WWW's six week ten years younger plan, WEEK FIVE

Good morning all, welcome to week 5. Bloody hell and all I've done is notice how badly I eat/how much I drink. But hey, welcome all. A reminder of the rules:

Be as happy as possible. The odd night of booze and chocolate is fine
It's not a diet, it's trying to eat healthily and well, eat fruit and veg
Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
Some exercise, walking is fine
Use sunscreen at ALL TIMES
Take your make up off before bed
Get enough sleep, aim to be in bed by 10, 10.30 every night
Use handcream and join the horned hoof club on their thread if you have vile feet

Suzywong is Harvey from Fit Club and will pop in every now and again to say Good Luck to You but in her absence: Good Luck To You.

So yesterday was a complete write off for me, Mother's Day and all that, late night, lazed about quite a bit, had a late night, slept really badly, bleurgh. Today has been fairly diabolical too, I achieved a lot but I've done no walking, no sunscreen, hardly any water, not decent food (not much of it though, suppose that's something!) Ooh, but I probably will get to bed reasonably early and I will take my make up off. I've eaten:
2 pieces toast with olive spread and marmite, eaten in the car on the M1
a small brie and bacon baguette
half a piece of dd's toast
er, that's it. I ought to be starving but I've been so busy that I'm not.

Dunno what we're eating tonight, prob will have wine. I need to set a better example I feel!

Good Luck To You.

Well I'll be the first on, and will really try harder this week, just havent quite got it together so far.
fruit and veg OK but did buy white choc crunchy thing at work. No more work this week so should be OK as I seem to feel the need more when at work
water OK
only 30 mins walking
sunscreen yes (in tinted moisturiser: assume is OK?)
makeup off
Early bed must try harder, has been 11 ish and will be tonight due to ER. Exhausted due to busy weekend with Mum staying and three nights in a row of attending offspring performances of one kind and another. Too much!
handcream and footcream yes

Good luck all

Callmemadam · 27/03/2006 22:46

Have had lots of water, but also 2 glasses of wine, so failed miserably at first hurdle. Also have not yet got to bed before 11.30pm Sad but dh never gets in before 10pm'ish... ah well, tomorrow is another day!

ScummyMummy · 28/03/2006 00:57

Terrible day! Still up, no water and too much food.

Blackduck · 28/03/2006 06:36

reasonable day - water, no wine (dp away) - early to bed, some exercise, probably not enough fruit/veg...4 milky way choc stars stolen from ds's stash....

suzywong · 28/03/2006 06:42

Good Luck To YOu

I'm on the wagon again after two days of junk food

rye bread toast and vegemite for breakfast
homemade ragu, rather delicious if I say so myself, and farfalle for lunch, melon and green tea

Grilled fish and salad planned for dinner

Drank 750ml of water while out romping with ds2 this morning and have a pilates dvd and the house to myself this evening

And will be henna-ing my hair

Am stuck at 11st 2, still fit and strong but can't shift those stubborn 4lbs, anyone else got a similar amount to lose?

winnie · 28/03/2006 09:11

still off work, still feel rough...
never had so little appetite...

am continuing to drink loads water, creaming wildly, and looking forward to being well enough to do some exercise

I am sure this 'regime' was not meant to make one feel this way Wink

Senoracod · 28/03/2006 09:25

how old are oyu all now?
12?

winnie · 28/03/2006 09:29

I feel about 90 cod Sad

moondog · 28/03/2006 10:07

Feel a little jollier after hideous w/end,inarcerated in the house as it rained, rained, rained, and rained. No adult company, just me and the children for 48 hours.

Bloody grim I tell ya!

Foodwise ok,some Champagne, even some chocolate and almond cake (courtesy of NS in Observer) that I made with dd.
But Christ,was morale low......!

Snapped out of it last night by booking a babysitter and hitting the gym. 6.5 k on the treadmill (yes I know this thread isn't about manic exercise but indulge me ok????) and lots of Rolling Stones on my iPod,followed by a swim and a steam, lightened my mood greatly.

SDtill wish I could go on a mummy strike though. Gahd,it's tedious doing it all by myself....

I've been 'away' from MN and normal life for 2 weeks having a crap time (even ended up in A&E with my dining partner on Saturday after having an allergic reaction to a meal of fresh tuna steak and chilli chips - think that was a kick up my wobbly bum from a being up high to pull myself together!).But I'm determined now to be more positive and try to get back on track.

