I have grown out my hair and it is entirely natural and light brown. I wear it wavy/curly and it is just on my bra strap.

I am liking this blonde dip dye effect.

At 33 am I to old and will it be a bit try hard. Will I regret reaching for the bottle now I am finally natural?

Oooh, you look like a painting.

Nice faceshape.

Still don't dip dye though.

ThisIsNotHoneyDragon · 22/08/2012 15:49

It works now

DD's hair looks like that naturally.

When I was her age everyone used to ask me if I "bleached the ends" (I didn't). So I was 40 years ahead of my time. Or I started a trend which has been a looooooong time coming!

PerryCombover · 22/08/2012 16:01

Get it done

JustinBoobie · 22/08/2012 16:02

I had it by default - growing out my highlights... I quite liked it. Always commented on etc. Don't think I could trust a hairdresser enough! Subtle is cool - like flacks. Drews can only be carried if you are cool, and I think she's cool. Tough one for me!

My DD (6) has really light ends and very dark roots; been that way since we took her to Thailand when she was little. It's breathtaking.

Good luck though Grin

Looks lovely to me. Disclaimer: I am a total nerd who is completely not into current up-to-date fashion, but I know what I like.

ThisIsNotHoneyDragon · 22/08/2012 16:05

I will do it myself if I do it Wink reckless

ByTheWay1 I'm afraid I had a bit of a Jilly Cooper moment when you said someone had complemented you on your hair dye and "I bushed." I thought you meant you had taken it to the next level! Grin

ThisIsNotHoneyDragon · 22/08/2012 16:06

Yellow Grin, thank you, I think.

Its chavtastic imho, so unless that's the look you are going for, I would steer clear :)

cocolepew · 22/08/2012 17:24

I meant the hair on your head, I couldn't see that low.

ThisIsNotHoneyDragon · 22/08/2012 17:30

bloody hell! So opinions range from

Jeremy Kyle chav --------- Nice and Funky.

Arseholes. Now I still can't decide!

I think it looks really nice but the only people I have seen it on are my dd's friends and they are all 15.

AmberLeaf · 22/08/2012 18:17

I like it. It wouldn't work on my hair as I think it suits straight hair better.

I saw someone at the weekend with it she had quite long hair and the end maybe 4-6 inches dyed blue! Have seen it with purple and also red.

I too remember it around 1996ish.

Only 'chavvy' if you are 'chavvy' IMO. Not that I like that term but there you go.

What can go wrong? If you tire of it you colour over it and deffo not too old at 33!

Although I have just discovered you can chalk your hair which is quite cool Grin

Hey! I was considering doing this but the safer way to test it is buy cheapish clip in extenions (teeny bit longer than your own hair) then dip dye the extensions! that won't ruin the ends of your hair and you can take them out :) x

ThisIsNotHoneyDragon · 22/08/2012 22:06

I thought about extensions but it's a faff in the morning and as my hair is fine they slip.

Did you do it and like it with the extensions?

OP posts:
laurapatt · 22/08/2012 22:12

yes- loved it- but i never dyed my own hair! the ends of the hair are the oldest and the most damaged so bleaching them makes them frizzy & yuk!

beachyhead · 22/08/2012 22:17

I've just done it on my 15 yo dd and her friend.....I think therein lies the answer!
