Blue brown check looks like she just buried her husband in the bracken

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 19:45

Lol @ ombre

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 19:46

Loden purple multi is being terribly brave about that hat

Northernlurker · 05/12/2012 19:49

I think Tan Duck egg may be laughing at Loden's hat......there'll be some blood shed over that.

Heather Green is planning to cook her agent in the aga.......

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 19:54

here she is again in a better hat , she is gritting her teeth and thinking about killing her agent

HouseOfTinsel · 05/12/2012 19:56

See I think you have to be winsome and skinny to get away with tweed. And if you're winsome and skinny then the fashion world is your oyster anyway.

Djembe · 05/12/2012 19:56

I don't think S and B has to be about correcting your figure though. It can just be about wearing nice stuff.

HouseOfTinsel · 05/12/2012 19:56

Winsome and skinny with an evil glint.

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 19:58

I think Clarissa Dickson wright is magnificent in tweeds. She is not winsome

Djembe · 05/12/2012 19:58

Do you know what I love atm? Curvy girls wearing patterned leggings with cropped leather jackets. It looks fab.

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 19:59

fabulous

KrisMoose · 05/12/2012 19:59

Winsome and skinny with an evil glint = that's me, that is

Djembe · 05/12/2012 20:00

Yeah but she's a big racist.

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 20:02

Is she? Still she rocks the huntin' shootin' fishn' look

HouseOfTinsel · 05/12/2012 20:04

Nah, Clarissa wants to get herself an accommodating tunic and a well fitting pair of leggings. At least they don't gape .

missorinoco · 05/12/2012 20:13

I am unconvinved being skinny is the answer. I am a size 8, and would look like a mobile sack of potatoes in skinny jeans with a short wide jumper. I bought skinny jeans after seeing the raves about them on MN; the only good thing about them was that I played on the floor loads with the kids in a desperate attempt to make the knees wear early so I could chuck them. Never again.

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 20:14

Clarissa would piss on a tunic and then shoot a squirrel

EdgarAllanPond · 05/12/2012 20:16

if you can't quite do tweed - there's twill

BCBG · 05/12/2012 20:30

Tunics are really maternity wear, non?
Christ, what a horrible thread Sad...totally get that some of this is tongue-in-cheek, but some of this is pure playground bitching. For every MNer that thinks 'fuck it I'll wear tunic/skinnies//cuban heels/bootcut or whatever anyway there's someone ready to sit on their shoulder screaming don't do it at the reflection in the mirror. I would love to get the age profile on this thread, because I'm willing to bet that a large number of the tunic haters haven't yet got to the age where no matter what they choose to put on in the morning they know that they will still be judged for their crows' feet , their lined necks, their greying hair, their general agedness. Personal taste and confidence is everything. As Hully said so eloquently, boy do we continue to promote the idea that appearance dictates content.

Caerlaverock · 05/12/2012 20:39

I would argue that the tunic and leggings are to blame here. Women need to get a grip on themselves and just wear shit they like not just stuff that is acceptable cos their entire peer group wear it. Everyone need to embrace their inner Clarissa.

AmberNectarine · 05/12/2012 20:41

Argh just realised I own something that calls itself a tunic. However I wear it as a slutty v short dress, so that ok.

garlicbaubles · 05/12/2012 20:49

Golly, Frieda Wool-Twill looks like she brooks no nonsense! Just the sort of assertively tailored woman who 'yields' to James Bond at the last minute.

Djembe · 05/12/2012 20:57

BCBG this is S and B though, to discuss clothes we need to have opinions, non? It's valuable because it's truthful. You don't have to take it personally.

SnowWide · 05/12/2012 20:59

Whats the story with Clarissa's boobs? Cant find them in any of the photos, but in one of them it looks like her right boob is nudging a gentleman's tummy. He looks terrified "if I just stand still, it might go away..."

I darent laugh, I'm a G cup, and that might be me a few years down the line.

BCBG · 05/12/2012 21:09

I have opinions, and I'm happy to have the opinions of others. And I'm not taking the comments personally. I may or may not wear tunics - I haven't said. But 'truth' is subjective. There is a difference between saying that - for example - tunics may flatter some and not others - and suggesting that all tunic wearers are irredeemably mumsy, which is a generalisation guaranteed to be taken to heart and even acted upon by some people. Personally speaking, I have more of an issue with the fabric or construction of poor quality clothes than I do with the style, but if I were to suggest that everyone who wears stuff from Primark looks like a chav I would be drummed off the thread. (I don't think that btw, (ducks barrage of Biscuit ) Xmas Grin
