Also love Matches and they have decent sales. My-W good too as I get free delivery and loyalty vouchers.

Is it just me that hasn't embraced online shopping? I mainly only do it when i've tried something on in store and then wait for a discount code or if it's from somewhere I know will fit. Much as I love online browsing (and I do enough of it!) I just still love wandering round the shops more.

I've diagnosed myself as a summer as I'm pale, blue eyed, blonde hair. Blues and greens definitely seem to work best on me though so not really sure. Since having dc3 and getting older I've definitely noticed some colours drain me whereas in younger years I just wore what I liked (although colours have always scared me!). I pretty much never wear black in the day now and only wear it for going out when I plaster on the make up otherwise I look ill. So I'm hoping that hopefully can give me confidence wearing colour as well as looking 10 years younger Grin

Hello. I am not a big online shopper, except for things I have seen in real life or styles I know will suit me. I use online for browsing and buy instore, so often I don't like something when I see it in the flesh, also I pick things in store I would never have chosen online. Can't be bothered with deliveries and returns. I love Asos though! Got a fab belted midi dress from there the other day.

Agree, Matches is best, Browns is good for an online browse too. My wardrobe I find a bit more conservative.

i don't have much experience of Matches and NaP as have only ever bought during sale time. I loved Style Passport but I do like Atterley Road - their service is great, and free delivery and returns helps! I think because I am more of a conservative dresser it suits my style quite well. But agree there was lots of inspiration on SP and I liked the concept. I've kept all the map paper that they packed with to use with DS!
I hate spending loads of time in the shops, I go in with a mission to get a particular thing and if it doesn't jump off the shelf at me I don't wait around. The exception to that is Selfridges and Harrods where I can lose myself for hours but usually in the shoe and beauty sections rather than the clothes! I need to revisit Libertys. I haven't been since I was a teenager with my mother.
The thing I like about online shopping is the ability to try things at home, mix with other outfits I own and get DH's opinion (he hates trawling the shops too). I also like browsing without interference from pushy sales staff!

As the weather was so mild again, I wore the orange trench coat again. I just love it. Looks amazing and can't believe the sales assistant had to talk me into trying it on. Brown shift dress and matching jacket from Hobbs and brown lk Bennett knee high boots. Also have a orange and brown scarf worn asq

They get great stock don't they. I always ponder on the hierarchy and wonder if some get first pick. Probably.

And am pleased they have lifted their game from just a store, Liberty see!

I look around maybe every two months. Usually Matches and Liberty. I'm not good with the ambience at Selfridges / HN Wink. Too much artificial light or something and get hot / frazzled

I also can't bear sales assistants hovering, so much easier at home. And try with other stuff and it looks how it's going to look, no surprises. Well hopefully not.

Harrods makes me want to cry (mainly because I usually have a buggy and I find it like a nightmare maze. HN my dept store of choice, with Selfridges in second (I'm the anti-Marsha).

I like Browns both as a site and a store. Lovely things and when I went in there with DD chewing on a strawberry they cooed round her rather than recoiling in horror.

My Wardrobe annoys me, I get a lovely discount through work but they never stock the things that I want so I end up having to buy them full price on NaP/Matches.

I also do most of my shopping online. I like the range of brands you can access, and find if you shop during sales time you can get a lot of money off meaning designer clothes become high street prices. I'm not that keen on many high street shops now, though I do like to browse in Cos. This thread, and S&B generally, has made me conscious of the material clothes are made from and I now try to buy natural fibres. Also aim to buy ethically but I don't stick to that religiously.

I do like browsing vintage and charity shops though. I think my shopping MO is definitely bargain hunter, though it does mean I often buy stuff as it is a great bargain rather than a great item for me. Trying to stop that!

Speaking of bargains, there are some v cheap Sam Edelman boots in the My Wardrobe sale...only in v small sizes though here

Also love ebay, its the thrill of the chase!

Lol Amber Grin. Together we've got it covered.

