I'm really tempted to try ones of these. Anyone recommend Glossy Box, Boudoir Prive, Feel Unique or similar? I keep reading beauty blogs to see which is best.

Re the Carmine £5 offer, apparently it's randomly generated on the Facebook page. It didn't come up for me. I googled & eventually it turned up on the right hand side on Google. There wasn't a code or I would put it here.

Also a new Beauty Box has just been launched - "She Said". It's cheaper at £9 plus p&p and there's 25% off for the next month. However, we don't know what's going to be in it yet, so I'm going to wait and watch the Beauty Blogs. Latest in Beauty is also worth watching. Cheaper than the others & you get to see what is in the box first - no subscription.

Ooh housewife you are so in the know! Grin You have opened a whole new world for me Smile

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 26/01/2012 10:13

Oo housewife thanks for that tip !
Am still debating Carmine....
But thanks to Morris I'm off to the Yves Rocher site to reminisce !
Still waiting for my Feel Unique box ...

AlpinePony · 26/01/2012 12:04

Just got my Glossybox this morning. I'm very pleased with it - l'occitane shower gel, redken hairspray, fancy German/Swedish (?) Moisturiser, eye-shadow and a spendy facial scrub. Beautifully packaged too!

Kellamity · 26/01/2012 12:43

Alpine that sounds great!

cyb · 26/01/2012 15:50

My cupboard is already groaning under the weight of sample sizes found in promotional gifts from buying make up.

I woudl rather save up and spend it on QVC where I can send it back if I dont like it

And most of the brands Decleor, Lulu Time Bomb (arf) and Daniel Sandler are available on there too

cyb · 26/01/2012 15:51

Its probably all freebies sent to the cosmetic compnay

MadamTwoSwords · 26/01/2012 19:36

alpine how have you got GB they're not supposed to be shipped till tomorrow!?

AlpinePony · 26/01/2012 19:41

I'm not in the UK. I got it delivered about half an hour before I got an email saying it would be sent "soon". ;)

MadamTwoSwords · 26/01/2012 19:46

Tell me to mind my own but are you in Ireland? I know GB are franchised so different countries get different products but Ireland is the same as here?
(I always read the last page of my book too!)

anniewoo · 26/01/2012 20:09

So tell me... You get sent full size products for £10 a month? How do the companies make money? These beauty boxes sound too good to be true

AlpinePony · 27/01/2012 06:43

twoswords I'm in the Netherlands. :)

anniewoo I have no idea how they're making a profit - tbh I expect the quality to decline in a few months - otoh maybe its good marketing? E.g., the moisturiser I got yesterday is gorgeous and I'd definitely search it out again, yet I'd never heard of the brand before.

Housewife2010 · 27/01/2012 11:45

It's a mixture of full size & large sample sizes. It's a way for the brands to reach new customers & the Beauty Box people are buying in bulk hence large discounts for them. Some Beauty Box firms then enable you to buy the full size products from them, often at a discount.
I'm sitting at the window now willing the postman to turn up with my Latest in Beauty/You box which I ordered on Sunday.

OP posts:
Housewife2010 · 27/01/2012 12:02

This code is no good for me because I've ordered before, but because I'm so nice I'll tell you all about it...
If you order your 1st Glossybox by 31/1 & use this code - CLOTHESSHOW687 - you can get it for half price.
If you are willing to let me earn Glossypoints for referring you, please PM me your email address & I'll refer you to Glossybox. Thank you to anyone who lets me do this - it will give me points towards a free box. x

louby86 · 27/01/2012 14:36

Thanks housewife I've just signed up! A bit confused though, do you know if I'll get the January one delivered now and then I'll get a February one too?

Housewife2010 · 27/01/2012 14:39

Hello Louby
I reckon you'll get the January one. This month's has been delayed; they've started shipping them today. They have promised it will be extra-special & will have a Valentine's theme. I'm really looking forward to mine.

OP posts:
chocolatespiders · 27/01/2012 14:43

Louby- which one have you signed up for?

louby86 · 27/01/2012 14:52

Thanks housewife I'm looking forward to it arriving now! Beauty products are the only things for me I'm excited about buying at the minute. My first baby is due in 3 weeks so not looking or feeling my best and the moment and thought this would cheer me up!
