Hi Amber am thinking about some Supergas for SS. Noticed you have lots on your boards...... Are they comfy, hard wearing, etc etc any tips on sizing also appreciated!

Sleepwhenidie · 04/02/2013 20:45

Thanks for the comments everyone, I went to get the yellow top this afternoon but they didn't have my size, so I called into another shop down the road that sells similar labels, saw the bright blue sweater and got that! They had these Mother jeans in, reduced to £90. Didn't have time to try them but I'm tempted, except perhaps a little similar to my Preen trousers?

You are all being an expensive influence already very encouraging about the leather leggings, I am going to have to try some and then maybe wait for sales again unless I can eBay enough stuff to raise funds, I too am supposed to be on a spending amnesty Smile. I like the idea of a colour other than black....

hopefully where did you get your leather leggings from in the end?

Loving seeing other people's boards, some gorgeous things.

shopafrolic great scarves and boots! Which way would you go, Pistols or Jalouse?

Amber I love your AM skirt, wish I could think of an occasion I could wear it myself but can't! When/ how do you wear it?

Hi *Marsha, I am Envy at your Celine bag and the flippy skirt and Sandro top are adorable. I'm thinking you must have fab legs based on that skirt and the great shorts you've pinned - again Envy!

Blonde I think we share a bit of a love of clingy draped tops/dresses and lovely knitwear Grin

Anni - your red tote and Tiffany cocktail ring are just gorgeous.

Hi all! And hello as well to all the new people who have posted today! have loved catching up on the links. Today, I used the Marcie bag. Love love love it! Perfect size, feel, everything.Grinit looked great against a My not very exciting suit. I did also get to wear my Raindance ring out properly for the first time out today. I found mylf absent mindedly stroking it.Grin

I got home this evening and the Balenciaga was waiting for me. So far I have only purred at it, but will use it tomorrow and report back.

shopafrolic · 04/02/2013 20:54

Hi Sleep. Sweater sounds good and those jeans are lovely and would work with lots of things.......
In terms of boots, I've never dared to try Pistols so am not qualified to comment but I do love my Ash Jalouse. My Hudsons are my go to day to day boots.
Amber or Marsha I think one or both of you has Pistols? Or am I getting confused?
This thread does get very tempting. I'm EBaying lots to get the things I really want. The nicest thing as that I know the clothes I'm buying now will last so much longer and be much more loved.

MarshaBrady · 04/02/2013 20:58

Mine was looking a little sparse so I updated with some stuff. Funny a little trip down memory lane looking at NaP, my-wardrobe and the outnet orders. Some clangers in there! So glad I sent them back. Grin

I couldn't find M by Marc Jacobs boots or Bruno ones, and am sure there's more. Probably the Liberty stuff.

Here's mine.

Shop I'm a 10 on top half but broad shoulders/athletic shaped. Do you think the Kain tees would be ok? I quite like my tees loose fitted to balance out skinnies.

Sleep I have Pistols and tried Jalouse and personally preferred the tighter fit around the ankle of the Pistols. The Jalouse looked a bit odd with my scrawny ankles/legs poking out the top! So tricky though, best to try.

MarshaBrady · 04/02/2013 21:02

Aww thanks Sleep!

Shop I have suede pale pistols and I'm pretty sure Amber has black ones.

Novice you're in new bag heaven Grin.

blondassassin · 04/02/2013 21:05

Sleep - yes you've got me to a tee! Love a drapey tee and nice knits Grin.

Boots are another pet thing, love the warm weather for getting out but hate putting the boots and jumpers away!

shopafrolic · 04/02/2013 21:07

Blond. I think you'd be fine with the Kain tees. The one I have is a very lightweight fabric, so needs to be worn as layers anyway.

belsize77 · 04/02/2013 21:08

Just delurking to ask about the Goldsigns sizing Amber. I think I have the same High rise virtuals as you - the ones that were 30 quid in Selfridges sale last year. I posted on the W & A thread at the time. They are the best jeans I have ever had and I am after the indigo ones now - would you say the sizing is the same in the different colours/washes? I would just order and try them on myself but am pregnant so they won't fit in any size ATM. They are so pricey that I have eBay and google searches on them running and want to be ready to pounce...If not then maybe Shopbop.

Enjoying the revitalised thread and all the links.

