For lots of nice stuff, links and so on.

Hi sleepwhenidie, can't help you with colour as I love your grey wardrobe!

Dc3 got some cute pink shoes in the sale and I got nothing. Not sure why I expected anything different in the shops than last week but maybe I should give up on spring/summer and start on my AW wardrobe Grin.

Have searched everywhere (online and irl) for a cross body bag in grey large enough for toddler stuff. I'm debating on this but there's just something I'm not sure about. Thoughts anyone?

shopafrolic · 04/02/2013 14:05

Welcome along sleep. I love the Zara shoes on your board, it doesn't look too black to me, there are some lovely flashes of colour. Hopefully is our resident HoC lady and she also knows a thing or two about leather leggings......
Personally I'm a big fan of Hudson boots and then this thread led me to Ash Jalouse boots which are fab (I see you have some Bowies). Pistols are my dream but out of my price range.....
Haven't tried Goldsigns myself but they get good reports on here. I love my James jeans, and 7FAM.

Reporting back on Donna Ida purchases - IT WAS 97% SILK!!!!! But doesn't suit me, too tight on the arms and hangs strangely at the front.
But the Kain Cumin tee and the cashmere blend Majestic Sailor sweater are definite keepers. The cumin seems to be a good colour on me so I've also invested in this.

Loving all the new people joining in the fashion chat. Spring is on it's way!

BobbiFleckmann · 04/02/2013 14:17

since it's Awards season, are any of you ladies going, and if so what are you wearing? I am refusing to buy new this year and am going vintage either courtesy of Oxfam (an amazing gold / bronze jacquard 60's shift) or of my own wardrobe (the Moschino dress i wore for my 18th birthday party which is sadly so long ago, dress is now vintage not just old....) but as usual, need SHOES which won't cripple. And which have a platform.

Hopefully · 04/02/2013 15:01

Sleep I love your pinterest board, all looks really chic. I am so bad about keeping mine up, need to sort it out then I can link it with pride. It is such a good way of helping think up outfit combinations etc.

I adore my leather leggings, big time. They are very me (absolutely my style, no need to get up guts to wear them or anything!) and I wear them for v casual with Doc Marten Triumphs or slouchy biker boots, or for smart with patent LKB heels. Probably wear 1-3 times a week, so feel quite happy that I spent ridiculous sum on real leather. Worry that pleather would be sweaty.

Ooh, love the Kain tshirt Shop. Tempted. Shame the 97% silk(!) was no good.

Decameron · 04/02/2013 15:04

Hi Blondassassin, how are you?

Topaz, I hate sunbathing but Dove Daily Tanner is the business.

Bobbi, unfortunately not!

Sleepwhenidie, would you wear pink or green? Marsha wears yellow and she is blonde. Goldsign are great, I also like Paige and J Brand. I have pistols, also like Belstaff, Ash bowie or virgin for day to day in the winter. I started following you on Pinterest, initials are SM.

QueenCadbury, I like the colour but not sure about the shape.

I am getting a bit miffed as my Donna Ida order is still pending and I am in London, should have been here by now. Ordered Boden jeans as recommended by DMBL40 as I am a similar height and shape but I am a bit of a jeans snob so we will see.

Annianni · 04/02/2013 15:40

Decameron my 2nd Donna Ida order, that I placed this morning, has been dispatched already.
So i'd email them if I was you.

Decameron · 04/02/2013 15:45

Funny, I got a dispatch email just as I wrote that! Glad most of your order worked out, Anni.

QueenCadbury · 04/02/2013 16:04

You know decameron I think that's what it is that's bothering me-the shape of it. In all other ways it's perfect.

Just looked at dona Ida and wow, what bargains to be had. How do you all know what to order or do you already own the styles? I'm very much a gap real straight/bootcut girl and have never found any other jeans that fit. Not being in London I always wonder where I would try on premium jeans (I guess
JL or HOF maybe?)

Annianni · 04/02/2013 16:18

QueenCadbury i'm in the north west, so I went to Selfridges at the trafford centre for a trying on session.

I then just ordered a selection from Donna Ida to try.

Sleep I now have board envy :o

QueenCadbury · 04/02/2013 16:35

No selfridges in Bristol Grin

shopafrolic · 04/02/2013 17:01

QueenC I tried on in Selfridges and or Harrods as well as a local boutique that sells premium ranges. I'm in Hertfordshire. Then I source online (with the help of this thread). I used to wear GAP long and lean and skinnies but decided that premium is a better bet and usually only a few pounds more than full price jeans when you source in the sales.....

shopafrolic · 04/02/2013 17:31

There seems to be a Harvey Nichols in Bristol? They stock a lot of the brands usually.

blondassassin · 04/02/2013 17:37

Hi back Decam! Which Anya bag are you after? I nearly bought the cross-body satchel in orange from Bicester last year but wasn't 100% sure so bought a Burberry Brit cardicoat instead

Also a big fan of Dove daily stuff for the body, use either Clarins Radiance Year Round or Lancome Flash Bronzer on my face.

