I've been doing it for 2 years now. I don't even want to know how much money I would have spend in the meantime at the salon. It's so easy! And I have the confidence now to try different styles, different ponytail positions etc. Goodbye long layers, hello shoulder length cut! And I don't have to sit in the hairdressers chair and cringe because I hate it when they brush my hair due to an old skull fracture.

That and the mooncup. Saved me a fortune!

Brilliant!

Oh my word.....the temptation is too great.

Psammead · 10/02/2012 16:31

Showme - absolutely. You choose how much length you keep.

Eeek ok am going to take the ponytail out. If I can work out how to blank out my face I'll take a photo and post it.

If the MN cut works I may push the boat out and get the MN scarf too.

And some naice ham.

ViviPru · 10/02/2012 16:33

Release the hairband! Release the hairband! Voyeuristic hysteria is setting in here...

Ifancyanewname · 10/02/2012 16:33

did I see that girl in the link had her front ponytail slightly to the side?

StickAForkInMeImDone · 10/02/2012 16:33

It doesn't look any different Sad maybe slightly thinned out. Think I need to take a bit more off?

MrsDeeBee · 10/02/2012 16:33

Ooooh, Stick !

How's it looking ?

Psammead · 10/02/2012 16:33

Psammead · 10/02/2012 16:33

Did you do the 'stabby stabby cut cut cut' bit for layers ?

Or do you not want them ?

Maybe cut a little more ?

handbagCrab · 10/02/2012 16:34

God I'm so tempted, it looks so easy and I'm desperate for a cut.

Would it work with cheap 3 for a pound ikea scissors or should I get some more expensive ones at the weekend before I'm for the chop?

lemniscate · 10/02/2012 16:35

This is way more exciting than a live labour thread :o

I get this thing at the hairdressers where for the first 30 minutes I'm all 'It doesn't look any different' Sad ... then spend the next 30 minutes going 'shit the bed, it looks a bit different' Sad

Psammead · 10/02/2012 16:35

Ifancy, yes, ponytail needs to be over your parting, if that makes sense.

I have just read all of this then carried out said haircut and I am impressed with the results. I wonder how many others are doing it right now??? Thanks Psammed Grin

Showmethemhappyfeet · 10/02/2012 16:35

I'm gonna do it... Where's the scissors...Hmm

MrsDeeBee · 10/02/2012 16:35

"I feel very responsible........"

Followed by "More more, cut more" !

LikeAnAdventCandleButNotQuite · 10/02/2012 16:35

My hair is rather wavy and so I straighten it most days...should I straigten it first, and do you all cut it dry?

StickAForkInMeImDone · 10/02/2012 16:36

No didn't do "stabby stabby" maybe that is where I went wrong.
Right, 1 more inch plus a little stabby stabby.

MrsDeeBee · 10/02/2012 16:36

Photo, Fizzy ? Please. Smile

StickAForkInMeImDone · 10/02/2012 16:36
