Fritzi I love that dress!!! (A different colorway is on my wishlist.)

Going to have a break from MN (busy days & traveling, plus the vibe on S&B has changed, am not really enjoying it any more). But will miss this thread and will stay on Pin still, let's stay connected there!

MarshaBrady · 14/01/2013 14:36

Nooo don't go!

Decameron · 14/01/2013 14:59

Sorry to hear that, Dona, please come back soon!

Skinny jeans, Uggs (and Timberland black knee high boots when I got out) and a big DKNY sweater here today.

Beautiful dress, Fritzi.

I've spent the last hour looking at blue bags online. I am such a time waster. I've talked myself out of a Balenciaga bag, at least, so money saved. Apparently they don't last very well, according to reviews on the Purse Forum.

MarshaBrady · 14/01/2013 19:09

A blue bag would be fabulous Decam.

My big splurge arrived. Red J Crew and mint green. Gorgeous colours, very soft, still need to try them on.

Pleased to have t shirts that don't cost £70+.

AmberNectarine · 14/01/2013 19:22

Cashmere dress for me today. Did the job nicely. And my cobalt Rosie Sugden cashmere bobble hat. I love it so much! Was toasty.

Am angry with my Louboutins. Wore them on Saturday night and they gave me a blister which has now become infected. Can hardly walk on my foot, so will be in flats all week. Style fail.

MarshaBrady · 14/01/2013 19:26

Oh I love those! Wish I could do bobble hats. I really can't. So have to stick to the beret. But love the bright colours.

Ah what a pita Amber. The Louboutins in the corner of shame.

AmberNectarine · 14/01/2013 19:28

Yes, along with those awful black and gold stripper style bondage shoes DH bought me.

I can wear all hats. Lucky in that respect. Or maybe I look like a tool but everyone is too polite to tell me.

MarshaBrady · 14/01/2013 19:31

You can do a hat.

I've got berets, that's it. Maybe a 70s sunhat too.

shopafrolic · 14/01/2013 20:16

Dona please don't go. I love the way you write and the thread slows without you. If you do decide to disappear then please know how much confidence you and others on here have given me. The change in me has been noticed by friends and family and I'm so much happier so thank you.

I did my first workout for about a year today. 15 mins on the treadmill nearly killed me but I felt so energised for it so am determined to keep going. I'm exercising at a friend's house so it's less intimidating than a gym and has free cups of tea!
I love a hat - I have a beautiful tweed Treacy hat that he designed for Purdeys the gunmakers that I love but today was a knitted beanie.

MarshaBrady · 14/01/2013 21:07

Love your outfit, and your Treacy hat Shop. And the exercising in your friend's house sounds fabulous.

I agree, Dona your style and your writing is wonderful. I do hope you come back.

AwkwardSquad · 14/01/2013 21:22

I've only posted once on this thread but have very much enjoyed reading everyone's contributions, particularly yours, Dona Ana. It's a window in to what seems like such an elegant life! I picture you in dusty Italian streets, perhaps reading the paper in a little cafe or striding across a piazza, always immaculately but fascinatingly dressed. Sigh. I'm probably picturing some film or other that I've seen and forgotten but ne'er mind. Ciao, bella!

libertychick · 14/01/2013 22:24

Really sorry you are signing off for a while Dona I love your posts and your book recommendations have been great.

I go through phases with MN too - sometimes love it, other times feel it's all a bit too much.

libertychick · 14/01/2013 22:38

The DKNY dress arrived today - sadly it's not a-line and while it's a perfect fit on top it's just a bit too clingy around my bum - could probably get away with it for a night out with heels but not for work - I must remember when looking at clothes on line that models do not generally have bums and are straight up and down not pear shaped! Am disappointed as the colour is fantastic.

The APC sweater also arrived and it's just lovely Smile. Great fit and v soft and warm.

Lovely colours on the T's Marsha.

MarshaBrady · 15/01/2013 07:53

Great news on the APC Liberty, it's gorgeous.

Good decision on DKNY, not having a perfect fit can get a bit off-putting after a while. The colour is lovely.

It can get a bit much, nice to have this thread.

FritziGreenEyes · 15/01/2013 11:33

dona You will be missed... Sad

pickledsiblings · 15/01/2013 14:51

Ah Dona, sorry to see you signing off. Like many others on here I enjoy glimpsing into what seems like another world but really is not that far away from any of us - you make all of it seem so achievable with your good nature and positivity. You are an inspiration and as Fritzi said, you will be missed Sad.

Fritzi, I love that dress and could so see you in it - start saving Smile.

shopafrolic · 16/01/2013 18:13

The A&W silk shirt has arrived and is rather lovely. Despite having been told it isn't autumn colours it is peacock blue with dusky pink both of which are on my colour palette so I'm keeping it! For £29 for silk it's a bargain!

Not sure about the sweatshirt yet. Need to try with some other jeans.

The snowboots on my AW board have come into their own today - soooo cosy.

Please let's not let this board die if Dona is taking a break. I do hope she comes back.........

Hi Shop love those, and the blouse is such a good buy!

I'm just holding out til the end of the week am meeting with a couple of clients. Am absolutely itching to buy work clothes. I just want to buy and wear something that isn't skinnies.

I'd like to get a pencil skirt, a blouse and jacket. Depends on how big the projects are, best to see first.

Yes will have the 'welcome back Dona' streamers ready to go and have kettle poised just in case.

Decameron · 16/01/2013 20:13

Lovely blouse, Shop.

Dona, please come back soon.

Good luck with the projects, Marsha!

I got sucked into the Matches sale again and ordered this to wear to my friend's party next week. I love the colour.

libertychick · 16/01/2013 23:01

Good luck with client meetings Marsha.

Love the colour of the top Decameron

The curse of the pear shape has struck again with the Brora dress - perfect on waist and lower half, but too big on top. I have some meetings in central London over the next two days so I am hoping to pop into Matches, HoF, Brora and Hobbs to try on a few things and get a feel for sizing on a few different brands and shapes. Would love to get to Selfridges but too much of a faff given meeting locations.

Annianni · 17/01/2013 10:53

The taupe beas arrived this morning and I love them (even dh thinks they are nice)

I'm wearing them today, they feel great and i'm tall again :o

Thanks for your help on the matter Amber.

And please come back Dona.

AmberNectarine · 17/01/2013 10:56

My pleasure. I have been banging the wedge trainer drum for a long time. Eventually I will get everyone wearing them!

Annianni · 17/01/2013 10:57

I think I should keep the prune bowies too, it'd be rude not to :o

I just need to do some jeans shopping now.

MarshaBrady · 17/01/2013 11:42

Well I've gone from hmmm to they look really good so obviously working on me too.