Well done WWW on your job! Sorry that there seems to be quite a few on this thread who are feeling sh*t. Hey, Spring is in the air, the daffodils are coming up and soon we shall all be slinking around in the warm sun in our floaty spotty empire smocks and metallic wedges (or whatever the new look is meant to be)...Well maybe not. I shall settle for smoother skin, a not so bulgy tummy and less alcohol sloshing around in my system.

moondog · 28/03/2006 10:28

Blimey ms!
What set it off?
Did you know about yuoe allergy before??

By rights,I should be feeling good.
Dh home in 12 days, then off to Turkey for a month, which makes life much eassier for me.
Also spring, milder weather, longer nights bla bla...
Right now thouh i feel dreadful.

moonshine · 28/03/2006 11:31

MD - the docs wouldn't commit to an answer and we'll probably never know for sure but, after extensive googling, we reckon it was the tuna which had been improperly stored. Bummer really cos I love fresh tuna steaks but it has put me off trying them again!

Couldn't imagine coping alone with my kids for so long - I am very bored and frustrated atm and dh usually gets home by 7pm. Am now contemplating a trip to the duckpond and then the newsagents for my excitement today. But I shall not stray from the Path of Virtue...well not in the next hour anyway.

yoyo · 28/03/2006 11:34

Had a fabulous evening with friends - ate, drank and talked until 2 am and was up at 7 to get the children to school.

So am on the path of virtue today. Will walk DS to pre-school, have salad for lunch and something equally light for tea. Have also spoken to a pilates lady for individual lessons.

My liver badly needs a break so am off the booze until the weekend.

suzywong · 28/03/2006 12:27

i can't shout at you
Have just finished off the kids' fish and chips. Cold and coagulated

Blush
winnie · 28/03/2006 15:24

Shock suzy Wink

suzywong · 28/03/2006 15:25

The devil made me do it

bundle · 28/03/2006 15:28

i love it when the wong slips

last night: applied facemask (some of the boots anti-ageing stuff) and left conditioner on hair for Long Time (ok, was wetcombing as dd1 has nits again Wink) but dinner was a disaster: dh away so picked at burritos, home made guacamole, heaps of cheese etc. and a beer. quite a large one actually Blush

motherinferior · 28/03/2006 15:33

I suspect going for a not particularly fabulous curry last night (long story, group thingy) may have led me off the Path of Virtue as it was the sort of not particularly fabulous restaurant that uses a lot of fat. But I was vegetarian. At least. And didn't drink. At all.

I really hate the fact that not drinking makes me feel so much better, as the logical answer is not to drink at all. I like drink. Can I never let loose the Father Jack Within??

moondog · 28/03/2006 15:50

That is it MI.
God,I love to drink-love,love love it!
But,it makes me feel crap.Worst is the 'fighting' nights. Do you know what I mean? You don;t rest properly but spend the entire time having difficult dreams (although the sleep is so shallow that they are almost hallucinations)fighting with the bedclothes and waking with a feeling of impending doom

I feel the only answer is to make sure that when i drink,it's good stuff.
I won't 'waste' my quota on any old crap.
Had a swim this morning with the children.
Also had fab new solid oak carved wardrobe delivered (very Narnia) for dd's room which is utterly gorgeous.

winnie · 28/03/2006 21:26

I have had a good day and thankfully am beginning to feel better :)

I have drunk lots of water.
Have handcreamed, cleansed and moisturised.
I have eaten

Organic natural yogurt & honey
1 x organic wholemeal toast & banana

carrot and coriander soup with organic wholemeal bread

5 olives

mushroom and pea risotto

need to eat more fruit today BUT ... not bad

Brain is buzzing tonight but will make myself go to bed before 10.30.

ButternutSquash · 28/03/2006 22:01

Have had a dreadful few days, what with being premenstrual and now having a bad cold as well. So I have been eating lots of sweet stuff, and far too much cheese and bread. I have not done much exercise since Friday either, and have drunk rather too much red wine. Blush Sad
Oh well, will try harder tomorrow...

ScummyMummy · 28/03/2006 23:04

Have had good day too- applied suncream twice! And lots of walking and cycling. Yummy dinner- salmon with orange butter- and lunch in Thai cafe was super delicious too. No breakfast, which I suspect is a bad thing. Better drink another glass of water and get to bed, I guess.

Glad things are looking up, winnie.:)

crunchie · 28/03/2006 23:07

I find I can be good during the week, but the weekend,,,,, Thats when I forget the water :)

However another 2lbs off (weigh in on a monday), gym yesterday, Davinas DVD today, plenty fruit and veg, AND washed face and cream before bed.

Blimey at 36 years old it has taken a thread on MN to make me clean my face properly before bed :)

Nogood with sunscreen, I never see the sunshine, and my moisturiser has spf 15, use handcream once or twice this week, which is a 200% improvement and feet still look dodgy :)

Did bikini line though, does that count ???
