Anyone want to loose just a few pounds, lets support eachother?

Madmog · 07/01/2013 14:23

I followed the loose half a stone for Xmas thread which I found really helpful. I lost 5.5lbs and put 2.5lbs back on over Xmas. I'm quite small boned and few pounds really makes the difference, but I need encouragement to get just a little more off (4/5lbs so I hit the overall over half stone mark would be good for me) and keep it off.

Is there anyone out there who wants to loose just a few pounds up to a stone, who'd like to join me on this thread? We could record our losses or failures once a week and give general support and advice if we have any.

Lost 1.8 lbs this week. Not quite the mega loss of last week, but fine. Though I do need a poo - maybe that weighs 5 lbs?

Am I too late to join this? My weight has always been around 8.5 stone and that's where I feel most comfortable. Over the last few months I've been eating rubbish and have put on about a stone. I feel crap about it because I've always had a really healthy diet and I don't know what's wrong with me. I seriously need to get rid of this stone and feel back to normal.

I'm not going to diet, just try and eat normally like I've done for most of my adult life. I've never been overweight since I was a teenager and I feel crap! I also need to do more exercise. I used to do loads and for the last few months I've done hardly any. I feel so good when I do exercise and when I don't feel bloated all the time.

Only going to weigh once a week though or I will become obsessive. Good luck every one on here.

Welcome Hippychickster. Sounds like you've got a sensible approach to dieting. Hi Joycey!

Was up most of the night with poorly DS2, and stuffed my face with chocolate. But calories eaten by the white light of the fridge at 4am don't count. 'Tis true scientific fact.

On the plus side, I'm loving the Hairy Bikers' diet cookbook. Had beef and ale casserole last night, crumpets with yogurt, berries and honey for breakfast, and masala chicken marinating in the fridge for tonight. All low-calorie (as long as you stick to the right portion size).

Hi ladies, haven't checked in with you guys for a while. S&b is beginning to p me off a bit so I haven't been on as much as I had been.

My news is I'm down to my target of 9st4. Hurrah. Just need to carry on with mfp though so I don't pile it all back on!

Hope you're all good...

Yay - weighed in today and another 1 lb gone!
Actually it was nearly 1.5lb but not quite so will save the half towards next week!

As to late night snacks having no calories - couldn't agree more!

Also can I add that Broken biscuits have no calories either Wink

I weighed in again yesterday - a day later than normal but I keep forgetting and never want to do it after I've eaten (that 200g or so of porridge really counts Grin)
Anyway - I'm down to 8st 12 - yippee! That's 12lb since the start of December and 16lb in total since I started weighing myself in October. Only 2 to go to hit my target - but I might just keep going for a bit to give me a buffer zone as I have a habit of yoyoing - maybe until Easter then I can eat some chocolate as a reward

Hi all, also haven't been on for a while as I needed to step away and get some perspective! This week has been really stressful so far, there are some major work issues going on which means I've missed all my exercise so far this week. I've been ok food wise so I'm probably going to try and maintain for a week r so to get past this family death / work problems hump and then I can focus myself again with more of a positive approach! Good luck everyone x

Congratulations ladies, you are all doing well. Sweetheart hope things will settle down soon - don't forget we're here!

Confession time, I haven't really been watching my wdiet this week. I blame the cold weather and being due on!! I've only been out walking when I had to in the snow, had period pains yesterday so didn't fancy my exercise class and I know I've been eating more (although I've tried to limit some things!). Anyway, the result is that I've stayed the same.

Hope you enjoyed your casserole, Joycey. We had family around on Saturday evening (who have massive appetites so had to do something filling), so had the options of lasagne and pizza on the table, with crusty bread - oh, and there was a low calorie salad. We washed it down with some white wine!

How's everyone getting on?

Morning all,

How is everyone? It's been quiet!

Well I had a week off totally, it's been good and I feel ready to get back on track. I've put on 1 Ib which is great considering all that I've eaten and drunk. I'm going to have quite a strict week this week I think if I can manage it to give myself a bit of a kick start.

