For lots of nice stuff, links and so on.

Well amber ignore. Don't understand why people need to be nasty .....I like S and B because I can read/ talk about clothes without feeling guilty.can't be bothered to read the nasty thread then.
Isn't a Primark vest good enough ?Wink

AmberNectarine · 03/02/2013 09:41

I know, I'm so profligate spending £3.99 on a vest when I could get one for £2. I could be spending the change on Oxfam goats.

Annianni · 03/02/2013 09:53

I'm sure you could make some pants from an old duster or something, to keep the moaning minnies happy.

I wear m&s 3 for a tenner pants because i'm boring I did get a nice set from the Rosie for autograph range.

shopafrolic · 03/02/2013 10:09

I wear Freya Amber, purely cos I love a matching set and their bras are the only ones that fit me. Or good old M&S on can't be bothered to match days!

QueenBOObread · 03/02/2013 10:17

I would be cross too Amber. God, could you imagine if one of us expressed the equivalent thought - "I'm so sick of all the cheap links and the competitive poorness". There'd be uproar! It's just so .

Hey ho.

Today I'm in Acne neon yellow sweater, Goldsign Raya high rise jeans and Hudson Encke's in coal.

MarshaBrady · 03/02/2013 10:22

Gorgeous outfit QueenBoo. Love acne neons. Have a bright citrus angora scarf (although I know that will make Liberty itch Grin). It is fabulous but leaves more hairs than a cat. Last time I wore it I took a de-fluffer with me in my bag.

I have a few expensive bits of underwear but the range is from Rigby & Peller (rare), Bodas, but mostly cheap as chips bundle packs from good old M&S.

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 03/02/2013 10:25

Oooooo talk to me about your Enckes QueenBoo. Have you had them long? What do you wear them with (just jeans?)? Have they worn well? I love them. And these....
pinterest.com/shopafrolic1/wish-list-just-dreaming/

shopafrolic · 03/02/2013 10:27

That should have linked to the Rosse boots on that board. Sorry!

QueenBOObread · 03/02/2013 10:43

I've had the Encke's since October(?) I think! They've been my go-to practical footwear almost every day (less so now that I'm back at work, natch). They are supposed to looked a bit battered so they've done the whole parks/playgrounds/mud thing and have come out ok but clean up so you'd never know.

I tuck skinnies into them but have also worn with casual dresses. Would give a big thumbs up.

Marsha I have a practically unworn Tom Baker Mulberry angora scarf which makes me look as though I have been rolling around in my cat's basket. First time I put it on, it was for a trip into the office mid-maternity leave and I needed to look smart. Ended up in Cafe Nero de-furring myself with a roll of masking tape!

The only answer is to buy a camel coat...

LeFreakCestChic · 03/02/2013 10:51

Hello, delurking to ask when Matches/NAP/ My wardrobe are likely to have promo codes? Love the links so far ladies!
Am v bored of end of sales and dark colours and need to wear more colour both at work and weekends. Having said that, have spotted a nice charcoal velvet skinny ( note the singular please) -mild concern over possible frumpy factor though. Thoughts?
amber fig leaves do great knickers, I can vouch for the plain suck it all in boob highgirdlespants

MarshaBrady · 03/02/2013 10:59

QueenBoo I know. It's bonkers. It's better without a coat. Am waiting for the weather to sit just at that level where you can wear just a jumper and scarf. A fresh, crisp sunny day at what 14 degrees. Come on London.

Hi LeFreak welcome! Not sure on promo codes, usually sent if there are a high amount of purchases I think, from those places. Link to velvet skinnies? Could be good!

OP posts:
sansucre · 03/02/2013 11:41

LeFreak

NaP never do promo codes, at least not that I've ever heard of. (Well, not for mortals like us, I'm sure those in the business do have a special code.)

Matches occasionally offer free delivery, so it's best to sign up to email.

My-Wardrobe occasionally offer free delivery and the odd discount, so it's best to sign up to their email too. They also offer a loyalty scheme, which has its own benefits.

Ooh fab, I hadn't thought of Not on the high street, QueenCadbury. Thank you, there are some lovely things on there, and I have got 2 40ths and another birthday this month so will have a proper look around later.

Today, I am wearing a Kaliko cowl neck top. dh looked at it and said "very chiffony" Shock. I have some nice stuff from Kaliko's AW 2012 collection but their size 8s are huge which is annoying (bit like coast). I am also wearing my Gap high rise skinnies, and when I was out earlier, I had my Aquatalia flat knee high boots, black John Lewis Collection winter coat and pink pashmina. Now wearing slipper boots!

