New thread..

OP posts:
ItsNotUnusual · 04/02/2011 23:07

Apologies to wannabe blossoming spotters. My husband appears to have bogged the camera on the htv news. He'd be the awkward but grinning fool by the bar with the stripey scarf my mother bought ( and is likely to be lost) and fluffy hair. Has anyone ever considered starting a W&A equivant thread for men? Or are the men in your life as well heeled as you guys?

monkeysmama · 04/02/2011 23:37

Esher, hello! I missed you. Made me smile but I bought the Lolas last summer and the bits fell off, reordered twice and happened again and again. I also had the Bertie flamingos but they were too baggy on the foot. How funny you linked to them two. Anyway, the Edelmans look lovely. Might order tomorrow.

I feel almost spooked Red. We know the outdoor Steiner in the woods well.

Bloss hope you had fun.

Zembo hope you have a tranquil night.

Night all.

monkeysmama · 04/02/2011 23:49

Forgot to ask Esher did you see the tan braided Lottas? What do you think?

Emo76 · 05/02/2011 07:05

I often see MiH jeans mentioned on here - the outnet has these and these today with an extra 40% off. Bargain!

Not sure about the wash of the denim and I'm too big for them but I though someone else might be hunting for them.

OllieWollieWoo · 05/02/2011 08:42

Morning
Zembo - hope you had a good nights rest at home and plan to spend today curled up on the sofa with lots of magazines and a good book.
Emo76 - fab dress, you will look and feel great.
Bonsoir - sorry to read about your MOL. Your outfit yesterday sounded really stylish.

Had great meal last night - lots of Vietnamese dishes to share, yum (and a couple of mojitos Wine)
Friend raved about her new Breton purchase from New Look of all places - red striped one here, the blue one looks nice too.

More house talk - have seen a house for sale in the neighbouring suburb which ticks all the boxes in terms of what we would want from our next house (had no plans to move for a few years tho but this one is fab and needs v little work) Would like DH to view it esp has it has an extension/garden room which is what I would like for this house so he can see what I've been banging on about! He has real trouble visulising new things!

Bonsoir · 05/02/2011 08:47

Hi OWW (and anyone else who is already up - Fritzi, Roman? That continental hour advantage Wink).

I woke up at the crack of dawn with period pain. Grrrr. But have put it to good use - cooking, present wrapping and card writing, email answering. DD is up and practising Mamma Mia in front of the TV (especially that well known hit Mummy Mummy Mummy - I cannot bear it that she will soon know otherwise) but the male contingent of the family hasn't emerged yet. Ho hum.

I think it is time for us to move, OWW. But DP finds that quite difficult - he's very French and is used to the concept of living in the same place all your life. Intellectually he understands why that's a bad idea, but he doesn't do anything about moving, so I have to be the motor. And my motor for family projects is quite tired right now!

Zembo · 05/02/2011 08:49

Morning ladies! (slightly later than usual for me, surely a good sign Smile)

I had a much better nights sleep at home and it really does feel better to be here.

Please could someone link to these Lottas?

Interesting chit chat re: Bristol, I'm not taking any of it in but that's where my DH is going to apply next.

Hoping to have lots of time with computer + credit card coming up soon. DH is being truly wonderful.

Reine I will be sending you a PM re: my teeth situation. I'm more upset about that than anything else right now -it really affects the way I look and I don't like what I can see at the moment! I do know a few denitists, but don't see them regularly so hope you don't mind.

I didn't know I was pregnant with the ectopic so haven't felt emotional about a second pregnancy loss at all (yet) - although I know hormones will still be raging and there's time for that yet. I must have been pretty fertile for my age. Sadly no more due to loss of one of my tubes (and the other one not looking too healthy either), but DH saying all the right kind of things re: trying again sometime in the future. Like you Vin my early reaction to all this only makes me realise what it is that I truly want (a 3rd bambino) even more - although don't feel any immediate need thank goodness as quite a bit of recovery to do first. Thanks for listening to the waffle Smile

carciofi · 05/02/2011 08:50

Lacksadaisy, you are probably far more graceful than I am. I am tall anyway so will stick to heels for my rare nights out!

Bloss, hope you had a good night despite the result.