AmberNectarine · 04/02/2013 21:21

belsize AMAZING aren't they? Yes, same sizing. Indigo slightly lighter weight. I get mine from Shopbop, c.£120, but I've definitely had my money's worth.

shop Supergas are my go-to spring footwear with ankle grazing skinnies and a chunky knit. Slightly large to size, very hardwearing. Even DS (3) has a little lime green pair!

sleep I wear it to work mostly, with a burgundy shirt, or a fine knit black polo neck. Am going to try it with the Me&Em Grecian top. For nights out a simple black vest and Louboutins/Pistols does the job nicely.

libertychick · 04/02/2013 21:22

Welcome Sleep and Bobbi
Topaz love the AR orders. Am tempted by the white shirt....

My Des Petit Hauts jumper arrived and is sadly going back. It commits the cardinal fashion crime of stopping at the exact widest point of my hips. I consoled myself by buying these Clarks ballet flats at lunchtime.

AnniAnni great feedback - I am now utterly convinced I need the Hudson babyboots in my life.

In interests of full disclosure this is my pin board. My Donna Ida order arrived today but DH wasn't in to sign - bah! He is collecting it tomorrow for me which is great.

Dec I see your shoe horror story and raise you mine - fell over on a relatively low wedge walking to a meeting and broke a bone in my foot in two places SIX WEEKS BEFORE MY WEDDING!!!!

Hopefully · 04/02/2013 21:27

Blonde I had the same with the jalouse - my legs looked all weird and bony sticking out the top.

QueenBOObread · 04/02/2013 21:52

I am loving how this thread is rattling along, and all of the new joiners. I am also loving the enabling, not that I need much encouragement!

I have a couple of pairs of Goldsigns which are actually v different from each other. The Raya are high rise, proper strong denim and look great, but my Misfit are my favourites. The wash is really flattering and they feel just like velvet I like to stroke them. They are less tough though and have gone at the knee.

I wish Goldsign did a combination of the two - I really do prefer a true high rise but the Misfit fabric is just delicious.

Topazandpearl · 04/02/2013 21:53

The AR order has arrived. Love them both. The shirt is a bit see-through, which I expected, but as I wanted it for under other layers, that's ok. It's meant to be dry clean only(!) but I'm pretty confident that with some tlc 'twill be fine! Pleased with the red skinnies as well. I look forward to wearing a bit of colour.
Thanks for all the pin links. Will go and have a browse.

Drywhiteplease · 04/02/2013 21:54

Oh my god ladies I'm now following all you're n boards........new to Pinterest, if I follow you how do I get updates? E mail? Pinterest looks a bit addictive, no hope of ever reading a book again!!! Inspirational.
amber do you own all of it? If so how long I'd it take to get all of that lot?
Decameron I wish you hadn't said that about the J Brand bag.....now I'm wanting it all over again! Btw Londoners has the J Brand shop opened (on Regent st?) yet....which end and worth a visit when I come down?

Drywhiteplease · 04/02/2013 21:56

Sorry predictive text ......" I'm following all your pin boards" and Amber "how long did it take........"

QueenCadbury · 04/02/2013 22:00

Ha ha, yes, Pinterest is hugely addictive. It's my new time waster.

Drywhiteplease · 04/02/2013 22:07

Right I now know how to see boards...step 2 is to create my own. This is fab! ( and nosey Grin)

belsize77 · 04/02/2013 22:12

Thanks Amber and Queen. It's that lovely soft denim fabric that does it.

On a slightly random note relating to somebody mentioning high end type discounts up thread I just wanted to mention that I had some great discounts before Christmas via Amex and Foursquare, link explains it.

Useless without an Amex card and smartphone/iPad of course but great if you do happen to have these. The Christmas deals were at Liberty, Selfridges, Harvey Nicks etc...I just bought gift vouchers for the minimum spend on mine and DH's partner card and then waited for the sales with my free money or 50% discount.

This month's offers are at Harrods, House of Fraser, Banana Republic and Gap.

QueenBOObread · 04/02/2013 22:13

Today's arrivals from My-Wardrobe:

APC "Breton" although I think we actually might be in stripy top territory if I'm honest. Slightly boxy fit and loose arms - I like! More summery. It looks good with black - I tried it with my trusty Gap coated skinnies (c2010) which worked well.

It looks cute with the skirt, no? Can't face paying £220 for that though, so would be interested in more bargainous alternatives.

And these: snakeskin ballerinas which have a fun shimmer. I like them more than I expected, they do just work.

QueenBOObread · 04/02/2013 22:14

Belsize are your Virtuals soft? Are they the high rise Misfit?

Sleepwhenidie · 04/02/2013 22:21

OMG QueenCadbury, just looked at your fantasy wardrobe board - swoon!