Decameron · 03/02/2013 11:53

Well, I had sworn off Mumsnet after bench/Bretongate but this thread is drawing me back in!

Amber, ignore! My neighbour practically rugby tackled me yesterday to find out from where I bought my Ash Ambers. I like Calvin Klein for underwear, also Sloggi and good old M&S (not very exciting).

LeFreak, have you registered with Matches and My-W? They sometimes send codes to entice you if you haven't shopped much. I have black velvet skinny MiH jeans, I like them.

Liberty, I think we may be compatriots?

Novice, that bag is just beautiful.

Shop, I like your wishlist, esp the Burberry peacoat. I am definitely getting on next autumn (I say this every year).

I have been thinking about getting my colours done too and can see from photos that too much black is not great and know which colours are bad on me, but still a bit wary of having it done as I have spent so much on my wardrobe, I can't get rid of it! I wish I'd had it done when I was much younger. I think I will be marching the DDs along when they are teenagers.

I have not been buying much recently as going to Bicester next week and want a new Anya Hindmarch bag. I ordered these from the Donna Ida sale but my order is still pending so hope it is not cancelled.

Sorry about the double post!

Hi lefreak and welcome back Decameron Grin

QueenCadbury · 03/02/2013 12:26

amber I 2nd the m&s 3 for £10 pants. If you choose wisely most of them are non vpl. I find it's good to size up though.

AmberNectarine · 03/02/2013 12:28

Today I'm wearing a grey chunky knit Alexander Wang jumper over my new neon yellow 2nd day tshirt underneath (jumper has side splits for a flash of neon), black Goldsign leggings, Nike black wedge high tops and a black/white/grey checked scarf from Maje.

Hopefully · 03/02/2013 13:09

Has anyone bought anything by Sandwich? They seem to have a lot of autumn colours, including some nice basics, but an always quality-wary of new brands.

Have upgraded from pjs to Drome petrol colour leather leggings (love!), long H&M teal vest, cream topshop sweater (horrible acrylic but nice shape) and doc marten triumph boots.

Hopefully · 03/02/2013 13:10

Oh and Amber I go for the no volume m&s pants when on a budget, and lejaby no vpl ones when not on a budget.

Hopefully · 03/02/2013 13:10

No volume?! No VPL.

MarshaBrady · 03/02/2013 13:25

Nice Amber and Hopefully

Great to see you here Decam Smile, love the Donna Ida sales buy.

I'm in indigo avedon skinnies and Sonia Rykiel skinny navy and white striped sweater. Green Stella M coat and well-worn pistols. Chilly.

Afraid I haven't heard of Sandwich Hopefully, any links?

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 03/02/2013 13:50

Waves hello to Decam. I need to update that wish list and remove the lack since having my colours done! But the Burberry is definitely staying on there. One day......
Another prune day today. Prune mohair A&W jumper and A&W chinos with these boots
pinterest.com/pin/122230577356543892/
Which are now looking beautifully beaten .
QueenBoo thanks for the feedback. They are definitely going to have to become mine! I love Hudsons.
Haven't heard of Sandwich Hopefully.

libertychick · 03/02/2013 14:56

Feeling lousy today, sore throat, DD ill too so was up all night. Appearance reflects this. Wearing 2 items I really should throw out. Gap bootlegs that are too big but I am convinced the minute I chuck them out all the weight will go on again! and a fat face grey half jumper/half poncho thing that never seems to work no matter how I style it. They are on a 'maybe' pile of clothes that I am making myself wear so see if they deserve one last chance before they get dispatched into the Salvation Army bin. I think it's safe to say they are doomed.

In case any of you wear shorts these ones look great on the Donna Ida sale. I would so love to have great legs. I am hoping DD has inherited her father's long skinny leg gene rather than my cankle/fat knee/sturdy thigh gene! At 2 it's hard to tell!

And I realised I forgot to link the crumpet cardi I am waiting eagerly for.

Amber - ignore and keep linking all your lovely stuff. For pants I do M&S as well. Size up at least 2 sizes to avoid VPL and also Gap do some v comfy low slung boy shorts that I like.

Decameron - yes I am Irish. If the wedding ring didn't give it away then the above description of my legs would have done - typical westie where the breeding has favoured women with the preferred leg shape for chasing sheep up the side of the mountain.

Lovely boots shop

Waves to everyone else - I am loving this thread!
