Yes Anniemac looked great in Kill Bill yellow plus wig. Great suggestions here.

Yes to Gogo Yubari and would love the Princess Aura look - might take some investing in costume though. Couldn't do the Elle Driver look unfortunately, although the patch would be helpful for my drink-induced squint Wink.

Wolfman not Iceman NY!

Keep them coming ladies, you're bloody brilliant.

notyummy · 10/01/2012 22:46

I went through a phase of reading them Annie as my best friends big brother read them. Mainly just SF novels though- I still read them now (as well as Booker prize winners, obviously Wink.

notyummy · 10/01/2012 22:48

I think the cougar from DD could work well red, I seem to remember her wearing a fab sparkly dress in one scene!

ApuskiMcClusky · 10/01/2012 22:56

NYE, have you seen the Whistles Lula dress? It has got a 'gather', but relatively plain. Sorry, on phone and can't link.

Yes, the colour is nothing like that in RL. I'll keep an eye out. The only other one I've seen in the DVF leron dress in teal, but probably not fitted enough for you.

You are all making me giggle wiith the 80s trivia and general geekery!

My outfit today: cobalt blue t-shirt and flowery miniskirt. It's 34 degrees.

Carciofi just wanted to say NOT AT ALL SPOILED to have a babysitter one day a week! In the Olden Days women at home with small children would have had all kinds of help, whether family or paid, and the idea that mothers should be at home 24/7 with small children and no assistance whatsoever is a new phenomenon which only began in the 1950s at the earliest (in many places later because of extended families and people living closer together). Being at home alone with kids without family support happens much more now because people move all over the world. Also the average working day has extended by something like 2 hours since the 1980s alone so mothers today can be at home alone for much longer. So no guilt for getting help allowed! And hats off to all SAHMS, who are probably doing harder yards than previous generations (I'll grant you that appliances are a Very Good Thing compared those generations though although again I think hours on housework for mothers are identical to what they were in the 1950s....)

Sorry for diversion. Back to shopping, as you were ladies!

Welcome to new folks and thanks to those who have sneakily revealed namechanges to me.

OllieinOrange · 11/01/2012 07:42

Wink at Annies pvc nurse outfit!
Bloss that Acne dress is lovely. Will you get it? Love the blue colourway too. Thought this Helmut Lang one looked good too but quite long as model is 5ft9 here
Carciofi really pleased about you finding a babysitter. Im not ashamed to admit I would have come undone if I didnt have some time off when DSs were at home. As DH says "happy wife, happy life".

Zara has pale pink skinnies in store now if anyone fancies a trying on session to see how they look in them?

Completely forgot to book my MU flight before the easyjet special offer ran out, so annoyed at myself. Will book it now. We are def on for the 17th March right?

The lovely white cotton collarless blouse from Sfra in Barcelona that I wear a lot esp with little cardigans has finally bitten the dust - worn through to holes. Will need a replacement as it filled a big hole in my wardrobe.

Coffee morning with Mums from school today - wearing my Kew skinnies, long brown Kew boots, camel coloured poncho/cardi thing from last winter and chunky cream snood. Banana bread ready to go too. Have lovely Wednesdays everyone.

OIO lucky school mums - I love banana bread.

I may have slightly ordered a few bits from the Reiss sale, will see what they look like when they arrive. Didn't end up ordering the gorgeous draped dress as the colour was so wrong for me, but have a Vogue pattern that is similar, might make a version for wedding in April. I like draping so much more on me when I'm a bit slimmer, looks less ill-fitting-kaftan-style than it does at a size 14 with F cup boobs.

MidnightinMoscow · 11/01/2012 08:28

Morning.

Great dress Bloss, looks really good on the website with the biker.

Have a good morning Ollie, DH bought home a copy of the GBBO cookbook for me last night (peace offering?). Some fairly technical stuff in there.

Love all the 80's film chat last night. Will assume a very innocent as to why Annie owns a PVC nurses uniform. Grin

Today I am wearing a brown thin knit short sleeved dress from gap, with a white scoop necked top underneath. Black opaques (again).

AmberNectarine · 11/01/2012 09:14

I am currently sporting some fab Primes cow print PJs. Sorry to make you all feel inadequate by posting such a chic ensemble. Will report back with a bit less sartorial elegance later.
