Bare Escentuals: THE DEVIL'S OWN WORK

JodieHarsh · 25/09/2011 17:16

I must post about this. I have just spunked nearly ninety quid on some Bare Escentuals starter kit things.

I arrived at the counter in Stratford Westfield with a hideous bright red, sore, scarred, spotty, sweaty face, and some WITCH managed to take a decade off me with POWDER. Just powder! I mean - WT actual F?! A tube ride and a 20 minute walk home and it's still there. SURELY that's not right. I've used all sorts of super-max coverage matte stuff and it didn't cover ANYTHING like this well. O and I have the glowing rosy cheeks of a teen Shock

I promise I've not been giver a tenner to post this stuff. It's just I've spent so much I feel slightly sick. Does anyone else use this stuff? it's not going to last is it. i'm an idiot. What have I done

I don't use primer, but I also don't have open pores. Just veins sigh

JodieHarsh · 05/10/2011 19:45

pardon ?

The bisque is great Jodie - I know it looks alarming in the pot but somehow it disappears and blends seamlessly into your skin

(I have just realised I've written 'blends seamlessly' in an article I'm writing - I have BE on the brain :o)

Silver66 · 05/10/2011 19:45

sadly Josie - I have craterous pores on my nose Sad

can I nip to Boots tomorrow and get any primer???

I am going to have to get up half an hour earlier tomorrow to do the real test in

DAY LIGHT Shock

I am still waiting for my starter kit form lookfantasticbutinourowntime.com

aaargh am itching to have a buff

OhThisIsJustGrape · 05/10/2011 21:01

I have a question... What is the difference between the bisque and the concealer? Or if there is a difference at all? I ordered the trial kit and it came with a teeny pot of concealer but it is labelled as exactly that - 'concealer'. Is the bisque a separate product or one and the same?

OhThisIsJustGrape · 05/10/2011 21:03

Look Fantastic are rather s-l-o-w imo, I ordered on the Monday and it arrived on the Friday.

However, I ordered the free sample pot yesterday from elsewhere and it arrived today :)

JodieHarsh · 05/10/2011 21:04

RIGHT

Have done full face, look amaze amaze, have best eyemakeup ever EVER. The mascara is extremely good, and I speak as a natural dirty blonde with fair eyelashes who prolly buys a different mascara every month in a desperate quest for the PERFECT ONE

Anyway.

Surayu, would you like my 'Warmth'? It simply isn't for me. I have used it, but only the tiniest bit, so it's practically new :)

Two more things up for grabs:

A tiny sample of the definition mascara (honestly, it is the bidnit, so if you are thinking of getting the mazzy then let me know)

AND

A full-size tube of lip gloss. It is very, very good - it's a lip plumper so it makes your lips swell and tingle a bit, and quite apricoty and iridescent but sheer (if that makes sense). It's lovely but because I have a massive mouth, and favour a darker lip colour, and uh ALREADY NOW HAVE TWO BE LIP GLOSSES Grin I think it could go to a better home. However I used it once. So if you are a bit worried about That Sort Of Thing you won't want it. Disclaimer: I am as pure as the driven snow.

First come first served for the mazzy and lip gloss, and PM me your name and address.

OhThisIsJustGrape · 05/10/2011 21:10

If Surayu passes on the warmth could I pleeeeease be next in line? :)

JodieHarsh · 05/10/2011 21:12

Course you can Grape, consider yourself No2! (not in the poo way)

Lip gloss gone, so the mascara's left...

MadamTwoSwords · 05/10/2011 21:17

Sarayu you can have my warmth if you'd like it? It makes me a bit oompa Loompa ish.

And thanks to Hester for the bisque. I will test out in the morning.

Well done Jodie Smile

MadamTwoSwords · 05/10/2011 21:18

grape if saruya has jodie you can have mine

JodieHarsh · 05/10/2011 21:19

Ooo Ooo does that mean there are 2 Warmths going spare? Cos if so that's one for Sarayu and one for Grape, no?

I am really pleased with the bisque. It looks dead scary but makes me realise that in the past I have essentially highlighted my spots by painting them bright white Grin

OP posts:
MadamTwoSwords · 05/10/2011 21:19

I wouldn't mind your gloss Jodie If still going? Am on phone so cant pm at minute

JodieHarsh · 05/10/2011 21:20

OP posts:
JodieHarsh · 05/10/2011 21:20

Tis gone Madam, sorry..... but there's still the mazzy, which is well worth a try....

OP posts:
MadamTwoSwords · 05/10/2011 21:21

Yep two warmth going so if grape and Sarayu decide amongst themselves and pm me I'll post in the morning Smile

MadamTwoSwords · 05/10/2011 21:23

No worries, I'll pass on the mazzy ta,, have sensitive eyes and end up panda with most brands! Smile

JodieHarsh · 05/10/2011 21:24

Me too - great stuff!

I am now off to bed as I have had a long, hard day MNing about makeup being vair, vair busy and important.

To recap: there is a test mascara going, unused, PM me if you want to try it....(someone upthread mentioned a BE mascara and if that person wants it they get it first Grin )

OP posts:
JodieHarsh · 05/10/2011 21:24

D'oh, me too to posting off the Warmth :)

OP posts:
hester · 05/10/2011 21:28

Jodie, that is a RESULT. Well done you!

[Whispers: am I the only one here who is rather charmed by Jodie's dp? I love the idea of him squealing over her box of slap Grin ]

OhThisIsJustGrape · 05/10/2011 21:29

OhThisIsJustGrape · 05/10/2011 21:30

MadamTwoSwords · 05/10/2011 21:35

Am on iPod at minute grape so cant see PMs but I'll take it into work tomorrow and post from there Smile

Mendeleyev · 05/10/2011 21:38

Question - I have vitiligo which is where you have Patches of skin that lose pigment. I can't wear normal foundation as the White patches look orange :-(
Do you think this marvellous sounding make up would cover it up? The White bits aren't super noticeable but I'm too old to go without any make up. At the moment I'm using a camouflage foundation on prescription but it's a bit orange.