Sleep I'm also not good with pattern. May have the odd breton though! Also love your board and don't think it looks too dull. I have suede pistols bought in the sales, and currently loving my Ash Bea's (I am not sure what the difference with Bowie is) in taupe. I also have two pairs of Johnnie B flat ankle boots in tan and chocolate brown which seem to go with everything. Choc brown available this year here

I have the dark olive/khaki Joseph leather leggings bought in the sale which I love, agree they are easy to dress up or down. I know they're everywhere at the moment but still think classic enough to be worth the investment.

Shop - wow 97% silk!! What a shame it wasn't a good shape. Good to hear the Kain t and Majestic knit were keepers though. Tempted by the Kain Tees myself but the one size thing is putting me off.

shopafrolic · 04/02/2013 17:56

What size are you Blonde? I'm a 12/14 and they fit me well.....

MarshaBrady · 04/02/2013 18:07

Hi Blonde it's so hard to know! This is my first high rise skinny and got to say I love it, but I haven't tried enough to know what the norm is on waist etc to compare with. It could be worth trying as a bargain. I have sent you a pm Smile

Sleepwhenidie great to see you here. I love your wardrobe board, Very lovely indeed. I'm not sure I have anything in all yellow, just had shoes and skinnies. Even then the skinnies are very pale lemon yellow which is better for me.

QueenCadbury I like the colour of the bag too. How about the zatchel? Not sure what colours they come in. I saw some great bargainous jeans linked on another S&B thread will see if I can find them.

Shop love that Kain t. Looks a great colour too. And SILK! Who knew Grin

Bobbi hi, no unfortunately not. Sounds good. Do some links to shoes and we can help do the hunt?

I think real leather leggings are worth it, because there's no way if I had them I'd only wear them for one year. So I would say they'll still be looking good. Probably over pleather however.

Really keen to try Goldsign now if they have a higher waist.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 04/02/2013 18:36

Winefairy linked this incredible bargain from BrandAlley on another thread James Jeans. But they are black. A great discount 90% Grin

Also these straight leg. ach only size 24

Or bootcut better sizes.

But yes to doing a trying on session.

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 04/02/2013 18:57

I have a pair of black leather Freda skinnies, bought for a snip in the Matches sale and can see myself wearing them for a very long time. I want a pair of Drome real leggings style ones that Hopefully has too.

Denim wise, I often just take a punt. Now I've found my perfect style (Goldsign high rise Virtual) I buy in every colour.

Today I wore indigo Virtuals, white Vince vest, grey marl short sleeve A&W sweatshirt and grey/kilim fabric Cobra Society cowboy boots.

Decameron · 04/02/2013 19:30

You might like Goldsign Lure, Marsha, I have them but they are a size too big, need another pair.

BlondeAssassin, the coat sounds like a good buy. I'd like this bag or something similar. Also going to look for a pale coloured LK Bennett Annina bag. If not, I am going to keep the money for a Coach bag, I like this.

MarshaBrady · 04/02/2013 19:51

They look perfect Decam.

Thanks!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 04/02/2013 19:52

Great bags too, gosh that was a good discount on the Anya!

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 04/02/2013 19:55

Queen I love your bag, was looking at

bag
but it's big and actually like yours better.

sleep didn't realise people did boards of their clothes! I love it! I want to see more, does anyone else do them on here....v inspiring

blondassassin · 04/02/2013 19:59

Agree those Goldsigns look lovely. I did Grin at the model trying to walk in those heels on the video though. Probably how I look tbh. I did once get asked if I had something the matter with my leg whilst tottering about in 4 inch heels at a black tie do once Hmm!

QueenCadbury · 04/02/2013 20:02

I always forget about Harvey nicks. Went in there once to look for maternity bras and that's it. Might go up to Birmingham and do a selfridges try on one day.

Thanks for the comments on the bag. I've decided not to get it as I just don't love it enough. My perfect grey bag is out thee somewhere waiting for me Grin. marsha I only like the zatchels saddlebags and barrells not the actual satchels but thanks anyway.

Decameron · 04/02/2013 20:08

I know, I wish I'd got it from My-Wardrobe at that price. Sigh.

Blondassassin, the guys I worked with used to call me Bambi after I lost my footing and went splat on the trading floor. That was a bad, bad day.

You're right to wait, Queen.

Decameron · 04/02/2013 20:09

Drywhiteplease, I like that J Crew bag a lot. I'm Suze Mc on Pinterest.
