Best I could come up with......

Morning! I've just boxed up and returned 8 boxes of unsuccessful sales shopping (!). Yay for NAP and HoF for their easy returns, actually Zara v good as well. Boo for Coggles, had to go hunting on the website for their returns policy. And pay postage obv. My decisiveness on what to keep and what to return was aided by the arrival of my credit card bill (yikes!) - though I have kept the Isabella Oliver zig zag dress after all it may well work as a meet-up dress.

NY, wise I think.

Lol Fritzi at Icey's pregnant thighs - absolutely true though!

OllieinOrange · 13/01/2012 12:24

No luck in the 2 stores I went too in search of HL dress so will order from NAP later today. Rang the third to save a wasted journey. Can you imagine how thrilled DH was to take my call in a meeting asking how to say "draped jersey dress" in Dutch?! The HL dresses in one of the stores were all around 500 euros - I get so frustrated with the mark up on clothes over here! Thanks for the sizing info Amber.

Wrap has their SS collection online. No lovely Bloss linen shorts this year unfortunately but liked this tshirt in the blue and the grey here - nice back on it I think. This in dewdrop could be nice too?

P8 also has their new range in and these navy ballet pumps caught my eye.

Sounds like you've been vey Wise with all those returns Apuski. I am in a constant state of returns at the moment - no drama for me as my business requires me to be at the post office practically every day anyway.

Am following Bloss's admirable example and trying to think about a useful (if rather different, given my self employed status) capsule wardrobe. Am trying to have a few ideas before doing my style day on the weekend.

ApuskiMcClusky · 13/01/2012 12:27

Ollie, if you're still unsure about sizing give NAP a call and explain the discrepancy on the two sites - they're normally really good about that sort of thing.

ApuskiMcClusky · 13/01/2012 12:33

Hopefully I hate doing returns, I used to live round the corner from a lovely post office but now it involves a car journey and a struggle to park. Hence getting them all done in one go! But now both DH and I have Fridays off work I am hoping for much more RL shopping! Having said that, DH has 'popped' in to the office again ...Hmm

Actually I think Bloss' capsule wardrobe also influenced some of my keep/don't keep decisions!

AmberNectarine · 13/01/2012 12:37

ollie I definitely wouldn't have wanted the dress any smaller than a medium, it actually looks very small on the hanger, the ruching makes it stretch out nicely. It actually reminds me a lot of the Isabella Oliver asymmetric dress I had when pg, which I loved. I think a lot of why it looks so long on the m

Hello.

Did my CD again today, and woke up 2 hours later! I can't see how its working if I keep falling asleep. Watched OBEM last night with a cushion in front of my face. Grin

Ollie that's exactly the sort of thing my DH would say re savings and ordering from NAP/elsewhere. He is a believer in going for the simpler option rather than the cheaper all the time! Agree to calling NAP, they are very helpful.

NY Houlihans fitting - they are true to size when you put them on but do give a fair bit once you have had them on for a while. I'd still go for my size though as I prefer to have the option of wearing them even when I am feeling a little more 'rotund.

Sorry about the number of returns Apuski, but very wise to be sending things back that you are not 100% about.

Love hearing about your wardrobe Bloss. I know your heart is in teaching, but I could really see you doing some sort of lifestyle management role too.

Fantastic news re HoC NY, what a great new journey for you. Congratulations.

ApuskiMcClusky · 13/01/2012 13:20

Yes, NYE, that's the one. I originally got it for work, but it's effectively a bandage dress so didn't suit that purpose - the fabric is that stiff stretchy jersey, the photos don't really make that clear. I ordered the top in that Breton fabric, but it's gone back, it was too boxy. Good quality thick fabric though. And no I don't think the dress is too short!

Need to fix my laptop, buy a new one or treat myself to an iPad, so that I can start doing links again, and cross-reference the thread when writing my response!

ApuskiMcClusky · 13/01/2012 13:28

I should say that I had about a 40% success rate with my sales orders - so things I'm keeping include Goldsign skinny cord jeans, Jaeger olive loose knit jumper, two fab silk tops and a camel cashmere jumper from Zara, and lots of basics tops from Great Plains. Sorry I can't link! (see ^)

I quite like the way WIT has styled her pink trousers with navy. Am pondering wardrobe possibilities!

I hate doing returns too.

NYE I thought I was done with the sales but you've got me looking at IO! I find their stuff quite hit and miss quality wise but can heartily recommend the Breton dress. I've had the maternity version, have worn it a million times and it still looks as good as new. Tempted to get the non bump version now.

Just heading into town on a sunny afternoon for returns to whistles and Zara, to try on cream roxy and to meet DH for early evening drinks. Wearing black IO ruched dress , opaques, boots and my huge fur collared parka type coat. Glam but cosy!

notyummy · 13/01/2012 14:05

Apuski- was it the v neck camel cashmere from Zara? I was eyeing that ip the other day, but they only had cream left. Bargain!

MidnightinMoscow · 13/01/2012 14:10

Now I am tempted by the IO breton dress instead of the Boden one. Too confusing!

Sounds like a very glam outfit Blue, how lovely to be meeting DH for drinks. We are of to Sainbo's before picking up DS from nursery, not quite as exciting!

Not setting the world alight with my outfit today - olive houlis, charcoal cashmere v- neck, charcoal metallic leopard high tops and black leather jacket. Wearing red McQueen scarf for much needed colour pop! Similarly exciting afternoon to MiM with a trip to the supermarche. Did spend yesterday swanning around having a nice lunch with DH then browsing in Knightsbridge, while my parents provided free childcare so mustn't grumble too much!

Ooh must check out WIT!

AmberNectarine · 13/01/2012 14:46

Saw that jumper IRL yday annie, I liked but they only had 16 left.

AmberNectarine · 13/01/2012 14:49

Tried on coated houlis when I was pg and saw them reduced to £30 in selfridges summer sale NY. Seem to remember them being large fitting, as a 30 was too big even on my 12st heavily pregnant self (I could just about squeeze into, but not do up my 30 Agnes)

AmberNectarine · 13/01/2012 14:54

When you says nude annie do you mean tights or bare. I only ask because I am freezing! You know what, I do think I'll get a lot of wear from them, they are a nice colour for S/S and this morning I threw on a loose fitting vest with them and liked the look. Would be nice with gladiators and my battered denim jacket I think.
