Scarfaholic - you poor thing. Horrible that you've gone through this and all the emotions that go with it. Big hugs from me too. Fingers crossed you get the alexa and have a great time on your trip away.

DS2 has a free day today so DH took DS1 to school. Doorbell went at 9.30 and it was the central heating guy for the annual service. im standing there in PJs and bed hair, not a good look.

Hopefully Im the same height as you and Bloss. You look taller in your photos, Im very envious!

DH saw my coral jeans and assumed Id brought them just for Queens Day - when everyone dresses in orange......he has no idea.

OllieinOrange · 10/02/2012 08:53

MiM putting my professional hat on for a minute, why does the objection mean additional work for your surveyors? Is he objecting on grounds of overlooking and wants additional information on views etc? May be worth ringing the Planning Officer dealing with your applcation to ask their view on any additional work?

Russianred · 10/02/2012 08:59

Scarf I'm so sorry. What a confusion of emotions. Be good to yourself and hope you can enjoy your weekend away.

Not much snow here, just enough to cause disruption. DS has spent the last half an hour watching the school runners from the window and keeping me briefed on who is slipping in the snow.

MiM your neighbour sounds annoying, much as he is within his rights. Is it a party wall and his concern for disruption thing?

Thanks for boots feedback - of course I'm still dithering.

I thought you might have some info Ollie!

Basically the landlord wants an independent opinion on what we are doing, which we would have to pay for. They are also saying that we didn't serve the papers correctly, which is rubbish as we did exactly what the loft company advised.

Worryingly, when we went to planning office at the council, the guy said we didn't need party wall agreement...but we are cutting into it so I am pretty sure we do.

ReineDeSaba · 10/02/2012 09:03

scarf so sorry you have been through the mill..hope your weekend away gives you a little time for yourself when you need it most.

MidnightinMoscow · 10/02/2012 09:03

red, go for the tan.

I believe we also have the same M&S shoe boots too. Grin

Hopefully · 10/02/2012 09:05

Scarf it must be confusing, but try not to feel guilty about your feelings. everything occasionally repeats a phrase to me which I can't quote word for word, but is something along the lines of "whatever I'm feeling, I'm ok". It gives you the mindset of any emotion being ok to feel.

Have been out in the piddly bit of snow we have building teeny weeny snowmen, which DS1 is enormously impressed with. Am sporting new Brora cardigan, along with about 14 other layers.

Hopefully · 10/02/2012 09:07

Ollie having some Dramatic (in HoC speak) in my personality/build mean that everyone thinks I am taller than I am Smile

OllieinOrange · 10/02/2012 09:09

Hmmmm. If youve had to apply for planning permission, then its the Councils job to correctly publicise the application and notify neighbours. is the landlord complaining because the letter went to the property and not his home address?
re the party wall, just get something in writing from the Council to cover yourself just in case? Either from the planners or Building Control?

AmberNectarine · 10/02/2012 09:19

Right, Comptoir silk top is going back, tried it on this morning for DH, who is back to normal now thankfully, and his comments were 'frumpy and makes you look flat chested which is impressive as you have massive boobs'. The sartorialist, he ain't, but for nearly £90 I want him to not hate it! The coated skinnies are very nice but have a weirdly creasy crotch, so have a stay of execution while I look for others over the weekend, if nothing better I will keep. NY which were your H&M ones? zembo I only saw black, I'm afraid, but various styles.

MiM how unbelievably annoying, especially as he isn't a homeowner, the law is an ass sometimes.

scarf so sorry to hear what you've been through. Please don't feel bad, I was very unsure when I fell pg with DS as DH and in had only been together properly for 6 months. When I nearly lost him at 25 weeks I felt it was my fault for wishing him away at the start, but of course it wasn't, any more than this is yours. Having a baby is such a wonderful thing, but such a massive responsibility and a lot of hard work, and with your DD2 so young still no one would blame you for having reservations, so don't be down on yourself! Thanks Lovely that you have an Alexa to look forward to.

red I'd get tan for S/S. Am seriously hankering after a pair of tan Pistols but know I should go for cheaper alternative. What do you W&A ladies think?

After eating half a bag of Tangfastics for dinner last night I have reached an impasse, and have decided I must try and eat more healthily. Esp as bf! Blush

ApuskiMcClusky · 10/02/2012 09:20

Scarf, I'm so sorry to hear you've been having a tough time. I like everything's saying that Hopefully* wrote, I hope all of us sending our love helps just a little.

AmberNectarine · 10/02/2012 09:27

Oh, verity forgot to say you are an amazing friend!

FritziGreenEyes · 10/02/2012 09:29

scarfy So sorry you have to go through this. Un-MN hugs from me.

ollie resolutely putting on her professional hat made me realize once again how many different and amazing talents are on this thread Smile

Have just got an Amazon delivery: First series of Borgen and CleanLean Cookbook.

Sitting in our bedroom sipping coffee, surrounded by F&B samples. Feels very indulgent but as DD's school finishes at 12 today I decided it's not worth switching on the computer for work Wink Love Fridays!

AmberNectarine · 10/02/2012 09:42

too short, ollie?

AntPants1 · 10/02/2012 09:48

Oh scarf big hug from me. Please do not feel guilty. So glad you can express yourself on the thread.

Go ollie get you with your building regs knowledge! Fingers crossed mim.

Congratulations red and what a genius move in the childcare.

It's all go in the pants household! Work is still manic. Had very tough day on weds being pulled in every direction so was weak when a couple of colleagues suggested a 'quick' drink! Oh my head on Thursday! Oh and had disaster with lovely jigsaw shoeboots. The heal just fell off. Seriously was walking one minute and hobbling the next. Will of course try and find time this weekend to return. Car has flat battery so waiting in quick fit for new one to be installed before taking DD to drs for sore ear.... But all of this pales into insignificance to what my lovely DS is going through. She is in hospital in ICU with pneumonia. Very very worrying as she is pregnant. Will try and get to see her with chocolate and magazines and large hug. Worrying times.

Oh and verity your friend has very badly taken advantage of you. Am amazed at your fortitude but agree with others. You must put your foot down on Sunday. She is a grown up and needs to manage her own childcare/ creepy DH.

MrsCampbellBlack · 10/02/2012 09:53

Red - I'd go for black as they work so well with indigos etc. For spring - I prefer the marant a likes from NL as the bit that goes down at the front is more leg lengthening with lighter colour skinnies I think. And I need all the leg lengthening help I can get Smile

Amber - I have some black coated skinnies from comptoir and find the same re. the creasing - really annoys me so don't wear them and have added to my ever increasing ebay pile.

Brilliant delivery man just battled through with this which is perfect for me - I do love a bit of chanel style with skinnies.

MrsCampbellBlack · 10/02/2012 09:57

Oh Ants - fingers crossed your sister gets better soon.

Fritzi - am really loving clean and lean and have cooked a lot of the recipes in the past couple of weeks. Oh and adored Borgen too - very sad it has now finished - hope they show the next series soon.
