hello! i found this board last week via my friend carrie74, and have been following the MN vogue vols 4&5. I hope you don't mind me joining in?

I have been slowly regaining my fashion mojo since my youngest was born two years ago, and for the last year have been on a throw out / sell / re-invest mission. i'm loving it! I feel good about my clothes, my 'look', my body for the first time in years. and more recently people (well, fellow school run mums!) have been asking ME for advice. crazy.

I only have a few bags for everyday, I tend to use one for a week or two then switch. they are stored in the bottom of my wardrobe in dust bags.

my favourite atm is this campomaggi studded cross-body which I got for my birthday, I love it pinterest.com/pin/250231323017024950/

MarshaBrady · 19/02/2013 09:51

Noo don't go back to lurking, stay Foxysocks Smile love the bag.

BrandyAlexander · 19/02/2013 09:51

Hhmm. Don't think the wall option would work for me. I am a bagaholic Blush. Its v annoying because we designed the bottom of all the wardrobes to have pull out shoe racks but I didn't think of bags at the time.

My family and I have set up a charitable Iink with a village in a developing country. We all do an annual cull of clothes, if it hasn't been worn in a year and there isn't a good reason then we ship to the village. I am rather rabid about not throwing anything out as what we might think is crap might be useful over there. I normally do the cull in December but we were away this year so I have spent 2 evenings in the last week trying to sort out just my wardrobe. Its dull work!

foxysocks · 19/02/2013 09:53

aw thanks Marsha! off to John Lewis to do some returns but will come back later Smile

shopafrolic · 19/02/2013 10:11

Stay Foxysocks - welcome! It's so nice to start feeling like you again style wise post DS isn't it? What do you wear for the schoolrun?

EBay is super easy Liberty just make sure you give plenty of info in your descriptions. Sizing, colour, if they come up big or small. If you have an iPad then the app on there is brilliant and takes the photos without you having to download them from your camera. Think there is an app for iPhone too but I have a BB. Any questions or if you want to see some of my listings to get the idea then PM me.

I bring BRILLIANT news (for me anyway) and I think some of you may breathe a sigh of relief!!! The RL breton arrived and Amber it is PERFECT (yes I am shouting a bit!). Thank you, thank you, thank you. The perfect length in body and sleeves, the perfect colour, great neckline - I love it. Needed to love it for the price but if it lasts as well as my DH's RL polo shirts then it should be around for many years! Thanks
Still no sign of the Massimo version........
Off on an assortment of 'playdates' today (I hate that word!) so wearing J Brand Sashas again - think i need a second pair! and A&W peacock coloured mohair sweater with tan suede Ash boots.

I am very impressed with you two handbag ladies! But I bet they are amazing handbags? Smile

Foxy!!! I thought you must have been lurking on these threads! Smile.

And I must echo what Foxy says, since lurking on S&B boards and following some of the recommended blogs, I've upped my game a bit, and have also been asked for style advice at the school gates. One friend called me a fashionista yesterday Shock.

I may bring my [whisper] 10+ year old ankle cowboy boots out of hiding this spring following twentymumthing's blog today...

And am feeling might fine today in my McQ hummingbird skirt (another nod to Amber) pinterest.com/pin/283023157804604057/, damson cashmere Hush jumper: pinterest.com/pin/283023157804604064/, and brush scarf pinterest.com/pin/283023157804604060/ (all nipped in at the waist with a Massimo Dutti brown belt).

shopafrolic · 19/02/2013 10:14

Very over enthusiastic post this morning - sorry - off for a lie down :)

Shop bravo! love excited post-buy posts. The best ones Grin. Really pleased it's perfect.

Carrie Amber's blog is great isn't it. Great you got the Hummingbird skirt that is very fashionista!

Novice that sounds brilliant, also have the image of some very well dressed people there.

Haircuts and new shoes today, rock n roll.

AmberNectarine · 19/02/2013 10:40

shop yes mine too! I was not amused. So glad the Breton

foxy and carrie hello and welcome! Really glad you're enjoying my blog and the skirt carrie - it will be featuring in a post this week...

novice I am the worst person to ask, mine are piled on top of each other, sans dust bags in the bottom of my overstuffed wardrobe, where they fall out every time. Need to sort it really, my shoes have their own wardrobe and live in clear shoeboxes, hardly fair!

Drywhiteplease · 19/02/2013 11:10

shop congrats......how fitted is it?< tempted now>
carrie I love that skirt and the choppy bobs on your Pinterest......Now a follower .
My handbags are all neatly lined up on a purpose built shelf....(I'm anally retentive about storage, yes my shoes are all in clear plastic boxes, knits and t shirts all folded (a la benneton) according to style! Scarves rolled up in a handy sectioned thingy recommended by MN................serious clothing OCD !!!!!)

