Night all - I need to go for a lie down, too much adrenaline!

Well I've been waiting for the Tippi sweater to be discounted for a while. I love the one I have already and in a sombre colour it will be handy for work.

But instead of selecting that colour I am whirring wildly around the site trying to find something a bit more juicy.

I like the look of this blazer but really do need to try it on for size. Hurry up with the London store already!

Drywhiteplease · 25/02/2013 22:18

Thought you were going to tell me to buy a bloody bench Grin

QueenBOObread · 25/02/2013 22:27

Bench free zone, here, Dry. Lovely bag though Wink

Sleepwhenidie · 25/02/2013 22:52

Hi everyone, just dropping in to say hi, am feeling battered after gym this morning and kickboxing this evening, interspersed with running around doing chores to catch up with myself after last week. It's enabletastic round hereGrin! Liking the purchases.

I managed to dash into TKMaxx at 9.45 this morning and for the first time ever found some proper clothes (as opposed to sports kit and similar) Smile. Picked up this skirt in black for £69 and a pair of Catherine Malandrino black skinny twill trousers for £79, they will look great with ballet flats if it ever gets warmer Hmm. Am still undecided on whether to keep the skirt though, not sure if it actually looks a little cheap with the jersey back and the textured leather, though the leather is lovely and soft. Thoughts anyone?

The good news is I have had an early bid on the Loubis, I may get that Gucci halter neck yet Grin. Anna also has a gorgeous pair of J Brand black suede trousers reduced from around £800 to £270 (not on website) that I keep thinking about, they fit beautifully, it just felt like too much when I was buying leather MiH's there....

Tempting Shop, lovely top.

Postman arrived at 7-20 this morning Hmm I was at the door in my robe with messy hair.
He brought yet another Zoe K tee which looked lovely out of the wrapper but like this on me all I want is a nice slouchy tshirt or three. Don't bother with the Zoe k's if you're a good size 14 with boobs Sad

Did you order the bag Drywhite?

And the jumper QueenB?

I like the suede trousers Sleep, not sure about the skirt though.

QueenCadbury · 26/02/2013 09:41

Morning all. Lovely links as usual. My latest obsession is now trying to wear the things I have but with different accessories. You've probably seen from Pinterest that I'm trying to work out how many bracelets between cool and naff e.g here.

shopi'm not sure on the skirt either but will depend what it looks like from behind (jersey's a nightmare for my ample arse) and how you style it. What were you thinking of wearing with it?

carrie74 · 26/02/2013 10:25

Oh no Anni, it's awful when that happens (I was gutted when my bargainous Me&Em jacket arrived which was beautiful, but just mad me look an idiot with a pinhead).

Like the sweatshirt shop

Sleep not sure on the skirt either, I think careful styling is the way forward, but I think it'd be too short for me in that kind of style. Dunno, tricky one.

My "issue": off on holiday in 3 weeks (have I mentioned it? Grin). I'm a BIG fan of polished nails, and have been having Gelish for months now (actually, it's probably been a year now, with breaks, although pretty much constantly since autumn Blush). I tend to favour taupes (have been wearing After Party Espresso lots, on now: theorangecowknowshow.wordpress.com/2012/07/12/just-for-you-gelish-after-party-espresso/), but keep seeing really pale, almost white opaques on catwalks and Oscars.

Thinking of doing it for holiday, what do we think?

BobbiFleckmann · 26/02/2013 11:08

gel nails don't work for holiday - all the sunscreen is oil based and makes them lift really quickly. If you're having to apply your own plus any child sunscreen, the gels will last about 3 days and you'll be left with sharp straggly cuticles and it'll be really hard to get the rest of them off and you'll peel half the nail surface off the voice of experience.

Mrsap · 26/02/2013 11:16

Morning all

As usual, great links. V inspiring during these freezing times. The wind felt like it was cutting my face this morning.

Love the idea of pale/white nails carrie but find them v aging on my hands and just not that nice. However they do look good on people who have nice hands (unlike my claws!).

Thx for the grazia code shop I might pop in tomorrow.

Anni, shame about the Zoe tee, I always look at them and think they will make me look more pudding than slouchy. I so want to be able to wear them tho.

Queen, I love that lots of bracelets/bangles look but then I am not one to ask as I am allergic most metals so hardly wear jewellery, which is annoying as I can't even wear my wedding/engagement rings.

Anyway, DCs finally back at school and I am going for a lie down to recover from half term. Then some cooking and some online shopping, hopefully.....will report back.

carrie74 · 26/02/2013 11:36

Bobbi [weep]. I've had them done on holiday before, and although they don't last quite as long, they've been ok. Plus will be in US, so can always get to a nail bar if emergency Grin.

