Just bought the Me & Em maxi. Well I had a code..

You're on a maxi roll, Bloss! Thanks for the new thread. I don't need another jersey knee-length dress, to be honest. Maybe I should give maxis a whirl. While the 20% off works....

I can't open your link,Ants.

Decameron · 28/05/2012 21:37

Red, the last time DH and I played tennis, I stormed off in a temper. Blush He's a really good player and was trying to coach me.

Decameron · 28/05/2012 21:39

Are these way too casual?

suburban · 28/05/2012 21:42

Well done Red always good to have an actual reason to shop. Gap have some nice blazers at the moment which go well with dresses.

Decameron I am a maxi dress sceptic too, not on others just on me, and am still loving Amber's Gap roll top maxi skirt, maybe that's an option for you.

Fritzi I was sensible and got some new white jeans which i have needed for ages. Have decided like others not to buy anymore summer clothes, unless I suddenly need any before we go away. Am going to save for some new knitwear instead as mine is looking v shabby.

blossoming · 28/05/2012 21:46

Yey decam, go for the shorts!
My code was 15% [annoyed]

notyummy · 28/05/2012 21:46

So proud!

Thanks for the new thread Red.

blossoming · 28/05/2012 21:48

Ooh, interesting to see 40 bum's face today!

OP posts:
Decameron · 28/05/2012 21:51

I like maxi dresses on others too and do think they suit most people. I'm just not keen on covering up so I can catch some rays when I am walking around as I can't stand sunbathing!

loobylu3 · 28/05/2012 21:52

MIM- due date is third/ fourth week of June depending on which dates you believe!
I love this weather in spite of the cankles. I am just having to wash/ iron a bit more frequently because of limited clothing options!

fritzi- I am a Maxi virgin. Like suburban, have always been a bit sceptical. If I did get something, it would definitely have to work postnatally and preferably with BF.
Bloss- I like the knot front dresses a lot (flattering for the best and nice wide straps). Did you get the longer and shorter length or was the Maxi a different design?

Lovely links, hopefully

blossoming · 28/05/2012 21:54

The White Co one looked great with the Roxy, which is what I was after. For feet, I like the ones the 40 bum did a thing on, like these from Hush. Sold out in my size though. Completely ignoring the fact that my feet are ugly, even with a tan and with rouge noir on.

I've owned smart maxi dresses before, but the striped maxi I bought the other week was my first ever casual maxi. Given that I have worn it, ahem, five times in the 12 days or so since it arriving, I think it's safe to say I am converted to casual maxis Grin. I need more! Love the one you ordered Ants have been tempted by it, but too similar to TS on to be sensible I think.

Looby not long to go then!

I am really lusting after the DVF wrap I linked. Silly, as I am perfectly capable of making one (and have done before, back in my skinny student days), but really like the colour and the fabric looks nice. Hmm.

blossoming · 28/05/2012 22:06

I loved your links hopefully. Some lovely stuff around in your colours.

OP posts:
blossoming · 28/05/2012 22:17

Sorry looby, I missed that. The maxi is strapless with a waterfall feature at the front.

AmberNectarine · 28/05/2012 22:24

Glad dresses are good bloss, I'm quite the maxi convert myself. Have been wearing a green P8 one today, which I think you might also have had in another colour? I like it, but it is irritatingly low cut at the front. Am definitely getting this one even though DH hates it!

Ooh not long now looby, recent weather must have been tough for you, I remember from this time last year!

mim I loved your buys the other day, great shopping!

Am off to Westfield tomorrow, yippee!

Pickthatupplease · 28/05/2012 22:45

Can someone share the me &em code pls? Grin

Decameron · 28/05/2012 22:54

Ocado20 should still work for 20% off.

I'm sure your feet are perfectly lovely, Bloss. I've just ordered the 1-2-3 Magic book as DD1 can be a bit stroppy and I am not having it all summer! Have you found it useful?

It is going to cool down towards the end of the week. I'm over buying dresses (unless there are some good sales, of course).

Looby, great you are feeling well. When do you finish work?

blossoming · 29/05/2012 06:54

Definitely decam. Have implemented it at school and with DS. Thinking of trialling it with DH too Wink

notyummy · 29/05/2012 07:13

I have a green P8 maxi that I got as a bargain in the sale- suspect itughr be the same one as yours Amber. It is fairly low at the front, but quite flattering as it appears to make the most of my less-than-generous assets! It's not actually that long on me, but still counts as a maxi I think.

I think I may need this book of which you speak Decameron....

Just off to a local business breakfast before working the rest if the day at home and hopefully slipping out for a run. It's not supposed to be as hot so hopefully I will be ok. Dh going with dd to her school to see a spevu video they have made. I am a bit sad to be missing it, but she is very excited that DH can come (and has has told him to take notes of everything she does in the film 'so mummy doesn't feel like she missed out.' Grin) Social whirl for her this week with a Rainbows jubilee party tonight, a Jubilee lunch at school on Thursday (dress code: red, white and blue) and a school disco to follow in the evening. We have been outfit planning!

blossoming · 29/05/2012 08:03

this was the article I shared with decam ny. When I went on amazon I saw they had one for teachers too so I got that one.

MidnightinMoscow · 29/05/2012 08:06

Morning.

Glad the maxi works for you Bloss, the Chanel colour is "Orange Fizz" - needs a few coats though, or its too sheer for me.

Looby, not long now at all for you at all!

Need to do lots of tidying and sorting out today - would love to be outside, but have been putting it off for ages. DS's toys are a mess, and I am going to chuck all my hideous Primark underwear and PJ's that I wore when PG...much to DH's relief!

FritziGreenEyes · 29/05/2012 08:14

bloss Thanks for new thread! Love your new found passion for maxis Smile.

ollie Hope you have a safe journey back home and enjoyed your last night yesterday.

suburban White jeans definitely a very wise purchase. Loved your blog entry on self-tanning BTW!

looby How exciting! I thought you were due some time in autumn...

Wore the chambray jumpsuit again for school run this morning. It's great and soooo comfortable.

Portia4 · 29/05/2012 09:42

Morning everyone, another sunny Day here, but apparently it is to change later.

Sailing was great, we came 2nd overall, it was quite rough so it was oilskins with boots all the way!

I have worn my Hasbeens from last year more in the last few days than I did last year! I will wear my pale blue Armani skinnies with a WC linen Henley today.

My mum is treating myself and 4 sisters to a fan y lunch on the Thames on Sunday, to see the Queens flotilla go by, I need an outfit... It's just a day trip so I guess a pretty dress would be in order.

I have 3 maxis which I have never really worn, all this talk has inspired me to go wardrobe shopping and take another look at them.

Decameron · 29/05/2012 09:51

The book is cheaper here than on Amazon, NY. DD1 ran off down the street yesterday when I refused to buy her crisps and sulked for ages after. Not on!

That sounds like a nice day out, Portia. We are near the Thames so will walk down. DH reckons he will be working.

I liked your tanning post too, Suburban. I'm going to buy the No 7 facial tanner.

I found two pairs of Stuart Weitzman wedges in the attic when I was taking out the playpen. I love my attic!