Although, gasp, the Lanvin dress is from HN and it wasn't bad at all. That little corner is fine, near Celine bit I kept going from one to the other, but I get wild eyed another floor up. Plus I can never really remember if it was Selfridges or HN I shopped at Confused. So am upgrading HN.

And yes my-wardrobe. Toughy, I really want them to get the good stuff, but often it's so close but no banana.

But they can take heart - they're not Yoox.

(joke, buy they haven't changed for ten years).

Yup Amber I can imagine Harrods with a buggy is hell on earth. Again, I never browse, other than in the beauty room, and jewellery section! Straight in, get to the department I need, buy and leave. i do like to people watch tho as there is usually something hilarious to be seen........

Yep, what is up with Yoox? I've never bought anything from there, is it all past season? I think stores really have to invest in photographs and styling now. I wonder if places like topshop and Cos suffer through not taking pics of the clothes on a model? I do love the odd item from topshop but it's a gamble to buy online. Cos, I like but don't buy from as they have no store in Bristol.

I love Harvey Nicks. They are always nice in the café to the DDs. I've had a few run ins with people in Harrods. One French woman who walked backwards several paces into my baby's pushchair and then started shouting non, non, non at me.

I do virtually all my shopping on line and have done for about4 years. I have managed 3 visits to the shops this year though so it's been a good start. 2 of those were business trips though so my selfridges birthday treat might remain a one off! Having said that dh is currently trying to negotiate a boys weekend to rugby and golf and is putting generous offers on the tableGrin

Novice where will you go? Get thee to HN.

I remember the first ever online order I had accounted happened with Yoox, work friend so long ago. We were all in shock. You ordered online?!

And nope they are still the same Grin. Not sure where their stock comes from.

And in MiH news. In a covert operation I have recovered my MiH in off-white! A courier was sent in and retrieved said goods at 11.00 this morning. Dh has managed to bring them home without leaving on a train.

I am very happy!

And Shop you are a life-saver as had you not pointed out that SP were folding I wouldn't have even checked to see if refund had occurred and I doubt I'll ever hear from the liquidators. But I have the MiH!

Blimey Marsha, well done.

Has the voucher arrived Foxy?

Report

Well I was musing that if my jeans had arrived on the day that they ceased trading and they were not allowed to notify me re refund or do any transactions or operations that no one would actually know my jeans were back. And that they were probably just sitting there and it would have been better for me not to have returned them at all. So I called (the lovely staff) and asked oh by the way can you just send them back to me? (my voice my have got all squeaky) and they said no as no operations yada so I said can I come and get them. To which they said yes!

So nearly trounced all the way up there. But thought oh will just send a courier. Which dh did for me. And voila! Retrieval of the MiH!

They are pretty much closed tomorrow so got in just under the wire.

Just need to sort out the Goldsigns then will have paid for the same number of items I actually have yippee!

Well done Marsha - tactical mission accomplished?

All about Yoox here. They specialize in overstock. But if you want to wear designer and pay Zara/H&M prices, they are unbeatable. Their -80% end of season sales are legendary, FrugalFashionista approved Grin Particularly good for basics. Styling and photography and style/sizing info generally dismal, but with those discounts I can handle that. Much cheaper than Outnet in my experience.

I'm really looking forward to the new H&M spinoff, & Other Stories. I like COS and I think I'm in the target demographic - Monki and Weekday are too teen-angsty for me (but Cheap Monday jeans are loved by quite a few fashionistas).

I'm definitely an online shopper. For me, being frugal means thinking through the options carefully and investing in well-made items that can serve for longer that just one season, and not buying mindlessly.

Some people rave about Yoox, but I can't get past the hideous pictures. They manage to make all the jeans look like 80s mum jeans.

I went to Harrods with the buggy at sale time once. Mate, I'd sooner go to Battersea Dog's Home wearing a meat dress than do that again. The people, the pushing, the heat - and I just could not get out!

Well done on MiH Marsha!
