New thread here!

florenceuk - I bought the scarf in lagoon and a lovely v-neck cardy in lizard (a limey green). Which one did you go for?

roary · 21/06/2011 14:40

Wow, Petit what a fun day!

nan poor you - try not to be so hard on yourself.

NY you always sound like such an ace at putting outfits together...as does bloss, I love the permutations of your interview wardrobe!

Well, since last Thurs I have had a cocktail party at DH's work (J.Crew dress); naming ceremony for the DCs (Bloss maxi, Boden glads, Boden leather jacket because it was freeeeeezing); benefit dinner (chocolate brown silk dress from Australia, a few years old and, ahem, a bit tighter than I remembered); and will have 1 more quasi-black tie dinner (Bloss maxi again with patent sandals). I am also supposed to be working. Ha.

I am plotting my Saks trip (squeeee) and need to let the shopper lady which brands I am interested in....any good ideas ladies? I am also putting a more recent pic up of the JCrew dress - this was the pic I was wondering what to wear to in April! That dress was a great buy.

Ambernj1 · 21/06/2011 15:22

Hello all,

haven't posted before but have been lurking avidly... Feel I must post today after a very successful trip into big London - haul as follows:

J Brand Agnes in worn onyx (£95 in selfridges! Wanted sharkskin but didn't have my size, they also had Agnes and Houlis in Stealth, which is the shiny waxed look for £50 if anyone fancies them!)

Mulberry Tillie all in one clutch type thing and Mulberry tiger print coin purse

Leopard print Equipment silk shirt (£30 in Selfridges!!)

Maje snake print scarf

Has definitely cheered me up as am 38+3 with DC2 and v uncomfortable! Also hoping all the walking will get things going...

Apologies for crashing and lack of links (silly iPhone) but felt the W&A ladies would be able to share in my joy better than DH, who is in Barcelona anyway!

petitdonkey · 21/06/2011 15:24

Roary - what a gorgeous photo!! I love your dress, what a great shape. I also love your DD's Boden - I tried to get that for my eldest but it was out of stock for ages.

WAN - I am still waiting for my Ash boots and now worrying that they will be too big...

Bloss - you are SO organised!! I'd be standing in front of my wardrobe in interview day thinking 'pants...'!! As for anyone thinking you might be pregnant, OMG, there is no hope for me!

Dolcee - that jacket definitely comes under the banner of 'heirloom piece'!

I went for it and ordered the black Agnes from NAP. On Thursday I am going to try and edit my wardrobe. I think that I can get rid of loads then rotate the three pairs of JBrand, a couple of pairs of jeans and dresses etc. I really want to put together some great outfits and then feel a bit less flustered on what to wear each day.

Am now on the official hunt for a leather jacket but don't think I can order online as I'll only have a returns faff if it's not perfect. I'm sure NAP make returns difficult on purpose.

petitdonkey · 21/06/2011 15:26

Oooh Amber - I saw those Equipment shirts but they only had small or x-small. Well done, lovely and a total bargain! Can't believe you were buying Agnes at 38+3 - respect!!

roary · 21/06/2011 15:32

Stop press was just about to link my fave J.Crew dress for anyone making a US trip in the summer and saw it was in some fab new colours.

Am totally ordering in red. Swoon. Am sending to SIL now.

MarshaBrady · 21/06/2011 16:30

Hello, thank you for get well wishes! Ill for only one day in the end. Thank goodness. I was wiped out!

Am submerged in F&B world as re-doing all walls. Am rather excited Grin

Will come back when don't have a little boy climbing on me to read.

blossoming · 21/06/2011 16:47

Hi ambernj1. Welcome! Great shopping!
petit, I love a good wardrobe sortout. Take photos of you on different outfits and then decide what stays.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 21/06/2011 17:04

Amber great shopping!

Ambernj1 · 21/06/2011 17:19

Thanks ladies! Hopefully I got the right size Agnes - can just do them up under the bump if I breathe in very hard!

And after all that DH emails me and tells me he has got a pay rise. If I'd have known I'd have spent more, tsk!

blossoming · 21/06/2011 17:32

roary, gorgeous photo. Really lovely dress.

florenceuk · 21/06/2011 17:49

Jigsaw sale starts tomorrow (that's early isn't it). Dexter, am still dithering over scarf but DH tells me his business is doing well...