Hmm, good point about ageing, MrsAP. I think I'll speak to my nail person and see what she thinks. Maybe we'll try one and see how it goes...My 7YO wants me to get sparkly coral. Hmm

Annianni · 26/02/2013 11:50

The last 2 Zoe K tee's have just arrived, and yet again I look fat daft in them.
So back they will go.

I'll stick with my Zara linen tee's for now, they have enough of a slouch for me.
I'm finally wearing the Hudson baby bootcuts today, and they are lovely. So glad I kept them.

I'm waiting for the Hush jersey jackets now, the Gigi's and my Yoox order of jeans is due on Wednesday and 2 cardigans that I ordered last night, but i'm not telling you where from, as you'll disown me

I like the lots of bracelets look QueenB, go for it.

I have no advice on nails sorry, I only paint my toes.

Sleepwhenidie · 26/02/2013 12:19

Hi everyone, I got my ZK t this morning too. I quite like it but think it may fall into the mostly lazing around at home category in which case money may be better spent on something lovely. Agree cut is not generous, the XS would definitely cling to my chest too much.

I have decided to return the CM skirt, put it down to a case of getting carried away with what a bargain it was Smile. Am popping in to Anna to try the suede J Brands again later. So much for being on the Bench (amusing that we now have the double meaning to that Grin)

Queen love the loads of bracelets but personally would stop short of the one alongside the watch.

Re nails, I think the pale may look ageing too. But Kate Moss gets away with it and she's no spring chicken, however stunning! Really need to see it with your skin tone..perhaps do it when you come back with a tan? I haven't had good experiences with shellac, wrecked my nails, so would plan to work in a couple of manis out there, as it's so cheap and convenient in the US.

QueenCadbury · 26/02/2013 12:21

C'mon anni spill the beans!

I'm not sure about really pale or white nails. Could look like tippex but equally it could look really cool. As someone else said it depends on your hands and also the size of your nails. I have huge nails so very pale stuff looks awful on me.

bobbi glad I'm not the only one if happens too. Had gels done for the first time before going abroad last year and by day 3 they were peeling off. Was gutted.

carrie74 · 26/02/2013 12:31

I want white nails [stiff bodied tantrum].

But sleep you've just reminded me I should probably book a spray tan too to prevent offending the Americans with my glow in the dark white skin...The more I discuss this, the more I'm concerned I'll look less Kate Moss, more My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.

Queen (and I'm not doing my cause any good here), I like the many-bracelets look, although get irritated when trying to actually do anything (like type at work).

BobbiFleckmann · 26/02/2013 12:40

the grazia code is all very well but why do utterly bloody Whistles have a look book full of gorgeous things on the site that aren't actually available to buy? Maybe they do the 25% offer to clear stock before getting their main spring drop in? irritating to see all those things there but not for sale.

carrie74 · 26/02/2013 13:24

Actually, another search required.

I'd quite like a pair of fitted black ankle boots suitable for work to wear with slim fit black trousers and skirts/dresses, flat or very low heel (I'm crap in heels). Everything I like tends to be a bit too casual I think, or too high. Anyone willing to take on the challenge?

shopafrolic · 26/02/2013 13:55

Okay so I went into Whistles this morning and bought another seam back tee in black. Anni these work well for me and I'm a 12/14 with 32Es...... I wear a 12 if I want reasonably fitted, 14 for slouch. I didn't get on with the ZK tees either......
I also picked up this dress which looks much nicer IRL and will be easy to wear when the weather gets warmer. Nice and slouchy with good pockets.
dress
I tried it in this fabric too but it looked cheap despite the higher price tag:
alternative fabric
This version was made of a fabric called Cupro which is apparently used in gym wear and is a breathable synthetic!!!! Was told to expect to see more of this being used as the cost of natural fibres is so high.
No sign of the sweatshirt in my local store so I'll probably order online.
They also had some great block sandals in tan and black that I can't find to link.
LOADS of women buying various colour versions of this
Bella
It's going to be everywhere!

What's your budget carrie?

Many to say, more new Whistles SS stock due in next week. Their retail weeks run Sunday to Sat so I was told to check back next Weds. Offer will still be on then......

Shop, Nice dress on the whistles Pinterest.

Does anyone know if pony skin type leather (the furry textured type) stretches in the same way as normal leather?

Having tried my KG flats on again before I wear them, am wondering if they r s bit tight.

QueenCadbury · 26/02/2013 14:11

Just had my grazia delivered. The whistles online code for anyone who wants it is WH25SS13.
