WWW's six week ten years younger plan, WEEK FIVE

WideWebWitch · 27/03/2006 19:18

Good morning all, welcome to week 5. Bloody hell and all I've done is notice how badly I eat/how much I drink. But hey, welcome all. A reminder of the rules:

Be as happy as possible. The odd night of booze and chocolate is fine
It's not a diet, it's trying to eat healthily and well, eat fruit and veg
Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
Some exercise, walking is fine
Use sunscreen at ALL TIMES
Take your make up off before bed
Get enough sleep, aim to be in bed by 10, 10.30 every night
Use handcream and join the horned hoof club on their thread if you have vile feet

Suzywong is Harvey from Fit Club and will pop in every now and again to say Good Luck to You but in her absence: Good Luck To You.

I'm in for keeping this going a bit longer - it acts as my spur and my general reminder of what I SHOULD be doing....(and helps when I fall off, to know I'm not alone...Grin) Hows the non-drinking going Granerybecks?

WideWebWitch · 30/03/2006 07:42

Well I feel great for a reasonably early night with no alcohol.

Good day yesterday, although, am not well enough to get going on the exercise again :( (It's funny how when one can't do it one has this desperate desire to do it Grin )

I didn't eat crisps yesterday despite the craving. I had a cup of vegetable bouillon SP? instead!

I feel as if this 6 weeks has broken some bad habits and for that I am happy :) :)

you know, i often walk past the krispy kreme one near holborn..never had them Shock and tbh even just the spelling of krispy and kreme makes me feel a little nauseous..(am much more of a savory gal but make exception for pret donuts)

I am writing off this whole week - lots of stressful things going on. Things ought to improve after today is out of the way.

I have definitely started looking after my body more - regularly exfoliate, moisturise and generally keep things under control (file nails, do feet, etc). I am more aware of foods that I eat for comfort and notice those that have a negative effect (white bread in particular). I have been drinking even more water than usual. The alcohol I have found difficult to give up but find it much easier to reduce the quantity now. I also have earlier nights and will go to bed rather than flick through the crap channels on TV. I have been walking more and enjoyed doing the odd exercise video. Today I dug out a skipping rope too!

Not feeling very good at the moment but that is because things have been so hectic. DH said I was looking healthier though so something is working.

I am looking forward to the next six-week challenge.

Batters - DH frequents that one after going to the cinema with DDs. He is NOT allowed to bring them home.

WideWebWitch · 30/03/2006 12:35

Hmm, I've just eaten a packet or organic prawns dipped into sweet Thai chilli sauce and now I'm eating an orange pepper dipped into hummus. Delicious! And dh is coming home for lunch, yay!

Luckily I don't have anywhere near me selling Krispy Kremes, just as well!

I am having a rather crappy day. Tell me, please, is the Liz Earle stuff worth it? Am pondering a bit of cheering retail therapy and I want a proper facial sunscreen.

crunchie · 30/03/2006 16:24

Well I have gone a little off the rails to day :)

It is only 4.30 and I have had 2 large (OK 175 ml) glasses of wine, chips and mayo, and a latte :)

I meant to go to the gym, but ended up going out for lunch, I also meant to do Davinas DVD last night, but was knackered after tidying up. So this evening I WILL DO MY EXERCISE, I WILL DRINK SOME WATER, and I will clean my face and put on my night cream - all after I have had a sunbed session :) How naughty am I :o

crunchie · 30/03/2006 16:25

Oh and I have been promised a box of Krispy Kremes in payment for some work I did for someone :)

motherinferior · 30/03/2006 16:25

Cor, Crunchie. Wow. Respect.

I still feel better for no booze, damn and blast it.

ScummyMummy · 30/03/2006 16:36

Liz Earle sunscreen is good now i know how to put it on, mi.:)

TaiTai · 30/03/2006 17:30

Is there a special way of putting Liz Earle sunscreen on, then? Don't you just slap it on?!

And are all of you doing the sunscreen thing - on your faces or any exposed body parts too?

WideWebWitch · 30/03/2006 17:39

CRUNCHIE Shock Shock Shock at the wine! Or was it lunchtime wine? Ok then if it was, otherwise, goodness, 4.30 is very early!

My day went downhill after lunch, had Wotsits, and 2 fairy cakes and no exercise other than, oooh, ooh, ooh, a Sainsbury's shop where the checkout assistant said I look as if I'm in my LATE TWENTIES!! OK, she was 20 and probably thinks that's old and everyone over 24 probably looks around the same to her, i.e. older than her but still, it made my day since I am very very late thirties!

Wore suncreen when I picked up ds in the pouring rain too. May drink tonight, may not. We have red snapper for supper.

WideWebWitch · 30/03/2006 17:40

Just face for me TaiTai re sunscreen

TaiTai · 30/03/2006 17:43

Thanks, WWW. I haven't embraced the spirit of this thread yet: my liquid intake today has only been half a cup of coffee and half a bottle of coke. Blush Off to glug down some water.

motherinferior · 30/03/2006 18:46

WWWoWWW!

I am so fed up I fancy a drink. I have been trying to put together an article which has been very badly commissioned, although I think I can just put it together out of things I've written before, plus advice from DP (it's about stuff in his field, I don't usually ask his opinion on anything much Grin). Want a drink. May have one. Tomorrow is another day.

crunchie · 30/03/2006 19:23

It was lunchtime drinking :) Honest. I have since had a litre of water so the dreaded evening headache won't come :)

ScummyMummy · 30/03/2006 19:25

I was slapping too much on and getting a ghostly face at first, TaiTai. Doh.
My in laws just got back from America and bought the boys some Reeces minature peanut butter cups- ate 5 of them before looking idly at the back of the pack and seeing
Calories per serving (of 5): 210
Calories from fat 110 Shock
So stopped eating them and had some pez instead. And some chorizo.