How is everyone else doing? There seem to be alot of you still tracking well on MFP.

Hi all

Your dinner sounds lush, Madmog... and welcome back Sweetheart, hope the funeral went as well as it could. 1lb gain is nothing!

Lost 3.5lbs last week which was great - lost over a stone since I started after Christmas. I think it's come off so quickly partly because I'm still breastfeeding a bit - only a couple of times a day, and my milk supply seems unaffected, so I guess my body's using my fat to make the milk!

Decided that Sundays are going to be my day off the diet - had an amazing roast chicken last night, followed by Nigella's sticky toffee pudding and custard. Low-fat custard though, and I only had one helping, where before I'd have scoffed loads, so habits are changing for the better.

Bad bad bad weekend. Dinner at friends on Saturday - I reckon that meal alone was 1200 calories - delicious though! And Sunday no better. So am refusing to weigh in this week and will wait until next weekend!

Glad to see everyone still wanting to stick with it despite everything life grows at us.

Weigh in tomorrow - not expecting much but want to be in my buffer zone. Not going back to 10st12!!

Being good this week but three late work nights and that makes it hard!

I'm still here. Still eating cake and choc, less than before but I can't cut them out, so I'm sticking to the exercise (3X week, sometimes more). I think I've become quite addicted to it. This is my fourth week of running, and I really like it. I'm building up my stamina and running longer distances. Maybe I'll be able to do a marathon eventually....

Despite several calorie laden days - lost 0.5lb!
Think mfp has just made me more aware of what I eat.
How's everyone else doing?

Sweetheart - hope this week is going ok for you and your family.

Have to admit I haven't lost any again this week as I lost my way. On the positive side I've had smaller portions of some things and haven't put any on. The canteen at work are starting to give away leftovers they can't keep, so getting the offer of food to eat there and bring home - today bought home a 30x15cm jam tart - not good caloriewise. Also, still have loads of Xmas chocolate and biscuits we were given. I still want to loose a little more but am determined to keep the weight off I've lost.

Hi guys,

Having a better week than last week so far food AND stress wise! thanks for everyones comments Grin

I'm hoping this week will show a good 2Ib loss but I weigh Saturday morning and we are out for a family birthday Friday evening so we'll see. I'm kindof at the point where I'm fairly happy and it's just the number on the scales bugging me so I'm thinking I should stop getting so het up about it all. Saying that I am thinking of starting a exercise programme called "Insanity" which is a 60 day programme which is supposed to be very very tough but give amazing results. The set is over £100 though so I'm trying to get it 2nd hand at the moment.

It's great to see that although everyone is not having big losses we all seem happy and content with the things we are learning about the food we eat and exercise. It's also great to see so many people consistantly logging into mfp. I have to say I quite often miss the weekends but I noticed today some of you have logged about 20 days in a row - wow, well done I personally think that's brilliant!

xXx

Thanks Joyce, I'm planning on being good at the meal tonight, I'll drive so no booze and I'll stick to something fairly health (she says!!!!) Grin

I'll be interested to see how my weigh in turns out tomorrow considering I haven't exactly had the best, most focused of months. I'd be really pleased if I've managed to loose 4Ibs this month - it will take me back to my pre-Christmas weight and my 1st goal marker (although I think I will have only lost 3). if I've managed 4 it will leave me only 4 left to my main goal. fingers crossed!!!!!

Hi all, sounds like you're all doing well. I'm still doing mfp except at weekends as I know that I'll be way over my calorie limit and it's just too depressing to see it written down! Overall though I'm maintaining my weight by being good and following it for the other 5 days so I'm happy!

thefarmerhasawife · 02/02/2013 20:49

Sweetheart if you do start Insanity will you let me know how tough it is please? I quite like the sound of it but boy it sounds hardcore! Not sure I'm that desperate to get ripped!

Well done everyone on your losses! I keep bloody cheating and forgetting to add stuff on mfp!
