while, and decided to join in with all you lovely ladies!scripsi i had the cape cod watch for over 10 years now and still going strong,i did change the strap a few times though, very durable. i havent heard of the other brand but they look nice.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 05/03/2013 22:59

Received my Outnet packages today and they're fab!
The shirt is almost perfect. I was a bit worried that the length was slightly longer than I'd really wanted, but everything else is so right, I could never return it on that basis. Sexy slim shape, great fabric/fit - have to keep it.
Same 'problem' with the jeans which are a bit too long as I'm short, but they're not obscenely long, ie I don't need to roll them up, but they look great rolled above the ankle, so they too are keepers.
Think I'm going to have to abstain for a while though - I've really overdone things lately!

shopafrolic · 05/03/2013 23:09

Good news grumpy glad the shirt was a winner.

scripsi · 05/03/2013 23:33

santamarianovella thank you for the vote of confidence on the watch.
Lovely acquisitions grumpy

libertychick · 05/03/2013 23:34

Shop and Scripsi really hope your SP orders work out and Thanks and Wine and (((()))) to Marsha on the potential loss of refund - how completely annoying.

Welcome all the new folk - YY to frugal fashion, I want more ideas on reusing what I have etc - playing with each other's pin boards sounds fun.

Dec the Prada is fabulous but mega difference in price and the Coach is very lovely too so would be a great buy.

My orders turned up today. Whistles loafers are every bit as preppy and nerdy as I had hoped and are keepers. The MK Trousers are my holy grail, fit perfectly with no waist adjustments needed and the perfect just to the bottom of ankle length. The I&I silk T is going back. In off white it's see through and there was some slight puckering around the neck. The shape is great but it just didn't feel worth £63 to me. It may be ok in other colours.

Annianni · 06/03/2013 07:00

I've not ordered from them Drywhite, ask Amber, she orders from there.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes Decameron.

Had another delivery yesterday (at teatime when dh was home) Blush
Hudson gia skinny jeans in saville. They seemed to be a good fit, need a proper try on this morning.

No more shopping for me for a while.

Annianni · 06/03/2013 07:02

Good purchases Grumpy and
Liberty.

Finger's crossed for you Scripsi.

Annianni · 06/03/2013 07:05

I did go to the local jewellers Shop and it was closed.
So I thought i'd give the cobblers a try.
It was only a link that needed cutting through, but quite a fat link iykwim, so I didn't want dh doing it with pliers!

shopafrolic · 06/03/2013 08:18

Great idea Anni and probably lots cheaper - I think I would have had to look in the opposite direction as they did it! :)
Drywhite I only shop UK based sites at the moment so can't help I'm afraid.
Liberty glad your purchases work! :)
I am loving these refound straight leg 7FAMs. They are quite a dirty blue, and have rubbed through patches on the hip, thigh and one of the back pockets is rubbed through to reveal some tiny rose gold coloured sequins in a small patch. I think that's why I had never worn them (as I don't tend to do sequins other than one FCUK sweatshirt). But in reality, the glittery bit is no more than an inch or so wide on one pocket. If I roll them up they sit just above my ankle and I have to belt in the waist a bit so they look more like roughed up boyfriends. I wore them again yesterday with my Hudsons and felt great.

So a couple of people said they'd be up for looking through peoples Pintrest boards and styling an outfit? If you are, my first question would be how would you wear these cream jeans if you had my wardrobe (Pinned on SS 13, AW 12 and In My Wardrobe boards) - assume I also have basics like plain tees, vests etc........ I'm curious to figure out a daytime weekend look and an evening look........ No worries if people can't be bothered. Just a bit of fun. I'd love to do the same for others if you fancy it............

shopafrolic · 06/03/2013 08:28

JEEEEZ S&B is a mess with Spam this morning!

FrugalFashionista · 06/03/2013 09:05

What a shame about SP. They had such a well-designed and inspiring website, one of the very best. Hope you all get your orders and refunds sorted out! These are tough times - a Michelin-starred restaurant, a beauty salon and a quirky indie fashion shop have gone out of business in our neighborhood this year. I guess lots of people are feeling very cost-conscious and cutting out all non-essential spending.

Morning chez Frugal: woke up feeling ugly, with a humongous spot on chin. Tried to cheer myself up by breaking the formula and wearing something different. A frenzied trying on session to find the right pairings for high waisted denim city shorts (from last year). I am wearing them with navy/violet opaques, but finding the right top was really challenging. These are really high-waisted, almost corset-like, so waist should be the focal pointof the outfit. I tried my old cropped jackets but they were too long and the end result was boxy, longline sweaters even worse and my shorter cotton sweaters were too creased to wear. Currently pairing the shorts with a shortish coral cotton scoopneck tee and a longer coral cardigan (old stash, circa 2011).

Accessories: a chain bracelet and necklace and my mother's hand-me-down navy suede loafers. If I listened to Ines de la Fressange, the predictable short and loafer combo should be avoided and I should go for strappy stilettos, but am at home with children Grin

Bottom line - I find high-waisted shorts difficult to pair. This may change in the summer when I can wear them with cropped tops. Lesson learned: shop whole outfits, resist single items that go with nothing...

Makeup: have been experimenting with LRP products, using the Effaclar AI to treat and dry out breakouts (salicylates, really works). Have been using LRP foundation (from bottom shelf at the local pharmacy) as a concealer - can recommend, highly pigmented and excellent coverage, but be warned that the finish is dryish powdery matte. With coral lipstick and some blusher, face sorted.

Does anyone else here wear shorts in the winter? How do you style them?

FrugalFashionista · 06/03/2013 09:13

Shop your wardrobe is to die for! The cream jeans can go with everything, the dress included, but I'd pick the breton and the faux fur jacket. No bag (just stash keys and cell in your pocket) - going bagless is liberating...

MarshaBrady · 06/03/2013 09:17

Shop am a big fan of cream with other light colours.

Not jeans but love the soft dove grey.

floral

Lots of light colours and layers here

MarshaBrady · 06/03/2013 09:21

SP had nice packaging too, a big box with text on it and a map thing inside. It did give me a feeling that they were around to last, since they had invested in that. I think it was investors pulling out rather than sales too low, which is a shame. At least the dc love the box!

Shorts, I'd go similar colour, so all dark grey and dressed down, so flat shoes and slouchy-ish knit. A comfy outfit.

Liberty great work on the loafers and MK they look great, good dsicount too. The I&I does feel a bit full price-ish to me, which is fine if you love it, but harder if not perfect.

MarshaBrady · 06/03/2013 09:30

The tones are slightly different on those images, so you may have to adjust.

Frugal ah I see they are high waisted. Yes to what you have with them. Cant hide the waist as you say. Go with cardigan and scoop next, sounds great.

Anni love your splurge! Hope there's a home for all of it Grin

I forgot to say I fold and put jeans in drawers. I really should do a big clear out.

QueenCadbury · 06/03/2013 09:35

shop your clothes are gorgeous. In theory I would have thought that all colours would go with cream trousers I don't wear cream so not too sure .

frugal I wear black woollen shorts for going out with thick black tights and a black lace top and black block heels (can you tell I like black?). I wouldn't be brave enough to wear them in the day though-there needs to be alcohol involved to give me confidence! If I was wearing them during the day I'd go for a slouchy knit as marsha says.
