lets face it money is an issue i can't always afford styles that would great on me, and if i can get beautiful clothes i can't afford to get pulls and grease spots on them as i go abiut my day... looking stylish is not cheap if you are reubenesque.

I have some lovely clothes that I don't wear cause they may suit me but they don't suit my life now.

Northernlurker · 05/12/2012 18:28

What a cop out of an answer to my question Amblin. When in doubt fall back on the 'it's beyond my imagination to be that FAT'. That's feeble.

Amblin · 05/12/2012 18:36

It kind of is tbh.

Well, I guess it's good then that there are so many people on here who don't feel that and give really great and constructive advice whatever the poster's size. I've really been impressed by that aspect of S and B.

Fairylea · 05/12/2012 18:54

So being a size 14 I should wear a jumper.... a jumper that covers my sizeable bottom I'm assuming you mean... so.... basically.. a tunic.

:)

wewereherefirst · 05/12/2012 18:55

At least we know that beauty is only skin deep for some, I couldn't bare to be so hideous on the inside.

HullyEastergully · 05/12/2012 18:58

amblin you would get on well with bonsoir and xenia

you probably do

Fairylea · 05/12/2012 19:03

It's so easy for people to judge thinking putting on weight will never happen to them, like it's something that only happens to other people - a bit like the old benefit threads where you get some pompous fool saying they'd never have to sign on because xyz would never happen to them etc.

I used to be a skinny size 8. Two children, tthyroid problems and a pituitary tumour later I now weigh 4 stone more. Do I have time or energy to exercise? No. I am ready to sleep at 9 and I have no family support to look after baby ds. I walk for two hours everyday and eat sensibly but unless I want to live on slimfast and salad which is the ONLY way I can lose any weight then I have to accept that for now I am what I am and a size 14-16 is ok. I have bigger joys and woes.

OliviaPeaceOnMumsnet · 05/12/2012 19:08

Oi, OP, where is my answer? What should I be wearing with my tweet trousers for work then? If not a tunic?!?

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 19:10

Olivia you need a wolf fleece to go with your tweed. It was all the rage at chanel last night

Northernlurker · 05/12/2012 19:11

Well Ok then Amblin.

Ooooh I have been so warm and cosy in my tunic today. I need to think what to wear tomorrow..........two tunics? Grin

Curtsey · 05/12/2012 19:12

Tweed is gorgeous!
Gives one a sexy bum.

Amblin · 05/12/2012 19:14

tweet trousers? cute.
a shirt? a knit sweater and a cool belt?

I dunno - link em baby

OP posts:
Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 19:15

And a wolf fleece

noddyholder · 05/12/2012 19:15

I like silk t shirt with tweed trousers and secretary style cardi

Amblin · 05/12/2012 19:18

i do but it SLITHERS around your shoulders

OP posts:
noddyholder · 05/12/2012 19:19

I like a slither! I think lots of things look good with tweed even white t shirt and brogues

naughtymummy · 05/12/2012 19:21

I like my tunic (tis of the summer variety). I have curves but don't always want to get them out. I love the ambiguity of the tunic.I wear it over a bikini (at the beach), then put leggings on for school run or bike ride. Then jeans in the evening brilliant.

Btw I am a size 9 with a BMI of 22 I can't wear skinnies because I exercise and have hips and thighs they look awful.

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 05/12/2012 19:24

Where are you all finding these sexy tweed trousers for heaven's sake? I find they make me look like I should be stalking the moors with a shooting stick and a quilted jaw.

Itchy fuckers as well.

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 19:25

I had a lined pair that I wore to death, I need replacements

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 19:26

Lining stops the itch

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 19:31

check out these sexy beatches

KrisMoose · 05/12/2012 19:34

Olivia, with tweed you want contrast - so either fine knit/silky or classic - cotton shirts. Tweed trousers and a black fitted blouse can look amazing - Gwyneth Paltrow wears that kind of style.

PerryCombover · 05/12/2012 19:41

i love completely flappy baggies but end up going a bit gatsby or alternately land girl
women at school love it

very large woman at our school door and she looks amazing
i considered doing a sneaky blog on her as she's sooo stylish and there aren't many good ones around
realised it would be illegal and frightening
there is certainly nothing hidden about her curves and she does colour and layers

Northernlurker · 05/12/2012 19:42

I looked at the link. WHY did I look at the link?

I'm worried about at least two of the models. The Ombre one looks...well.....very odd feisty and charcoal camel check looks very nervous. Perhaps she could see a herd of angry sheep whose tweed was stolen from stampeding up behind the camera?
