Hello all!

OP posts:
MrsCampbellBlack · 08/03/2012 14:37

Blue - I bought a pretty top in hobbs yesterday (not a usual haunt) but its very pretty with super skinnies and shourouk. this one

Have any of you who get UK vogue on subscription got the new one yet - I've never known it to be sooo late.

MarshaBrady · 08/03/2012 14:37

Lol Reine Grin.

I have decided to get Lanvin in the bright colour and on the look out for another bag.... I think.

I'm sure your hair looks fab. When I have a big event I use untested expensive products like serum and it goes funny and horrible (wedding day).

Great idea re profile too.

Thanks decam! Will check it out when home!

MrsCampbellBlack · 08/03/2012 14:38

Bloss - have you seen Kate Middy rocking the davina today?

IceCreamCastles · 08/03/2012 14:39

Afternoon all, love the marni excitement. A bit lost with who got what in the end but hope you're all happy with your purchases!

Had slight excitement/worry here this morning. The baby's headrests was vv high at midwife appt this morning so she sent me straight in for monitoring and told me to take my bags Shock. Only to find trace was completely normal and fine once we got seen Confused.
Had sweep so just relying on powers of full moon tonight now.

Really enjoying the children's party ideas. Dd still talks about hers from last year and is looking forward to the big '3' in may. Not sure what we'll do yet-hate not being able to rely on the weather.

IceCreamCastles · 08/03/2012 14:48

Oh and just thought I'd share a completely random exchange with dd from yesterday:
Had a big tantrum over not being able to find an acorn on the walk back from playgroup (seasonal awareness obv not her forte)
I had to drag/carry her up the hill and then she threw herself on the floor when we got in
Cried like the world was ending for about 5 minutes
Then sat up and asked in a completely normal voice....
'where do spiders wee?'
Confused Confused Confused

Russianred · 08/03/2012 14:53

Children's party ideas are lovely, can't wait to do big ones this year, having never had any before.

Reine I am sure it can't be that bad! I am really hoping that the silver sandals don't render me cankled.

You must have been very panicked Icey - glad all is well and hope the sweep takes effect. You know, I am convinced that you and MiM are going to have babies who share a birthday.

Decameron are you coming to the MU? I was very much hoping to meet you.

Thanks Dauphin, I'm fine, just a bit of house/financial foot-stamping stuff. Need to get a little bit of perspective sometimes.

Hope all is going with for you Blue, you sounds remarkably chipper for having been up at 3.30! Is DD getting to that lovely awake for longer stage yet?

MidnightinMoscow · 08/03/2012 15:10

Oh Icey how exciting...fingers crossed the sweep works it's magic later for you.

TMI alert - I had a show earlier, so I really hoping the end is nigh here. However, my sweep is booked for 9am tomorrow.

Glad to hear many of you got your Marni purchases today, love the shopping lists and requests from across Europe. Smile

Bonsoir · 08/03/2012 15:26

Hmm, I seem to have embraced H&M Marni-mania more avidly and less wisely than the rest of you Blush and am contemplating my not inconsiderable purchases and wondering which I should keep and which I should return (or sell to friends - I already have a queue lining up to view what I don't want). The thing is with Marni, unlike other brands, is that single items are really hard to style with items from other brands and that was, IMO, even truer than usual with the H&M collection. I can quite understand how posters didn't fall in love with items because you sort of need to buy a whole look in order to style it in a meaningful way.

pickledsiblings · 08/03/2012 15:44

What is the sizing like Bonsoir? I completely agree about needing to buy nine more than one thing. Don't suppose you have a size 3 in the wooden heel platforms that you don't want?

pickledsiblings · 08/03/2012 15:46

Oh MiM, how exciting, fingers crossed for you Smile.

Bonsoir · 08/03/2012 15:51

pickledsiblings - I didn't even try to buy shoes - I have very difficult feet and the styles didn't look like anything I would be able to wear. I bought everything in a 40 (12), which is slightly on the big side for me, but Marni is much better worn bigger than smaller. And the dresses look better belted, which I didn't manage to acquire this morning, but that is easily remedied in the real Marni store or elsewhere.

The swimsuit looked absolutely massive in a 40, so I bought a 36 instead and it fits perfectly. Very odd!

pickledsiblings · 08/03/2012 15:58

Aw, I wanted the swimsuit. I wish I'd had your insight, most of what I bought will probably be too small. What size J Brands do you wear?

Bonsoir · 08/03/2012 15:59

My Houlihans are 29.

Bonsoir · 08/03/2012 16:00

What did you buy, pickled?

MarshaBrady · 08/03/2012 16:03

No sounds great Bonsoir! I was feeling cross at myself for not sticking around to shop online.

Wish I had got a few pieces. I liked the scarf in particular.

pickledsiblings · 08/03/2012 16:11

Thanks for the J Brand info! Perhaps all is not lost. I bought mainly tops, the silk V ones and the zig zag one and the spot skirt (in a 12 phew!). Oh and the patterned bag and the gold 'blouse' and some cheapy H&M shoes like WIT's. [zig zag dress in a 10 will most definately not fit, in fact none of it may look right but it's all good fun, isn't it] I saw on the other thread that you bought one of everything Grin

MrsCampbellBlack · 08/03/2012 16:16

Bonsoir - which bits are looking like real winners?

pickledsiblings · 08/03/2012 16:26

I'm always telling the DC it's defin-ite-ly Grin.

FritziGreenEyes · 08/03/2012 16:36

Was so exhausted from all the Marni excitement and my big lunch that I had to have an extended nap this afternoon Blush Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 08/03/2012 16:37

mim Smile

notyummy · 08/03/2012 16:45

Hello- just leaving Birmingham so Marni mania has passed me by. Glad they a few of you have got some bits and pieces though.

Decameron- I can lend you DH on commission- I am sure he would manage a cat cake. I, on the other hand, would not even try.

Am exhausted and have eaten far too much rubbish today. At this rate none of my MU outfits will fit! Long run tomorrow in compensation I think.

blue2711 · 08/03/2012 16:46

Excited by your updates mim and icey. Good luck!

DD is still sleeping lots but when she's awake just gazes intently into your eyes; it's divine. DS is as besotted with her as me and keeps sneaking off to kiss her.

Wow to bonsoir. Know exactly what you mean about it all working together best. Bet you'll have some fantastic outfits out of that haul. Not v impressed with how the Grazia girls look in their pieces though... (ooh, bitchy! sorry!)

Always walk past Hobbs as my mum likes it mrscb but do really like that top. Are you blue bonnetts 811 style or skinnier? Funny you've discarded roxy as I'm going to try and exchange my TS version tomorrow even though I bought it in December. Tags still on though so fingers crossed. Would love to swap it for a few pairs of coloured skinnies. Fingers crossed.

blue2711 · 08/03/2012 16:47

Didn't proof read hence double finger crossing!

MarshaBrady · 08/03/2012 16:56

Just looked Blue.

I agree, that spotty skirt is for the very slender! The bagaholicboy.com/category/hm/ looks great in it.