Thinking of getting this IO t shirt dress, is it a bit blah for the price? They are so slow to deliver. I ordered some maternity clothes last week and still no sign.

carciofi · 05/02/2011 08:53

Zembo, glad you got a good night's sleep.

OWW, nice top. I love Vietnamese food. Yes, Bonsoir, forgot to say, sorry about your MOL. How is she now?

I want to move too, I saw the perfect house in Dublin but we need to stay here for another couple of years.

notyummy · 05/02/2011 09:06

Hi ladies. No chance to catch up properly, as I will explain, however delighted to ser that Zembo is back home.

Poor dd is really ill. I took to her to the docs on Thursday with this vomiting thing as her temp was so high and they said a virus- just give usual child meds and lots of fluids. She picked up a bit but went back downhill Thursday night and I nearly took her to A and E at 4am before deciding against it. Took her back to the docs yesterday morning and the Gp took one look and ordered an ambulance. She is currently in the childrens ward with suspected pneumonia and pleurisy. When the pain relief is working she is ok, but as it wears off she gets very distressed. She was v brave for all the tests and having the lines inserted though. Dh arrived at the Hosp at 1am last night after a trains, planes and automobiles dash back from foreign climes. He stayed there last night (he insisted!) and I let him as I have had pretty much no sleep for the past couple of days. We will swap later!

PlumSykes · 05/02/2011 09:16

Oh God, notyummy, how scary! So glad you got her there, and didn't just keep thinking 'it's just a virus, she'll be fine'. Big love xx

pickledsiblings · 05/02/2011 09:19

Oh NY, poor DD and poor you Sad. So glad DH is there with you both. I wish DD a speedy recovery, what a brave little girl she is.

OllieWollieWoo · 05/02/2011 09:21

Notyummy - so sorry to read your post - how horrible for you all. Sending you lots of love and hope that DD starts to feel better very soon. She has always sounded such a strong and determined little girl that I'm sure this will help her in her recovery. Take care of yourself too tho. xxx

carciofi · 05/02/2011 09:25

NY, how scary, hope your DD gets well soon.

ReineDeSaba · 05/02/2011 09:51

NY well done for getting her there. What a strong character she is..tests and lines are grim even for adults.Glad Dh there for extra support..you must be so exhausted, physically and emotionally..sending you all hugs.xx

Zembo please do.I feel for you I really do.xx

ApuskiDusky · 05/02/2011 09:56

NY, oh poor you and poor DD, hope she's feeling better very soon.

TheAllNewOoooh · 05/02/2011 10:44

Notyummy that must have been terrifying for both of you. I hope you managed to get some decent sleep. Are they saying when she might be able to come home? Hopefully they will be able to blast it will full strength meds.

monkeysmama · 05/02/2011 10:50

NY hope dd is fighting fit again as soon as possible. That sounds traumatic. Hope you're all ok. Some of us are having a pretty shocking start to 2011 aren't we.

Bonsoir · 05/02/2011 10:57

How frightening and worrying for you, notyummy. Hope your DD feels better soon. Pneumonia and pleurisy are not nice at all.

MOL is still very unwell in hospital and DP is very silent and quiet. It's hard to distract him.

I, however, am unreasonably deliriously excited, as I have booked theatre tickets for us to see Keira Knightley and Elisabeth Moss in The Children's Hour next Saturday night! And cinema tickets for The King's Speech for tonight, too!

TheAllNewOoooh · 05/02/2011 11:02

Bonsoir I was sorry to hear about your MIL too. You are so impressive, make sure you make time for yourself Smile

TheAllNewOoooh · 05/02/2011 11:06

Funny x-post, glad to hear that you are fitting in some fun stuff. Envy of Children's Hour.

FritziGreenEyes · 05/02/2011 11:10

Notyummy have just read your bad news while we are waiting for our flight. Your poor DD and how brave she is. Must be terrible for you and DH to see her in so much pain. Hope she will get better soon!

Bonsoir sorry about your MOL. Hope you can have a rest on the sofa with hot water bottle.

loobylu3 · 05/02/2011 11:21

NY- how horrible for all of you and poor DD! Children can go downhill so fast it is frightening. Hopefully, she will improve quickly with the iv antibiotics. :)

notyummy · 05/02/2011 11:50

Thanks for your thoughts ladies. Dics have confirmed diagnosis this morning, however the meds seem to be working and they hope she can go home tomorrow or Monday.
