Ooops!

Purchases sound lovely Bonsoir - I'd been looking at both those skirts online as are so pretty.

The skirts are both nicer in RL than on line - the cotton cheapy one is particularly easy to wear - looks fab with navy.

Russianred · 24/02/2012 13:21

I prefer the Gap one Annie, although more likely to get snagged? Of course, this is dependant on how 'neat' DD is - my two stain/wreck clothes so bloody quickly.

I'm in a terrible grump today; put my back out picking both DC up at the same time yesterday, which I really need to stop doing as DS is a heavy guy. Am also v ill with this viral thing. Bleurgh. I may have tried to start an argument with the bin men on my way to pre-school Blush.

Lovely shirt Marsha - you really do have your style down, don't you? When you link to things, I can absolutely see you in them.

I already have some nice H&M shorts for the summer - a navy pair and a white pair. They're a really great fit.

anniemac - I very much prefer the mini-Boden lace dress to the Gap one! I think the mini-Boden is fab, fab, fab!

Annie I was leaning towards the gap one too, but the boden one looks really nice on the girl in the picture, much better than it does flat, so it's getting my vote.

Sanuk · 24/02/2012 14:26

Annie I love the Boden one, much prefer it to the Gap

I have been very industrious ... Finished a chest and painted a little chair for DD1s room in Joa's White....looks very nice...but was a bit of a silly billy, despite wearing an apron I managed to get eggshell on my plum merino wool cardi....

Have also made Parsnip and Ginger soup for lunch tomorrow. Oh, and most improtantly have popped a bottle of Sauv. in the fridge for tonight!!!

Can you link to the bags yet Marsha? Ooh, I love Chanel cosmetics - well Chanel everything-how I wish! The lipsticks last ages, and have real staying power, I find.

I prefer the Boden dress Annie. I do think Gap quality is a bit Hmm at the moment.

Mrscb - Tulip and Nettle have a very old fashioned Rose coloured 'Jumble Sale' jumper which is which I think is gorgeous....it's handknitted - and vintage looking.

Dauphin · 24/02/2012 14:38

I mean cardigan....

Bonsoir · 24/02/2012 14:58

I would have loved that Tulip & Nettle cardigan when DD was little, Dauphin.

Her goal is to channel Parisian teenagers these days, so sadly hand-knitted cardigans are no longer possible!

scarfaholic · 24/02/2012 15:59

Annie, DD1 has that Boden dress, it's very cute. She wore a new coat to school today, several people complimented her and she kept replying, "yes, I look good." No confidence issues there.

Well done on the weight loss, Bloss.

Bonsoir, I like the sound of your spring shopping.

I have shrunk almost every sweater I own in the new washing machine, next autumn will be expensive and/or chilly.

Red, get well soon.

Bonsoir · 24/02/2012 17:31

anniemac - well done on getting the Boden dress - I was in Gap this afternoon and saw their version and didn't go for it. I thought the Gap girls' clothes generally uninspiring this season.

Thank you, scarfaholic. I managed to shrink my favourite sweater buy of AW11 - a black polo neck shawl that went with everything. I bunged it in a normal black wash with socks etc by mistake. Grrrr.

loobylu3 · 24/02/2012 17:45

Quick hello as at work. I like both the dresses, Annie. Saw the Gap one last weekend and thought it looked v pretty but didn't buy/ try as waiting for a discount! I like the Boden one too but it wouldn't suit my DD1 as she is a v slender build and dresses with lots of material (nearly all the Boden ones) look ridiculous on her and tent like. DD2 is v tall and less delicate so she would probably suit the Boden one. Anyway, I think it depends on your DD's shape as to which dress/ clothes in general would suit better. Was also thinking of buying either the Gap or Boden denim jkt too. Agree with bonsoir that Gap generally v disappointing nowadays for girls.
Will try to catch up properly later...

Good news on the bikini front! Of the three I ordered I will be keeping two:

Polka dot....which has mysteriously sold out in nearly all sizes since it was linked to here. W & A effect? Wink

Animal print.

Both very wearable. The polka dot could be carried off by someone better endowed than me as there is a reasonable amount of coverage on top - although not loads of support. A good buy and am pleased. The animal print is slightly smaller and will definitely be an incentive not to overindulge before the holiday as literally one or two pounds would make the difference between the bottoms fitting perfectly and digging in and leaving nasty 'bulges' - quelle horreur!

Beautiful clothes links for DDs!

I am suffering slightly today as did No More Trouble Zones very enthusiastically yesterday after a pep talk about upping the weights (it will NOT bulk you up apparently unless you eating some special diet and hefting 120kg above your head.) So i worked really hard and am now stiff as a board!! Was supposed to do an 8 mile run but phoned it in for a 45 session on the crosstrainer....

Gosh, anniemac, you need to consult my DD not me - she's the one who apparently spends all her time outside ogling girls ten years older than she is!

She's very fond of shorts/tights/boots and also has a handbag with her toy mobile, bus tickets and, she hopes very soon, a set of house keys dream on. Part of it all stems from her acting club, which is every Wednesday afternoon - she is the youngest in the group but very keen indeed to fit in. She had her ears pierced at Christmas and now has all sorts of plans oh no for what she might wear in the holes.

Bonsoir · 24/02/2012 18:43

For mothers of DSs: I was in Petit Bateau this afternoon and thought that this hoody was ultra nice - they were also matching bottoms. The blue isn't navy and is much more sophisticated!

blossoming · 24/02/2012 18:47

Thanks for linking the oscar thing notyummy. So cleverly written.
Thanks also ollie for the pm, and for linking the KM dress. I may have to check out KM when in London.
Looking forward to some wine and a catch up later.
