dip dyed hair yay or nay

I have grown out my hair and it is entirely natural and light brown. I wear it wavy/curly and it is just on my bra strap.

I am liking this blonde dip dye effect.

At 33 am I to old and will it be a bit try hard. Will I regret reaching for the bottle now I am finally natural?

Personally think it looks like you will be appearing on the next episode of Jeremy Kyle but that could be as I have no fashion sense!

knitknack · 22/08/2012 14:46

Yes! (IMO :)

knitknack · 22/08/2012 14:46

To clarify - I mean 'yes you will regret it!' (talk about being unclear lol)

ThisIsNotHoneyDragon · 22/08/2012 14:52

Yes I keep seeing rooty looking versions and that puts me off. But then I see the less harsh mid hair versions and go hmmmm low maintenance and pretty....

Got told my dip-dye was stunning the other day - I bushed - it is a 14 month, faded, grow out of a previous full head permanent dye.

swooosh · 22/08/2012 15:00

I don't see why it is still popular tbh. I had it a long time ago, when the trend had just come over from the US. Some people it looks good on (the less harsh versions) but others are just awful.

It's not that you're too old (you're 33 FFS!) but it is not a good look in my opinion.

ThisIsNotHoneyDragon · 22/08/2012 15:03

If you promise not to laugh I'll stick a photo on my profile and you can tell me whether or not to step away from the bleach?

cocolepew · 22/08/2012 15:04

LittleIllusionMachine · 22/08/2012 15:05

Uh the dip dye thing just looks to me like someone's not had their roots done.

I think you have to be rich/famous enough to show it's clearly deliberate rather than being crap at getting to the hairdressers, iyswim.

Grin Grin at the dog though.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 22/08/2012 15:30

I quite like it but prefer balayage which is quite similar but not as blocky...have you seen....balayage?

yellowraincoat · 22/08/2012 15:31

I learnt the term "balayage" from a Russian grandmother. I think that says it all really.

Olympicpark · 22/08/2012 15:36

Honey I can't see your pic am I being dim?

ByTheWay1 · 22/08/2012 15:45

Mine looks just like that wellllllll with extra grey bits too wow, but how do I keep it at 14 months of grow out!

Typical - I'll be trendy for once - for about another month! Smile
