pinterest.com/about/help/

Great for ideas and putting outfits together, and highly addictive!

Drywhiteplease · 05/02/2013 20:40

mom this time last night I'd never been on Pinterest and now, thanks to this thread, I now have 3 boards!!!! I have done some fab virtual/dream shopping this evening ! It's easy....I'm a computer dimwit!

libertychick · 05/02/2013 20:45

Quick hi to all. Like Mrsap I am having a very busy work week and can't seem shake off heavy cold so a week of early nights in store. Purchase today was a glass storage jar to start a handbag fund! I WILL have a Balenciaga for my 40th - probably a small one Smile

Dec thankfully no crutches at the wedding - even though it hurt like hell I didn't go to A&E and kept walking on it so when pain eventually drove me to a walk in centre 3 weeks later the bone had actually mostly healed and had set in the right position! It was a beach wedding so went barefoot.

Loving all your pin boards - great inspiration.

QueenCadbury · 05/02/2013 21:17

Evening all. Loving all the pin boards.

To those that asked about the oushka bag, I decided not to get in in the end despite dh offering to buy it for me as a valentines gift! Marc Jacobs unfortunately is out of budget to whoever that suggested it.

I hadn't thought about using the inheritance thing for clothes. I use that excuse for jewellery and dd1 already has her eye on my Tiffany stuff!

LeFreakCestChic · 05/02/2013 22:14

Hello everyone. This is a very basic question about a wardrobe basic- how do you wear a white shirt...? To tuck or not to tuck?
I remember there was a tucking thread over the summer with a technique using a close fitting vest but it doesn't last long at all, fine if all you do is stand still. The half tuck looks, well, like you forgot to tuck yourself back in after going to the loo and the semi side tuck just looks daft if you dont work at Vogue HQ.

Even with all my shirt buttons done up a la Ashley Roberts rather than an open collar, I stand out- most of the other women look like Russian cabbage pickers .
How can a shirt pose such problems? And don't even get me started on how to wear a belt apart from through trouser loops .
On a positive note, the Nazi lipgloss is a lovely colour Grin

Sleepwhenidie · 05/02/2013 22:16

Hi shop the Gap skimmers are disappointing Sad. The denim is actually nice and soft but they don't work somehow, I asked DH what he thought and he didn't like them, said they looked cheap, which of course they were! They make work better in a bright colour for S/S but the denim ones are going back....back to premium brand search Smile, I did try!

I am contemplating ordering these leather leggings..thoughts on the different fabric on the back? Good idea/look or non?

Sleepwhenidie · 05/02/2013 22:17

Nazi lip gloss lefreak Grin?

Sleepwhenidie · 05/02/2013 22:18

Free little moustache perhaps Grin?

AmberNectarine · 05/02/2013 22:20

I tuck my shirts into my tights when I wear skirts

AmberNectarine · 05/02/2013 22:21

I tried those on before Christmas sleep. I'm on the fence to be honest, wasn't sure they were the most flattering, but then I am a bit chunky of thigh...

LeFreakCestChic · 05/02/2013 22:23

Ah sleep tis a rimmel gloss that iPad autocorrected to Rommel ( clearly a fascist iPad too).

LeFreakCestChic · 05/02/2013 22:24

So you are a shameless tucker then amber?

Sleepwhenidie · 05/02/2013 22:28

Hmm, mine certainly aren't gazelle like Amber - ok in skinny J Brands, won't fit into in Allsaints ones that are my waist size and most are a couple of inches too long for me.

Did you say your leather leggings are Joseph ones? They look very skinny!

shopafrolic · 05/02/2013 22:29

I tuck my shirts in (don't own a white one though!)

sleep shame about the GAP trial. I am starting to think that when you can buy premium denim at such reduced prices, £30 or more for GAP is too much. Thanks for reporting back though.

Like the look of the leggings. Saw the Joseph ones today in Anna. Lovely lovely.

Sleepwhenidie · 05/02/2013 22:29

Ah...missed that bit of thread Freak Grin

Sleepwhenidie · 05/02/2013 22:30

Hey shop, which branch of Anna? Could you be my neighbour?

LeFreakCestChic · 05/02/2013 22:30

these are lovely with boyfriend jeans , or posh harems perhaps...

shopafrolic · 05/02/2013 22:32

I'm in Hertfordshire sleep

Sleepwhenidie · 05/02/2013 22:35

Ah, not then..but it's a lovely (dangerous) thing, living close to an Anna shop, too much of my wardrobe has come from there, I am now quite matey with Anna herself if only it got me a discount

AmberNectarine · 05/02/2013 22:51

Totes a tucker, cannot abide an untucked shirt in the workplace.

sleep, mine are Freda, more of a skinny trouser than a legging here. Hopefully has a lovely Drome pair and I quite fancy these (with an appropriate discount, obvs!

BrandyAlexander · 05/02/2013 23:53

Hi! So am I the only one who does wear Gap skinnies??? I find that the Always Skinnies and High rise ones are perfect for me.

Have seen a couple of things on matches that I am thinking about overnight. Sigh.Smile

Mominatrix · 06/02/2013 06:18

I've tried on Gap jeans in the past, but they just don't suit me - not sure if it is the cut or the difficulty in finding my size there.

I am both a tucker and a untucked. For casual outfits, I generally untuck, especially with looser fit jumpers and skinnies. For a sleeker look and more formal, I tuck.

I have leather leggings which I purchased just at the cusp of the trend (4 years ago) from Joseph. I don't regret the ££ spent, as I have definitely gotten my moneys worth on them. I've been contemplating another pair, but in a skinny jean style or in a looser capri (a la Isabel Marant) style. Have not decided yet.

Hopefully · 06/02/2013 07:27

LeFreak I am an untucker, on the whole. But the only time I wear a shirt tends to be a loose-ish one cinched in with a waistcoat, so slightly different look to typical office look.

Annianni · 06/02/2013 07:33

Novice, i've been wearing gap and FC jeans for the past few years, and I find that they do fit nice when they are fresh on. But within an hour or 2, I end up with saggy knees and/or bum.

Today's my first day in premium denim.
I'm planning on wearing my crop Hudsons for a day out shopping.

I'll report back later on how I got on.

shopafrolic · 06/02/2013 07:44

Novice I still wear my red skinnies on my In My Wardrobe Pinterest board but other than that I sold all my others and went premium (with discount). If they fit you well and you are happy with them then don't change - no need! My GAP jeans made more money on EBay than my 7FAM so that tells you something!
I used to buy their 34 leg skinny jeans (rare to find on the High Street) and was perfectly happy with them until I had DS. Then with all the constant kneeling down I noticed how baggy they were getting at the knees. Not sure I should be suggesting crawling round after kids wearing premium denim but it works for me!
Have fun shopping Anni
