Here we go..

OP posts:

It all sounds very tricky. Red, probably primary school though don't even know how many jobs there actually are so need to check that out first. Also it is £10,000 in fees before I even start. Maybe I should stick to what I did before and worry about holiday time when I am closer to working again.

My friend has that Ikea cabinet, it's very nice. We have no hall, the front door opens straight into the sitting room!

OllieinOrange · 07/11/2011 12:25

Can we see pics of the DH's please? Smile Good on them for doing it.
Bet your face on seeing DH was a picture Emo! Lovely about your WE away.

Red what great coat racks, v stylish. This is the ikea storage unit which comes in white or red metal - maybe the red would compliment your link? The white is a slightly off white imo - v nice. Ive managed to stash a lot more shoes in it than I thought I would. Shame about the bike helmets and rucksacks sitting on top of it.

Red, belated happy birthday to your DS.

Emo76 · 07/11/2011 12:47

he is going for the trucker look...

pickledsiblings · 07/11/2011 13:44

Emo GrinGrinGrin. Welcome back btw!

redllamayellowllama · 07/11/2011 13:52

Emo Grin. DH has one of those pages, but no pictures. Will get him to update and post forthwith.

Thanks for that Ollie I think the red would work perfectly with the coat hook and fits in nicely with DH's industrial aesthetic. Brilliant.

Carciofi, I wouldn't write it off just yet. Why not try and get a couple of days 'work experience' lined up towards the end of the summer? That would definitely give you an idea of if it's right for you. There are always teaching jobs available, although things seem a bit suppressed now (have been job-hunting but this isn't the right time of year to do it anyway). Thanks for DS' birthday wishes.

Just re-read my opening sentence - have just finished watching Downton, does it show?!

notyummy · 07/11/2011 14:03

Ooh yes - happy birthday to your DS Red. Glad you had a nice weekend.

Emo - I think you should get a red coat, but remembering the reaction to your red dress at the meet-up, you should possibly be wary of going out in said coat unescorted Wink.

Just quickly,

animal

Neither?

For day with skirt. I know what I should really get, but need to check.

blossoming · 07/11/2011 17:54

Hi everyone. Great shoes marsha!

Remind me not to show that website to my DH emo. There is a photo of his father with massive handlebar moustache. Well done to your DH though. Glad you had a good time.

Yes to teacher training carciofi. I know it's not for everyone, but you all know how much I love it.

Sounds like a great weekend redllama. Belated happy birthday. Is there video footage?

Great post notyummy.

Thanks annie. Wore the navy Whistles pinstripe pencil skirt today with damson cardigan buttoned up bar the top two. Was minus 4 so had to wear shiny boots. I can get away with that in my job though. Liked it on the video screen, but realised I needed a different bra to complete the Joan look.

FritziGreenEyes · 07/11/2011 18:58

rufus I know! Have loved those boots ever since you linked to them for the first time. Wore them today and had to look in every mirror to admire myself (hopefully without anybody noticing my vain behaviour!) Smile

Have been horrible Mummy today because I got a tad impatient with DD after she couldn't find her new red coat and cardi at pick up. Have been spending ages looking for lost school stuff. We searched the whole school so someone must have taken it home with them Hmm. Made up quickly with apology + icecream + reading many many stories. Blush

bloss Party is on Sat! Book a last-minute flight? Wink

I am wondering how verity is getting on... Has anyone heard anything?

Growing a moustache for charity is, err, interesting... Will they have to do it all of November!?

Love all the coat/shoe storage ideas. We had a huge cupboard built in, which takes all our stuff + hoover but also looks a bit boring. ollie How about some hooks to hang bike helmets? My friend has put up four of those small picture frames with hook attached from IKEA (sorry can't find link). Each frame has a picture of one family member with their bike helmet on. The children love it and everyone knows where to put their helmet!

carciofi Thinking about going back to work is both daunting and exciting! Job experience might be a good idea before you throw yourself into teaching I think.

marsha Get both pairs?

Sounds like little red had a blast on his birthday!

emo Agree that red is a fantastic colour for you! I am tempted to get rid of three things in my wardrobe I bought recently and haven't worn yet because I don't really love them

redllamayellowllama · 07/11/2011 19:18

Unfortunately no footage Bloss, shame as was real you've been framed stuff. I clung to the bale, rolled over it and got stuck underneath possibly in a cowpat. The men had to come and rescue me as I was so stuck/laughing so much, I couldn't move. Your outfit today sounds smoking.

Sounds like you made things up to DD Fritzi - pick-up is horrible. I had to wrestle DS' coat from a screaming toddler today who was convinced it was his. Have you finalised your party outfit (apologies if I've missed this and you have). I love your and Rufus' boots.

Can you all humour me in answering: Were you to be given £250 to spend solely on yourself, what would you buy?

FritziGreenEyes · 07/11/2011 19:30

red I will be recycling sequin dress from spring meet-up for my party. Would send you to Whistles with your spending money Wink

carciofi · 07/11/2011 19:35

Red, I'd head straight to Whistles and blow it there. Or I would get a red coat or fab boots.

Marsha, I prefer the animal print.

My brother grew a moustache last movember, I have a great photo of him with a handlebar moustache holding his baby boy, who wore a fake moustache.

Lovely outfit, Bloss.

I did teach years ago, just for two months, and liked it but would need to start teacher training by next September if I am going to do it. I will have to think it over some more or we could do what Annie and NY do and take turns in the school holidays. I have another year off at least with the baby but need to start making plans, I think.

Fritzi, ebay them!

redllamayellowllama · 07/11/2011 19:36

Sounds perfect.

Now that's what I thought Fritzi, but I'm not sure I need any clothes at the moment (I know!).