Also I really really want a leather jacket - this Reiss one appeals:

but worried about long arms IME reiss cut for tall amazon types

carciofi · 21/06/2011 17:59

Nice work, Amber!
Good luck tomorrow, Bloss, and well done Rufus.
Laptop broken so can't look at links, have sent DH out to buy a new one.
Thanks Nan and sorry you had a hard time. I have done many silly wine-induced things in my past!
DD1 seems to have accepted her new sister and is happy that it is just us again.
RG, I put on 2 stone as well and now have only 5lb to lose, you will be slim again soon.
Had to take the baby to the hospital for her hearing screening and went to Westfield on the way home. She behaved impeccably! I got a blacked quilted Weekend Maxmara coat for winter and MIH cropped jeans. Also had a look in Mulberry, they will be doing the Bayswater bag in a gorgeous conker colour so going to return the AH bag whenever it turns up (apparently it is out for delivery today) and wait for the Bays. For an £11 delivery charge, AH are slooooow to deliver. Tried the local Question Air on the way home for black Jalouse boots but they are sold out.
Petit, sounds like a great day!

cardoon · 21/06/2011 18:16

Sorry to butt in - but could I just ask wan and petit which colour of jalouse they're going for?

Have started a thread but Sad no response as yet

redllamayellowllama · 21/06/2011 19:28

Roary you look stunning in the dress, completely knockout. And how gorgeous are your family? Will you be re-ordering in red only?!

Outfits sound perfect Bloss. I admire your organisation and poise in these situations. Good luck for the lesson tomorrow.

Amber that's some haul at 38 weeks. V Envy of your Equipment bargain.

Carciofi good to hear DD1s adapted well to her sister. Love e sound of a chestnut Bays (see how down with the Mulberry I am now, I feel entitled to abbreviate ire bag names).

Petit I love a good wardrobe organise. I've had another trawl of mine and have bungee some more stuff on eBay. Beautiful, beautiful things that I love, but there is no point in things idly hanging there.

Dsis is here and is doing bedtime for both DCs. So nice.

redllamayellowllama · 21/06/2011 19:30

Sorry, and Cardoon I am waiting for the Stone Jalouse to arrive tomorrow. Praying they fit as by all accounts, they come up quite large and I want them at this price. Will let you know.

notyummy · 21/06/2011 19:46

carciofi - am amazed at you only having 5 lbs to go!

Roary - thanks for the compliment re the outfits, but I tend to only post when I am having an 'on' day and am feeling pleased with myself Grin Some days it is all too much effort and there are no meetings, so old black boot cut trousers and a plain top, with flats, are all I can muster.

cardoon · 21/06/2011 20:00

red, can I ask how much? and from where?

what size are you?

Emo76 · 21/06/2011 20:03

carciofi you have less weight to lose than me and my baby is 8 months old - THE SHAME! well done you, lovely to hear DD1 is doing well with baby sister.
nan i have been there - more than once - not easy, you are not alone.
petit what a fun day! Inspired purchasing of heirloom. I am going to shamelessly steal that term to use myself!
roary could I see your pics please?
amber hello hello! nice haul hello cardoon too, and other new posters.

am strangely tempted by smock like "Tucker" blouses in the sales - still v expensive though, anyone else own? Am being v lazy and not linking.

DH is out and I have found a bottle of rose in the fridge - slightly fizzy - lovely, just the one glass...AND THE SALES ARE ON....very unwise......but highly avid!

AntPants1 · 21/06/2011 20:06

Wow carciofi!!!!

roary can I see?

bloss interveiw outfit sounds fab. Very best of luck, not that you need it! Are you still planning to come to London in july? And are you still up for mini meet up? PM me if you are

Emo76 · 21/06/2011 20:07

I meant to say Bloss the best of luck for your interview too.

blossoming · 21/06/2011 20:07

Step away from the smock emo! Didn't you see my post?

Well done carciofi, on weight loss and baby westfield training!

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 21/06/2011 20:15

DH is out and I'm watching "Eat, Pray, Love". I am utterly bored and cannot remember why I liked the book when I read it. Hmm

Emo76 · 21/06/2011 20:26

bloss ah yes you have a point...plus DH hates smocks.....why do I like them so much then??!

I am watching Four Rooms - love it. Fritzi can you get Ch4?!

MrsCampbellBlack · 21/06/2011 20:28

Emo - I have tried on tucker smocks so many times as they're usually beautiful fabrics but the cut - oh dear.

Bloss - good luck tomorrow!
