MrsBucketxx · 05/12/2012 14:13

yes what the altenative, no one has sugested a jot yet.

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 14:13

Poor sad post baby women flock to white stuff with their billowing stomaches and are forced into flimsy mimsy printed top habit which can only be broken by repeated visits to a hall of mirrors

Themumsnot · 05/12/2012 14:13

I have burned all my tunics and am now embracing the sequin short with pride. DD2 is going to be so thrilled when I turn up to her school concert tonight.

wasabipeanut · 05/12/2012 14:14

So, tunics & leggings bad
Slouchy knit & skinnies ok?

The silhouette created by each of these is similar surely?
For the record I favour the latter with biker boots but only because I cannot wear leggings - they all make me look hideous. Am a 10 top, 12 bottom. Seeing as leggings are basically the same as skinny jeans or dark tights I can never quite work out why. But they do.

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 14:15

I am going to wear leather skinnies, sequinned jacket and stilettos until I am informed otherwise by mumsnet

laptopdancer · 05/12/2012 14:16

Aren't leather baggies the thing for winter?

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 14:16

I am now wearing leather baggies

laptopdancer · 05/12/2012 14:17

phew!

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 14:18

[awaits further instuction]

OliviaPeaceOnEarthMumsnet · 05/12/2012 14:18

laptopdancer · 05/12/2012 14:20

I have to go for my run to the pie shop now so will be keen to see the response to alternagtives when I get back

MrsJingleBells74 · 05/12/2012 14:21

Is the problem with tunics that bad, every time I try to flip the thread to just read the end I get thrown out of the whole app?Shock

MrsBucketxx · 05/12/2012 14:21

yup me too, marks place.

seems op has disapered, i sent a question to ask gok to see what he suggests.

Themumsnot · 05/12/2012 14:22

We have it all figured out folks. The alternative is here.

needsomeair · 05/12/2012 14:22

Does anyone know where I can get a full-length, full-face Burkha? (is that the right word?)

I feel the need for such an outfit after reading this thread.

Blue or black I wonder?

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 05/12/2012 14:24

You may be waiting some time for anna wintour the op to come back with some stylish suggestions.

Not so long ago she was recommending clothes from next.

So she knows fark all Wink

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 14:26

Outrage is all very well but it is threads like this that have saved many of you from waterfall cardies

Themumsnot · 05/12/2012 14:28

Whips out waterfall cardi from behind back and adds to smouldering heap of tunics. Shivers helplessly in manner of newborn lamb.

EdgarAllanPond · 05/12/2012 14:28

tunic has had its day.

before that the solution was bootcut jeans (wide leg at foot level to counterbalance wide arse)

before then.. was it A-line skirts? and before then Culottes?

where next? who knows!

pourmeanotherglass · 05/12/2012 14:29

I'm 42 and a bit overweight, and I'll wear a long jumper if I want to. So there. Not with leggings though, I'm too old and fat for those.

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 05/12/2012 14:31

Or Palazzo pants.

Mind you I wore a denim pinafore dress back when I was pregnant.

I shouldn't be allowed into style and beauty for that crime alone.

Themumsnot · 05/12/2012 14:33

Could have been worse, Getorf. At least you weren't rocking a denim dungaree. Or were you?
