Anyone ordered this from The White Co?

Quite fancy it in navy, with tan flat sandals, big bracelet and a denim jacket.

planestrainsautomobiles · 16/03/2011 21:12

If you order direct from People Tree they've got free P&P and also donating 10% to Japan Tsunami Appeal

trixymalixy · 17/03/2011 00:14

Carrie, I love those retro swim hats!!!

Bearcrumble · 17/03/2011 11:40

The blue/white stripy People Tree dress arrived this morning - it's lovely. Really soft cotton jersey and fits nicely without being either too baggy or too tight.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Now I just need the weather for it... will be taking it to Italy in May for sure.

I'm another individual who doesn't 'get' the concept of a school run dress. Confused Is it super-competitive then? What sort of school? And you refresh your make-up, gosh! Once a day application of make-up is enough for me.

hattymattie · 17/03/2011 16:03

Wallis dress arrived today - perfect fit and will dress up or down. Great tip thanks ladies.

dexter73 · 17/03/2011 16:11

I haven't done a school run for over 5 years now but here is my SR dress that arrived today - very flattering and not see-through!

lackaDaisy · 17/03/2011 16:18

I may have done myself a disfavour by recommending the People Tree dress so strongly. I now have a worrying feeling it will be all sold out by the time I can afford to order it Shock

It is lush though, isn't it? Grin

lackaDaisy · 17/03/2011 16:23

georgie, the way I understand is like this....imagine you're rushing in the morning trying to get everyone out of the house on time. You yourself have no real commitments after the school run (if there was, then obviously you'd dress for it...gym, work etc). You need a dress that you just pull out of the wardrobe, throw it over your head and head out the door knowing you look presentable.

Fast forward to pick-up time. You have been busy gardening, sun-bathing, doing housework, on MN which means you have your scruffy clothes on. Once again you need a dress that you pull on without much thought and head out the door.

That, in a long-winded way, is your school run dress.

Has anyone bought the White Company's jersey twist waist dress and is it any good? I am a lumpy size 14 - 16 and need a jersey dress that is quite heavy weight. I am also quite short waisted. Is this one very low cut? I find it hard to tell from the photos on the website as the models are always tall and slim.

bettybattleaxe · 19/03/2011 21:50

I like the people tree one but it has absolutely no elastane/lycra in it. Do you think it'll lose it's shape?

BelligerentGhoul · 19/03/2011 22:22

Dexter i like that Phase Eight one. can I ask what sort of size/shape you are? Do you need to be tall and straight up and down for it?

cornsilk678 · 20/03/2011 10:45

I've got the White Company jersey twist waist dress. I think it's a bit £££ for what it is but I used a code. Will be good for hols. It's not very low cut I don't think.

MrsSeanBean · 20/03/2011 12:34

Ooh cornsilk - do you mean this one? - my finger is just hovering over the 'checkout' button. However, I am a bit puzzled by the colours - no idea what 'veneer' is. Dark charcoal marl looks quite dark (almost black, which would be fine) - did you see them in RL?

cornsilk678 · 20/03/2011 12:41

yes that's the one MrsSeanBean! I got the veneer (I think) 'cos it was the only one left in my size. It's a brown colour - is nice. Also had no idea what veneer was!

MrsSeanBean · 20/03/2011 12:45

Thanks! I also have a code :)

Am also pondering these in 'putty'.

cornsilk678 · 20/03/2011 12:49

oooh they look nice! I love White Company stuff. They're not good with returns though so I order with care.

withagoat · 20/03/2011 12:54

corny isnt it a bit titty