Now onto today's outfit........boyfriend jeans with black wedge booty lace up ( I'm -too-wimpy-and-over-the-hill-for-Ash-brownies) or black skinnies?
White co asymetric stone longsleeved swingy tunic layered over white round neck, long sleeve t shirt, statement blingy collar in coffee colours, loads of brownie gold bangles (hopefully), new green wrap coat with chunky stripy, scarf, cross body stone old bag. I'm erring on the side of skinnies.......pathetically excited about my 3 days in London.

Btw.....has anyone found some black jeans that don't fade? I hate re-dyeing, it's soooo messy.

Over and out

foxysocks · 19/02/2013 13:01

hi carrie! . i had no idea this board existed otherwise would have popped over to mumsnet ages ago!

anything goes on the school run for me but flat shoes essential. it's effing freezing in the mornings here so the only bit anyone sees is my down filled barbour and boots! cheering myself up with nice scarves though. i cannot WAIT for spring.

today: grey skinnies (gap), longline khaki top (baukjen) with grey vest underneath (H&M), charcoal cashmere longline cardigan (fenn wright manson i think, VERY old), oversized blush star scarf (beckonsgaard via plumo), uggs for school run then woodash jalouse for shopping. and my campomaggi. oh, and some smeared banana / snot mixture across my shoulder courtesy of the toddler.

foxysocks · 19/02/2013 13:08

oh, meant to add that my experience of MD delivery is utterly pants. i ordered a rust/cream breton in their sale in and took TWO WEEKS to arrive. I was over it by then.

shop I LOVE that breton. it's on my wish list but have spent waaaay too much so far this year, I really need to reign it in. I did manage to add this little beaut of a spring/summer jacket to my SS13 collection today, found a code for 15% extra off so down to £56!

(not sure if I've worked out link on here yet, sorry if not)

QueenCadbury · 19/02/2013 13:12

Can I ask a really dull question. For those of you that change your bags regularly is that for work or when out with dc? How do you remember to re- pack everything into a different bag? I'd be worried I'd forget to pack nappies etc.

Shop which zatchels bag did you order and do they always take that long to be dispatched? I was going to ask for a navy saddle bag for Mother's Day (having decided that the barell shape is too small) but I might have to get dh to order it now.

amber are you getting your silver balenciaga? Because of you I can't stop thinking of how much I now want a silver bag!

QueenCadbury · 19/02/2013 13:17

Hey foxy I see you're a fellow bristolian

carrie74 · 19/02/2013 13:21

Thanks Drywhiteplease (great user name!). My hair is kind of like those styles (well, y'know, as much as they can be translated onto real people).

My handbags are on a top shelf in my wardrobe in their dustbags, but not terribly neatly placed, TBH. Oops.

I'm not brilliant at changing bags regularly, but luckily my children are a bit older now (7&5), so out of nappies and bottles etc. I usually just empty out the old one and put into the new one everything that looks useful (ie I throw out the scrappy bits of paper, the snacks that never got eaten but now look like they've been mauled, crappy plastic tat that one of them had to bring home from the restaurant or wherever, etc ad nauseum).

Liking the sounds of the outfits today Drywhiteplease and Foxy. Smile

carrie74 · 19/02/2013 13:22

Ooh, QueenCadbury, me too . Well, kind of. About 10 miles away.

foxysocks · 19/02/2013 13:37

hello queencadbury! (how do you make names bold? does that notify people you've mentioned them, like twitter/FB?) whereabouts in bristol are you? I wonder if we're on the same school run!

AmberNectarine · 19/02/2013 13:37

Queen, I keep a Longchamp full of toddler crap under the buggy at all times - my handbag is my own! Shop and I ordered our Zatchels from the BrandAlley sale, hence slow dispatch. Think Zatchels themselves are much quicker. I am getting the Balenciaga. Have had to sit on my hands a few times to stop myself blowing the fund. Have set the date - 1 March!

carrie74 · 19/02/2013 13:39

Foxy, just asterisks around the name, but from what I can tell, doesn't notify you, just makes scanning through the thread easier.

Annianni · 19/02/2013 14:37

We've just been to the zoo, lovely sunny day here.
Just too busy for my liking.

Queencadbury I change my bags most days. I keep a packet of wipes, a nappy or 2, tissues and a tin of vaseline in each bag.
Then I just need my purse, keys, snacks and drink.
And I usually have a bag in the car, with a clean outfit (for ds2, not me) and spare nappies etc.

shopafrolic · 19/02/2013 14:40

QueenC my Zatchels order arrived within 48 hours, just Brand Alley keeping me waiting. I have a separate change bag to my handbag. The cream is on my SS Pinterest board.
Foxy sounds as though we might share hairstyles!
Drywhite fitted enough to be slim but not so fitted that it clings to my lumpy waist!
Have just ordered an orange sweater from the sale at Style Passport. Might be a bit bright.......

Marsha, my local Lego shop had a big tent outside yesterday. They were advertising the new Chima range.
There was a tv showing a film and you could play games with the new figures.
You scored points and the winner gets a prize.
Ds2 enjoyed it and he got a goody bag for taking part, with a mask, stickers, lego tattoos etc.
Maybe worth a look if there's one near you?

Annianni · 19/02/2013 14:45
