Beauty Boxes

I'm really tempted to try ones of these. Anyone recommend Glossy Box, Boudoir Prive, Feel Unique or similar? I keep reading beauty blogs to see which is best.

Thanks Chaos
I really appreciate that. I've PM'ed you.

I might carry on with the Glossybox for a few months then swap to a different one. I'm not too fussed by lotions and potions but am a sucker for makeup and hair stuff Blush

I think if people sign up to Glossybox through your recommendation, you get 20 'Glossydots' and get a free box once you've got 1000. Could take a while though!

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 18/01/2012 22:19

kellamity I really like the look of Carmine , be sure to post when it arrives !
I feel like a school girl again when I used to get all excited about Yves Rocher !

Housewife2010 · 18/01/2012 22:26

I used to get very excited about Yves Rocher. I'd spend ages going through the brochure & opening all the little scrolls & things to see which freebies I could get.
I know I'm very greedy but if anyone else wants to try a Glossybox & wants to PM me their email so I could get Glossydots by referring them I'd be very grateful. Not compulsory & very cheeky, but if you don't ask...
I really want to try the Boudoir Prive (Jolie Box) one now too but the facebook comments on customer service are appalling.

ok i have never heard of these before but now i want one, which one? im late 30s wear neutral makeup rather than party style, love nice bubbles and perfume.Im not that fussed with designer names but like to feel a bit pampered. any suggestions? actually, i need somebody to tell me the one to buy before i subscribe to them all.

Housewife2010 · 18/01/2012 22:58

Hello Frazzled
You sound similar to me. I've had the one Glossybox so far & I was very happy with it. If you go on the site you can see contents of previous boxes to see if you like them. You only get 5 of the possible products each month so there's a bit of luck whether you get what you'd choose, but you fill in a beauty profile with your preferences.
I want all of them - a different one every week!

I'm a scrooge so I've signed up for FeelUnique as there's no delivery charge. Grin

I'll be back on here when it arrives so we can ''discuss'' Smile

dyzzidi · 18/01/2012 23:28

Marking my place for updates!

Abirdinthehand · 18/01/2012 23:36

Ohh, I just signed up for the Amarya one! I only use organic/natural products, and it will be soooo useful to be able to try them out - plus exciting - plus the are damn expensive so it will probably be really useful if they send shower stuff, moisturiser etc which I'd end up buying anyhow. And I can ebay bits I dont want. How exciting!!

AlpinePony · 19/01/2012 09:50

I've just signed up for GlossyBox - it's so cheap and should give me a little lift each month. I love make-up and hair stuff but am less excited about skincare/perfume as I think I know what I like these days.

vjg13 · 19/01/2012 10:00

I had no idea about these but now want to sign up. I'm 44, can anyone suggest which one may be best.

TIA Smile

voscar · 19/01/2012 13:15

I have never heard of these either! But i've now signed up for the Boudoir Prive and the Feel Unique one. I'll let you know how I get on.

Thanks for the tips!

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 19/01/2012 15:26

voscar I signed up for Feel Unique too.
Do you think we will get the same things.

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 19/01/2012 15:27

I am annoyed with DH today Sad so may have signed up for another by the time I go to bed.

voscar · 19/01/2012 15:51

Nannyplum I think so -but I'll report back and let you know!

ggirl · 19/01/2012 15:57

My mum used to get something like this in the late 70's in Canada. As a teen it was so exciting , it was all makeup ..god I loved it.

ReneeVivien · 19/01/2012 17:59

This is VERY exciting and I feel a whole new addiction coming on.

Does anyone know if there is a beauty box that is particularly good for black women?

porkypine · 19/01/2012 18:35

Hi Renee, I'm afraid I don't know but Blaque Pearl may be able to help - she subscribes to 4 (!) so it's perhaps worth asking her opinion, because she reviews them each month.

DottyDot · 19/01/2012 18:55

eeeeek - I want to get one but don't know which....

ReneeVivien · 19/01/2012 21:26

porkypine - thanks so much, that's really kind.

Housewife2010 · 20/01/2012 21:47

I've just been charged for my 2nd GlossyBox - due in a week. Looking forward to accosting the postman!

OP posts:
NannyPlumIsMyMum · 20/01/2012 21:53

Oo will you give us the low down please of what's in there when it arrives ? Smile

Housewife2010 · 20/01/2012 22:00

Definitely. We'll have to report on all our different boxes. I've been staying up far too late this week googling beauty box contents - very silly when I ought to be getting my beauty sleep!

ChaosTrulyReigns · 23/01/2012 16:22

Zippity doo dah.

My Glossy Box has arrived and it is fab.

I feel all spoiled and pampered.

A small word of warning though: I was so excited to get all tactile with it I have been messing with it in my car (grabbed it from postman on way out), unfortunately, the Rituals Foaming Shower Gel doesn't just squeeze a teeny amount out on first press. Oh friffing no - a whole jet of white stuff splurted out all over my dashboard and back coat. I shall let your imagination fill in the gaps as to what it resembles. Great.

Smells divine though. Hmm

buggyRunner · 23/01/2012 16:29

What was in it? When did you order? I ordered mine last night! How long wil I be waiting- so excited!
