We are doing Museums tomorrow. There is not a lot of enthusiasm. I thought they would enjoy the Fashion Museum.

I am drinking a delicious "Primeur". Sod Beaujolais Nouveau, this is the dog's bollocks, and a lot cheaper.

Herbs, why don't you just get yourself a pair of DMs? Go on, you know you want to. Grin

bigTillyMint · 26/10/2011 19:45

ruby,
a) how long has the day with GM been arranged for?
b) how often does he see GM?
c) how old is he?

WE just had a couple of days at the out-laws which was surprisingly relaxing, especially as DS kept begging DH and me to go out and leave them with Nanny and GrandadGrin
And a lovely lunch/walk with my cousin and his family who we haven't seen in aaaaaaaaaaages.

The only downside was DH taking a pathetically badly thought-out route back into London which meant we were stuck in the car for way too long and obviously involved the customary bickering between the DC and shouting - from DH, not me this time

Well, in that situation I would say let him meet his mates, but he has to ring and let her know/apologise. And definitely make the next meet-up!
a) Your faultGrin
b) He sees her regularly - would be different if only every 6 weeks
c) He is at that difficult age when visiting your aged rellies is not that appealing compared to hanging out with your mates. When does this stage last?Blush!

Herbs, what do you want to tuck in?

bigTillyMint · 26/10/2011 20:23

Herbs, MN swears at by these Smile

Stropperella · 26/10/2011 21:32

Hello hags! Just checking in from the Black Forest. I'm recovering from a surfeit of the eponymous gateau (helped by a few glasses of local vinous produce). I bought some v. lovely boots yesterday, but can't find a link that doesn't make them look a wee bit mum-bootish, which is causing me to sweat a bit.
Had lunch on a lovely sunny restaurant terrace overlooking the Rhine today. France is just on the other side of the river, but we were too lazy (read: full of beer) to go there Shock.

CointreauVersial · 26/10/2011 21:45

Wow, Strops, it all sounds rather lovely. Especially the word "sunny", as that's certainly not a word that's been used much in the UK this week.

We are enjoying child-free night No2, but after our exhausting day of retail and culture yesterday we are slumped on the sofa watching David Attenborough. DS1 has just phoned in, so at least we know our little darlings are not lying dead at the bottom of a zip-wire somewhere in deepest Surrey.

Now, here's my latest clothing crush - I'm in love with this gilet from Fat Face (in the purpley colour). It is sooooo heavy and cosy, lined with fluffyness. But it is a little ££, and I'm worried I'll look a bit "county mum" in it - be honest, hags!

bigTillyMint · 26/10/2011 21:50

Serious CV? We have had lovely weather in Banbury/TringSmile And what are you doing MNing on a child-free night?!
Definitely county-mum, but that's quite a popular look round our way in our corner of the smoke Grin What colour?

Weather bright but cold yesterday, but threatening rain today. Red dress arrived, a darker red than in picture, but still lush and has pockets, I lurve pockets. Why do so few women's clothes have pockets?
Anyone seen dukes recently - wondering about her mum.

herbaceous · 27/10/2011 12:23

HELP ME. I've been on the Hotter shoes website, and have thought... Hmm, they look comfy AND QUITE NICE.

Blackduck · 27/10/2011 12:56

Herbs, step away, mu mum wears Hotters and she is somewhat older than you and she only wears them because she now has crap feet ....... you have years in you before your need to visit Hotters.....

bigTillyMint · 27/10/2011 13:22

WTF are Hotters? They sound awful, Herbs. Don't do it!

Hotter boots that I thought half-way acceptable. I have now come to my senses.

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/10/2011 15:55

Herbs, those are not Mum boots. They're not even Gran boots. They are Great Gran with large bunions, ingrowing toenails, cracked heels and fallen arches boots. Step away. Now. Or I will put you on the mailing list for Saga Holidays and the Chums catalogue.

bigTillyMint · 27/10/2011 16:21

Grin Herbs, tut, tut!

Blackduck · 28/10/2011 07:06

Now I know you all needed a lie down in a darkened room to recover from herbs choice of boot (sorry herbs ) BUT we'd slipped onto page two!
I'm off ot tonight with work which should be interesting (first time so bit nervous). Still no movement on house front, though lots of viewings. Ds off to do last day at. Holiday club - he's had a ball! Happy Friday Hags
