WWW's six week ten years younger plan, WEEK FIVE

WideWebWitch · 27/03/2006 19:18

Good morning all, welcome to week 5. Bloody hell and all I've done is notice how badly I eat/how much I drink. But hey, welcome all. A reminder of the rules:

Be as happy as possible. The odd night of booze and chocolate is fine
It's not a diet, it's trying to eat healthily and well, eat fruit and veg
Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
Some exercise, walking is fine
Use sunscreen at ALL TIMES
Take your make up off before bed
Get enough sleep, aim to be in bed by 10, 10.30 every night
Use handcream and join the horned hoof club on their thread if you have vile feet

Suzywong is Harvey from Fit Club and will pop in every now and again to say Good Luck to You but in her absence: Good Luck To You.

Well,I tried on some lovely little floaty Boden linen numbers that I wore a lot the summer of 2004 and they fit like a glove!!
So bloody chuffed!
It is a joy to think of clothes in terms of what flatters rather than what disguises again. Grin

Managing to keep on the straight and narrow with everything and go to the gym x3 a week.
Neutrogena is the best hand and foot cream I find, after experimenting with everything. It is like magic.
Also, when creaming you need to get right down low to your decolletage. A dermatologist told me women always forget this.

Have been eating a lot of quinoa in a sort of tabboule form.
Diced toms, cukes, red pepper, herbs and a bit of protein.
Prawns,fetta or chicken.
Add some oomph with chilli, lime juice and cold pressed avocado oil.

Also re skin, never understimate the value of a sauna/steam.
I have one after every gym session.

monkeytrousers · 30/03/2006 21:47

Good on you Mooney, maybe that's why your so Smiley lately, eh? Wink

moondog · 30/03/2006 21:52

Am I??
Ha ha!

crunchie · 30/03/2006 21:52

Well I am smug after a quick davina dvd and loads of water. Now to counteract my lunch of wine and chips, a healthy salad :)

moondog · 30/03/2006 22:29

Wine is a killer in the middle of the day eh??

TaiTai · 30/03/2006 23:45

Moondog, in your extensive hand cream research did you try Crabtree & Evelyn's Hand Recovery (amazing!) coupled with their Hand Rescue Cream? Worked wonders on my dishwash hands, or at least did. Doesn't seem to work if you forget to apply it...

I need a fab foot cream though so may try Neutrogena. Do they do a special foot cream?

moondog · 30/03/2006 23:46

I'll try it (bet it's expensive though.I do find it difficult to pay over the odds for fat and water and perfume tbh)
I use the same Neutrogena on my feet, then put a pair of socks on.

I drank Champagne and wine last night. And ate some gorgeous lamb with mustard mash, sweetcorn, broccoli and carrots. Ds AND dd woke in the night but then we all slept in until 8am so I feel fine! We have people coming tonight so my fridge is full of wine and my cupboards are bursting with olives and quails eggs and root potato crisps and CAKE. But I will get plenty of exercise today because the house is a TIP and I need to clean it and tidy it.

I am going to have wine this evening too and I am looking forward to it. I deserve it :)

Good day yesterday :)

crunchie · 31/03/2006 10:33

I am waiting until Sunday when I have friends over :) I am sure I can survive until then!!

motherinferior · 31/03/2006 10:38

I have continued to steer off the booze but DP has ordered some nice fizz for the weekend Grin.

IBS has abated, so I look faintly normal again. No idea whether I've got any thinner or not. Will swim, finally, tomorrow morning.

Can I add, to our various injunctions good sunglasses in bright sunshine? Quite apart from protecting (a) your eyes (b) the delicate skin around them, they mean you don't scrunch your eyes up and we all know how bad that is, don't we?

Blackduck · 31/03/2006 11:05

As predicted I fell off the waggon with a splash last night - dp home with ds so up the local Indian for a curry and a couple of bottles.....but have been good all week so don't feel too bad about it.
Out tonight (will try not to drink too much....Grin)
Good on the water all week so will try to keep that up too .... - starting to feel a lot better about myself...
Well done everyone, I think we are all doing pretty well really!

TaiTai · 31/03/2006 11:39

Hi Moondog, yes, C&E stuff is expensive but has been fantastic on my hands. I've tried Neutrogena and lots of other brands but have seriously dried shrivelled hands, with cracked bleeding skin at the side of my nails (nice), and the Hand Rescue has been the only thing that helped that.

TaiTai · 31/03/2006 11:41

Can I add moisturising face as a stipulation, or is that taken as read? I am a slovenly bint who sometimes forgets.

soyabean · 01/04/2006 22:16

Scummy I love thos epeanut butter cups. Unfortunately our local newsagenet sells them...
I am being hopeless, won't even bore you all with the details. (Having a nice few days tho so do score OK on the 'be happy' front)
But am determned to ride bike to work next week. I know I should warm up first so does anyone have a good 5 minute warm up that thay cd recommend?
I get lower back pain from all sorts of things including sometimes cycling, but I think a few morning exercises wd help me.

winnie · 02/04/2006 10:01

I love the way this thread goes quiet at the weekends :)

I am having a bad weekend so far and am not even happy :(

Ho hum... onwards and upwards everyone... it's another day

WideWebWitch · 02/04/2006 10:07

Sorry to hear that Winnie, tomorrow is another week, although I suspect I'm only going to be any good in a 10yy sense from the 10th since we move then (and I'll be offline for a few days, eek!) and before that I have

dinner at friend's house on Monday
dinner and night away at another friend's house on Wednesday
dh's work leaving do on Friday (I'm not going though)
People here for dinner on Saturday
hmm.

WWW, I want your social life Grin
I should be happy I have lost 10 lbs in 6 weeks (!!) However, since Mothers Day a black gloom has set in and I think events of recent months have started to catch up with me. I think I may contact CRUSE.

motherinferior · 02/04/2006 14:50

Winnie, I'm so sorry.

I am wiped. Don't ask about my eating habits. Or the bottle of champagne I shared with DP last night (now back on wagon, bor-RING).But I did swim 60 lengths yesterday, and walk a mile briskly in pursuit of a haircut and the mile back.

DP has suggested that as he's off with the kids next week I go swimming every morning by bike. This is a good idea, dammit. I do realise one main reason I've been feeling so sh*te is lack of exercise over the past 10 days. But I've not ridden my bike for months, and months, and months...(it is a nice ride, though, through the park, and it's light in the mornings now, of course).

WideWebWitch · 02/04/2006 17:15

Winnie, do CAT me if you want to vent offline. Or I can CAT you, I've paid my fiver - no pressure though, absolutely, I hope Cruse can help.

MI, please tell me that was a rogue 0 and you actually swam 6 lengths yesterday? No, well blimey, well done, whichever it was, am v impressed!

OP posts:
ScummyMummy · 02/04/2006 17:23

Oh winnie. So sorry you're feeling awful.:( It does take months and years and forever to get over a mum dying (ime). Do try cruse because it might help but this is normal normal normal, you know. It hasn't been long.

mi- you are going to try to swim on a bike? Is this really wise?

Boys' birthday party today and I have resorted to a recovery vodka and tonic.

winnie · 02/04/2006 22:08

Thanks guys :)

moondog · 02/04/2006 22:11

Still doing ok (no man around to tempt me with wine y'see and a 1 year old and a 5 year old do not make good drinking buddies.)
Took the children swimming today and will go to the gym tomorrow.
