Bare Escentuals: THE DEVIL'S OWN WORK

1028 replies

JodieHarsh · 25/09/2011 17:16

I must post about this. I have just spunked nearly ninety quid on some Bare Escentuals starter kit things.

I arrived at the counter in Stratford Westfield with a hideous bright red, sore, scarred, spotty, sweaty face, and some WITCH managed to take a decade off me with POWDER. Just powder! I mean - WT actual F?! A tube ride and a 20 minute walk home and it's still there. SURELY that's not right. I've used all sorts of super-max coverage matte stuff and it didn't cover ANYTHING like this well. O and I have the glowing rosy cheeks of a teen Shock

I promise I've not been giver a tenner to post this stuff. It's just I've spent so much I feel slightly sick. Does anyone else use this stuff? it's not going to last is it. i'm an idiot. What have I done

OP posts:

Haha all the new recruits in one night. brilliant :o lookfantastic is a brilliant place.

I have ordered a tiiiiiiny pot of warmth to try it out. It only comes in one ccolour i notice? I am quite pale sso will have tto use iit sparingly. got it from ebay. a woman tthat also sent me one of ttheir bbrushes in record time! got a concealor brush for 5 qquid inc p aand p! Will havhave to ffind the shop name aand put it here. not susure why my phone is ddoubling letters bbut cant be bothered to fix it sorry!

MmeLindor. · 29/09/2011 09:29

Do I need the Primer and Warmth doodah then?

meltedchocolate · 29/09/2011 09:34

I hhave never used primer and dont understand what it is for. i just moisturise. i am just testing warmth but dont think it is needed.

CristinadellaPizza · 29/09/2011 09:37

Ooh I love my primer - it takes off shine and fills in pores and lines. That was something that made a friend ask why I looked younger so I shall be unrecognisable with this malarkey.

I normally only wear tinted moisturiser so am slightly worried I will look too made up

JodieSwirlTapBuff · 29/09/2011 09:37

I use the primer. I think I have invested the entire routine with a sort of magic ritual quality and am afraid to deviate from it, in case my sudden beauty vanishes in a puff of desperation and Mineral Veil Grin

MmeLindor. · 29/09/2011 09:39

Ok, will go for the primer as well.

Do you use blusher then, or is that the Warmth stuff?

Snapespeare · 29/09/2011 09:40

am seriously considering not going to gym/yoga class at lunchtime and heading over to Johnny LouLous to be beautified (& 10% off today!)

valiumredhead · 29/09/2011 09:43

I liked the primer but only re ordered once - can't really see it's made that much difference without it tbh.

GO EASY ON THE WARMTH - it's not really a blusher, more of a face shaping product iykwim!

Do a number 3 at the sides of your face - starting above your eyebrow, round to your cheekbone, out again and finish up under your chin. Personally I don't use it, it always feels grubby on me.

JodieSwirlTapBuff · 29/09/2011 09:44

Mme I use the blusher and not the Warmth, because I favour the rosy look and not the sculpted bronze look. I have very blue eyes, very pale skin and fair hair, and I want makeup to make my face the bset my face can be, not turn it into someone else's IYSWIM....

DO IT SNAPES and report back!
valiumredhead · 29/09/2011 09:45

This is SO exciting! Grin

JodieSwirlTapBuff · 29/09/2011 09:47

Valium if you only knew what I should be doing instead of practising swirltaptaptapbuffbuffbuffbuffbuffBEAUTIFULBEAUTIFUL Grin Blush

Dillydollydaydream · 29/09/2011 09:50

Ooh ordered my started kit from Feelunique?
House of Fraser have the kits reduced but not in light unfortunately, was gutted!

Has anyone used the cheek, lip and eye kit and is it any good? Was thinking of ordering that too.

JodieSwirlTapBuff · 29/09/2011 09:53

YES I HAVE THE CHEEL LIP AND EYE KIT and it is amazing too. I have never been able to do proper shaded eye makeup, and never really bother anyway because it all just slides off and ends up udner my eyes making me look like I died the night before. Not this stuff, mateys! Oh, to think of all the moeny wasted on shitty old Benefit...

valiumredhead · 29/09/2011 09:55

Oh Benefit is utter crap!! The last concealor I bough which was meant to be heavy duty lasted all of 20 minutes!

Dillydollydaydream · 29/09/2011 09:56

Oooh. Sounds good! Might just have to get me one of those too.

meltedchocolate · 29/09/2011 09:59

We all do valium :o may invest in eye stuff later but to be honest I prefer the sculpted look. I have proper cheekbones and jaw line so think it looks better on me than lots of eye makeup. Normally I would put a tiny bit of eyeliner on and a small amount of mascara. Now with my perfect skin I expect a model scout will grab me any day :o deluded

valiumredhead · 29/09/2011 10:01
Envy
OhThisIsJustGrape · 29/09/2011 10:10

I ordered mine from Lookfantastic and hoping it will be here today! I need a hefty miracle when it comes to making my skin look beauuuutiful but I have high expectations of BE - it's not going to let me down is it?

MissIngaFewmarbles · 29/09/2011 10:10

Oh god, I am actually considering heading into town with my toddler in tow to get a look of this stuff Blush Jodie you are evil Grin

JodieSwirlTapBuff · 29/09/2011 10:11

valium I had this gunk-in-a-pot called Erase Paste, which went on like cement, so it covered the spot but in a great white lump of gook. I might as well have painted on flourescent arrows painting to every bloomin' zit Hmm

MmeLindor. · 29/09/2011 10:12

test

cleoismycat · 29/09/2011 10:12

MmeLindor. · 29/09/2011 10:13

JodieSwirlTapBuff · 29/09/2011 10:13
