Here we go..

Hi all
I am very Sad today. I've had my best friend from canada here all week with her husband and 6 month old, we've had the BEST time, and I will miss them so much. To make matters worse I am definitely a NO for the MU, our house is on the market and we have two inconveniently timed viewings tomorrow so I am going to have to get things ready, and I just found out I will need to be away for work part of next week so i can't really justify leaving the DCs. I am gutted because I REALLY wanted to meet you all before I left for Australia at the end of November. I hope we can do another one before then, even if it is a mini.

notyummy · 07/10/2011 13:48

Thanks Amber.

Oh no Roary- that is such a shame as i would have loved to have met you.

Ladies who are staying at the same hotel as me - I am packing swimming and gym stuff so I can have a hangover busting bob around in the pool on Sunday morning. Feel free to join me!

pickledsiblings · 07/10/2011 14:35

am i staying at the same hotel as you ny [totally clueless emoticon]

roary, sorry you can't make it

ollie, i just knew you would cave and buy a new dress - i still want to see the gp one on you. i have been searching in vain for pjs this morning, it'll have to be the pale pink m and s ones i'm afraid Grin.

notyummy · 07/10/2011 14:41

Yes Pickled!

PORTIA4 · 07/10/2011 14:43

Extra 20% off on The Outnet this weekend! For those last minute MU purchasesWink

OllieinOrange · 07/10/2011 14:45

Great title Amber - I like it a lot!

Favour time - hate to be cheeky but does anyone coming to the MU have a spare ASOS returns address label I can have? They never send one with free postage when delivering overseas and it always costs a lot to send a parcel here. Just thought it was worth asking as I need to return a dress? Ta.

Roary thats such a shame. Hopefully you can squeeze in a MU before leaving?
NY I plan on eating the food equivalent of the price of the hotel room at breakfast so think I will decline you nice offer of a trip to the gym (Im actually smiling at the thought of trying to keep up with you in the gym tho - ha ha ha ha!). Maybe Icey or Pickled will keep you company tho???? Smile

Have confirmed numbers with the venue and we are all on one table - really pleased about that.

Annie does anyone have your mobile number so we can confirm where we will be late afternoon/early evening etc. PM if not?

pickledsiblings · 07/10/2011 14:50

ollie, pack your swimming costume just in case

OllieinOrange · 07/10/2011 14:55

Pickled I think I am bringing 3 dresses to put to the hotel-stayers vote! Im a lost cause really! (But love the new dress and it will be perfect for my 40th party - honest!)

redllamayellowllama · 07/10/2011 14:55

Thanks for the new thread Amber.

Ollie I think you should wear your new dress tomorrow, for sure.

Roary am very disappointed not to be meeting you tomorrow, Same goes for all the other ladies who can't make it. Big yes to squeezing in another MU before you head off.

Annie your new blouse is gorgeous and so glad your new jeans are working out for you!

Please someone wear Agnes' tomorrow - am desperate to see them on someone!

Have had a lovely morning in the park and lunch at our friend's house - they have a DD the same age as DS (DH and her husband were each other's best men) and they are polar opposites and we've always struggled to get them playing nicely together. But today, something just clicked and they were charging around, giggling, playing doctors, feeding each other lunch etc etc. Was such a relief and so lovely to see. My friend and I visibly relaxed and beamed at one another.

redllamayellowllama · 07/10/2011 14:56

Yay to being on one table, Ollie, good work.

polyhymnia · 07/10/2011 15:11

(pedant alert !!) Actually if you're female and plural you're 'avidae et prudentes' .

OllieinOrange · 07/10/2011 15:17

Have you all seen the forecast for the WE 13c on Saturday and 21 on Sunday.
Depending what coat I take will mean I either have to freeze on Saturday or have hot sweats on the Sunday!

notyummy · 07/10/2011 15:21

Weather means that we wear a coat on Saturday and carry it on Sunday I think!

rufus101 · 07/10/2011 15:37

Well spotted Poly. (Puella, puella, peullam etc loved Latin) Great title, I love it.
Ollie for post shopping guilt, I find that if you leave the purchase in the bag (do NOT be tempted to remove) for a minimum of 2 weeks it helps greatly. After this time, you will have re adjusted to the financial fall out, and will have come up with at least 3 reasons as to why it is essential. Well done you, as you have already come up with one - your birthday.
Verity, your poor mum. I spent a lot of time round there, as I trained in the Adelaide hospital. Spent many good evenings in the Swan, and Whelans of course!

Emo76 · 07/10/2011 16:04

Just wanted to say I am really looking forward to tomorrow, I hope I am not disappointing in real life. Sorry to miss you Roary - and any others who can't make it.

Going to a black tie do tonight for an orphanage charity - must remember waterproof mascara. my DH has refused to come along, he hates things like that and it's all people from my work. Hmm. Have this to try on in emergency delivery, but if it doesn't work will be wise and wear something old and trustworthy!

AmberNectarine · 07/10/2011 16:38

polyhymnia you are quite right, and I have a classics degree - the shame! Was not thinking in that context!!

OP posts:
IceCreamCastles · 07/10/2011 16:55

There I was feeling quite relaxed about outfits for the weekend and you go and mention swimming costumes NY Shock.

Sorry you can't make it roary. Annie's clothes swap sounds like a good plan.

Rufus- I use that trick to ease shopping guilt- v effective!

Love the title Amber- perhaps mn will change it if you beg them?!

Nothing special in the pyjamas dept from me either pickled. M&s sounds fine.

Is anyone else staying at the hotel?

polyhymnia · 07/10/2011 17:37

Snap, Amber - I too have a Classics degree. But, many years later, I also spend most days working in Latin - weird but true!

Hope you all have a great time.

Valete.

MarshaBrady · 07/10/2011 17:39

Roary what a shame. Yes to doing a mini meet up before you go to Aus.

AmberNectarine · 07/10/2011 17:48

Ah now I hang around the house eating chocolate biscuits and watching Thomas with the kids work in marketing normally so not much call for it these days.

OP posts:
notyummy · 07/10/2011 17:53

Icecream - a little swim usually a relaxing experience for pregnant ladies, no? Did NOT mean to make you hyperventilate Grin

blossoming · 07/10/2011 18:10

I am intrigued polyhymnia. What do you do? Do you teach?
I remember a few months ago it came out a lot of us, including me, had studied Latin.
Thanks for the new title amber.
roary, I am so disappointed! We must do MU via videoconferencing when you move to Aus!

Finally, I have news. I have found my 'forever coat'. The Aigle is to die for.

Back later with a MU related crisis no doubt.

polyhymnia · 07/10/2011 18:16

Am doing a PhD in history and also helping translate medieval Latin books!
