You've inspired me to get the red lippy out this morning, this wintry weather was making me lazy with my make up. Off to apply.......

Well done Shop - I love red lips during the dark season but tend to go for subtler shades in spring/summer (when I'm almost about to bin the darker shades). I swear the red lippy coaxed the sun out after a wet and foggy morning here!

Just looked at my Yoox receipt and have to say I'm quite liking the 60? dark indigo straight-leg midrise J Brands. Real value for the price Grin

libertychick · 11/01/2013 10:28

Thank you all for the feedback. I cannot wait for it all to arriveand start the trying on. I'm having fun planning how to wear it all. I was feeling guilty about spending so much last night but am over it this morning Smile Really hope it all fits.

I like your matching dress and lippy vibe Dona. I am keeping my lippy on my desk to remind me to put it on more - wearing a Boots No 7 one called 'Chic' at the moment - like the colour but it's a bit dry so end up popping a little vaseline over the top.

Today I'm wearing a H&M pencil skirt in a blue, black and white graphic print - not on the website which is a shame as it's great - with a Gap drop sleeve fine knit deep blue merino jumper, black opaques and brogues and silver jewellery and a oversize Zara black lace scarf to cope with the tempermental air con in my office.

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2013 11:01

Love that silk blouse Shop, really gorgeous.

That is a great price Dona! I have been seeing lots of denim under £50 on my travels (Harvey Nics, My-W, NaP). Not the right colour really for me unfortunately!

Really lovely outfit Liberty.

Mine is cold-weather proof and not too exciting. J Brand skinny cords and Wang black knit.

Have finally ordered some J Crew t shirts (mint green one, red one). Seriously that took ages. I couldn't do it. Spend £12 on a tshirt and pay £5 for delivery. But did it in the end, hope they are ok. I had to throw 3 out this morning due to holes, so really had to replace.

Decameron · 11/01/2013 14:54

I like your shopping, Liberty, especially the APC sweater.

Really pleased with my navy Bowies and wearing today with Paige skinny jeans and navy Goat cardigan. Just spent ages setting up my eBay auction for the Alexa bag, I hope it sells!

florenceuk · 11/01/2013 15:37

I've bought the Goldsign skinnies and the J brand sashas as well - although I was wondering if the Sashas fail the pocket test (too high?) peering at my backside over my shoulder.

i am a bit fed up with my working wardrobe - too many clothes and yet somehow every morning I struggle with what to wear (govt, so not overly formal so not a suit, but normally wear a jacket or crew neck cardigan). This week I have worn shades of grey and black every day.

Monday - grey jigsaw top and straight black trousers, black kew jacket (old)
Tuesday - grey polo neck and black pencil skirt
Wed - black and white knit dress
Thursday - another (very old) jigsaw knit top, same old black trousers, same old black kew jacket
Friday - whistles grey sparkly knit top and skinnies (casual day)

i need someone to do an audit on my wardrobe! I struggle with what jacket to wear if I am not wearing black trousers, the Kew jacket is a textured wool so it goes with lots of things (I like to think so!). Is black and colour still a cliche? Maybe I should just give up and buy a couple of new suits.

MarbleRun · 11/01/2013 16:56

Popping back to say inspired by annianni's success I got a v neck slouchy jumper and the same drapey cardi from gap's cashmere range today - got 25% off the final sale prices as am on their database - had a marketing email about that this morning. There is not so much left online but plenty of cashmere and merino on the sale racks in my local branch. Might help someone?

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2013 17:13

Good luck Decam! Go bag. love your outfit.

Hi Florence. Black and colour can be a tricky one for work. But I don't work in an office so not the best person! Am sure someone knows more about really good work outfits.

Marblerun hi, that sounds great.

Looking at final sales. This silk DvF would look great on someone who can do wrap dresses. I really like it on backwards, ie the wrap at the back, well from the front anyway, but the back looks odd. But in the video it's the other way. Mistake or reversible dress.

shopafrolic · 11/01/2013 17:37

I have No7 Chic Liberty great colour but agree re: texture. Might try your Vaseline tip.
Am wearing this today

With Jigsaw navy skinny trousers and these boots

Went for a strong pink lip in the end.
Have had my nails done today in Bowie Prune!! Beautician said she'd had some strange requests but matching to a pair of wedge trainers was a first! Grin

I love blush pink and navy Shop.

I loved this Marant in the shops. Wish it was 70% off and would go for it, otherwise am hesitating. Very fine knit (holes?).

shopafrolic · 11/01/2013 19:11

Gorgeous Marsha. Lovely colour which I could never wear! But the cashmere silk and toddler thing would scare me!

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 11/01/2013 19:13

That is lovely Marsha - would make me look like I had cirrhosis though. I miss yellow.

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2013 19:28

haha that's one good thing about not knowing colours! Just blithely jump in regardless.

Am a bit worried the toddler factor however. I need one I can wear, not like the acne.

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2013 19:36

Actually scratch that, I don't really need it. But could be nice. Sizes are selling out now.

Decameron · 11/01/2013 19:50

That is lovely, Marsha.

Very cool, matching your polish to your wedges, Shop!

I ordered these sunglasses for summer. My no spend Jan is not going well.

Florence, I have this jacket, which I paid full price for, sob. I think that colour works with grey and black, if you like the style.

Dauphin · 11/01/2013 20:40

Hiya...Decameron...nice to 'see' you!!! Dad has to have another op but he's a little soldier, so fingers crossed. Thanks for asking! Been a bit of a year!!! How are you all, and those lovely girls?

Dona - yes, I love Chanel cosmetics and skincare. Gorgeous stuff.

Dauphin · 11/01/2013 20:43

The house thing is so exciting, to me anyway. Dona - we did this before but this time have the luxury of not living in it. I am a complete house addict. DH more into the groundworks than I think normal though!

DonaAna · 11/01/2013 20:45

Home from a party (early to liberate the babysitter):
Marsha please buy that sweater! I think it will work on you and the color (mimosa!!!) is the perfect transitional color!

shopafrolic · 11/01/2013 20:52

On a random note I have been using Boots No7. Youthful Eye Serum for a week now and it seems to be making a real difference, definitely fewer lines and skin looks fresher... The house sounds exciting Dauphin particularly if you don't have to live amidst the chaos. Our place is in a constant state of semi repair, grade 2 listed so something always needs doing.

DonaAna · 11/01/2013 20:54

Florence any idea what season you are? Black as a base can work if you are a Winter but the contrast can be a bit too harsh otherwise.
I'm learning the use of gorgeous neutrals from Italians - they often pair softer shades and combine gray-taupe-cream-smoky blue.

DonaAna · 11/01/2013 21:07

Not too drunk or tired to shop at the Matches sale - thanks ladies for alerting!!!

florenceuk · 11/01/2013 21:51

Dona, I think I'm definitely a winter (southern Chinese, black hair, brown eyes) so beige is perhaps not the best colour on me. The jacket is nice, thanks Decameron - may look in the village tomorrow!

Samnella · 11/01/2013 22:13

I love your buys Liberty particualrly the stripey top. I also think that wrap dress is beautiful MarshaBrady

Samnella · 11/01/2013 22:14

5 years on MN and i finally work out bold Grin

AmberNectarine · 11/01/2013 22:32

florence do you live near me? Your mention of 'the village' makes me think you might...
