For lots of nice stuff, links and so on.

Hopefully · 02/02/2013 20:01

Hello everyone! Haven't had 3 seconds to hang out here for months, but off to catch up on links now.

Hopefully · 02/02/2013 20:05

Amber love the balenciaga. Which reminds me, need to phone AH about my maxi zip satchel, have only had it 5 months and strap clip broken. Boo.

Really rate Me&Em stuff, love their jersey. Currently wondering how wrong a 3rd ruched cap sleeved dress would be...

shopafrolic · 02/02/2013 20:15

Good buys Amber, did you get the Tibi sweater or the sweatshirt that you've been linking too? Saw a sweater the other day in red with the lobster which I quite liked....
Love the crochet knit and the sound of neon. I'm craving colour now and a bit p#ssed off at being an Autumn. Am starting to think I may disregard a lot of it!! I'm missing black as a base colour too much and when she held the swatch against me she even said it wasn't too bad a colour on me even though I'm an Autumn. Brown does look better but it is SO DULL. And for spring summer I'll be in cream, peacock and red I think!! And yet I love greys and neons. I'm jealous!! Quiet day today, DH recovering from jet lag and me from my stinking cold. Donna Ida order has despatched so will report back on top!

shopafrolic · 02/02/2013 20:17

Waves at Hopefully! Nice to see you back blogging! Funny that you've come back just as I start moaning about colours. Sorry! Feeling disenchanted about what to wear for SS! X

shopafrolic · 02/02/2013 20:17

Plus I guess Autumns can't do monochrome. Rant over!

MarshaBrady · 02/02/2013 20:21

I love greys, neons and monochrome Shop, not sure on my colours but am going with it!

Love that dress on hopefully's blog. The orange one. Malene Birger I think.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 02/02/2013 20:23

Might have to give it a whirl this summer. orange M Birger.

BrandyAlexander · 02/02/2013 20:34

Amber that top is gorgeous! Marsha, I agree that dress is also gorgeous. Smile So many lovely things on this thread. Dab Grin

MarshaBrady · 02/02/2013 20:36

Novice how's the Balenciaga? has your dh seen it yet Grin

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 02/02/2013 20:44

And I would really love this Vanessa Bruno. Love a good waffle knit.

Drywhite meant to say that is a lovely brooch but can see what you mean about being specific! Grin

OP posts:
Hopefully · 02/02/2013 20:49

shop if you are feeling disenchanted maybe try hunting down some warm greys. Intend to do neon orange if I fancy a neon pop. Yellow would be better than pink though. Step away from the black if you possibly can - adding it will make putting outfits together so unnecessarily difficult!

Hopefully · 02/02/2013 20:52

Marsha I am feeling church-mouse-poor at the moment, but really hope I can order the malene birger before it sells out. Am also still lusting after this one too.

MarshaBrady · 02/02/2013 20:53

Love that too Hopefully. I won't get the Birger yet either, better not sell out.

OP posts:
libertychick · 02/02/2013 21:00

Great dresses Hopefully and love the Velvet crochet jumper Amber (and the bag but trying to ignore bags at the moment - too distracting)

Drywhite DH will be told EXACTLY what I want! Luckily he prefers it that way.

Shop sympathies on the black! I think I have been subconsciously putting off getting my colours done in case I'm told black doesn't suit me - I would probably have to lie in a darkened room for a week to cope with the shock.

Hopefully · 02/02/2013 21:04

I love not having black. . I occasionally lament grey a bit though...

MarshaBrady · 02/02/2013 21:07

I have black and have blonde hair (ie probably off the cards). But I do love it every now and again.

OP posts:
libertychick · 02/02/2013 21:09

I think not wearing black makes people much more interesting - I sometimes look around at work especially at meetings and the women who are not wearing black stand out in a good way. The shock for me though would be the loss of a 'uniform' and the cost of restocking my wardrobe - that said I am determined to bite the bullet and get it done.

shopafrolic · 02/02/2013 21:10

Thanks Hopefully. Good tips! Especially re: neon and grey. And I hadn't thought about the matching issue with black.... Funnily enough I picked up a neon orange belt last summer so might hunt that down first...
And YY to the discussions about specific instructions for DH. Although I was lucky enough to get some diamond earrings chosen by him on our wedding day. That's the only jewellery he's ever been brave enough to choose without me - I am very picky though!

shopafrolic · 02/02/2013 21:12

Are you and Autumn Hopefully? What colours will you be wearing this Spring?

shopafrolic · 02/02/2013 21:15

In other news....Carine Roitfield is Harper's new global fashion director. Swoon. This March issue is enormous! Lots of lovely things.

Drywhiteplease · 02/02/2013 21:19

Funny this....I'm on a black ban too. Sick to death of it.....
Btw ladies I popped into R and B today and stroked those ballerinas i linked the other day for a bit, really they are lovely and the chain strap matching bag is divine! Bother. Now I'm going to try to be really good this month.......I actually need them in my wardrobe.

MarshaBrady · 02/02/2013 21:24

I don't have much. A Wang knit and a Lanvin dress, oh and a Ce Me one.

Am interested in the black cord skinnies coming from Donna Ida, might be a bit too much now.

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 02/02/2013 21:25

Agree that black is hard. Can look drab next to colour or make colour look cheap. I really only wear black with navy, grey or cobalt. Love head to tow black, in a variety of textures, lucky it works on me.

I need that silver Balenciaga. eBay time.

for Hopefully

Marsha Matches was amazing, plus my friend is the area manager, so good excuse for a natter and browse through the look book. Some lovely cashmere in Question Air and some gorgeous Equipment shirts in Trilogy.

Also went to local dress agency today and picked up this which I admired at the time, but was still fat after DD. Will be good with burgundy Kors heels for work. Some lovely stuff in there Marni, Stella, Prada, Lanvin to name a few!

MarshaBrady · 02/02/2013 21:28

Lovely dress Amber. Lucky friend! Assuming there are discounts. The Marylebone one has so many assistants in it, all wearing lovely stuff. I always feel slightly dizzy when I go in, probably the combination of the music and such nice stuff.

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 02/02/2013 21:43

40% marsha though not sale stuff.
