oooh The first pair of wedges is a bit too much for me. You'll probably get more wear from the Boden ones.

carciofi Love the Belstaffs but is the perforated leather weather proof? Hope DD was ok at school today.

Maybe we can all consider cake as our SIL in spirit Smile. Cake and my SIL couldn't are the most extreme opposites you can imagine.

tracey That dress for cake is gorgeous! Glad DS2 is getting on well at nursery. Can imagine how you must feel about DS1 not getting invited.

dolcee Well done on getting in the cleaners. That's another to do on my list.

Oh hells poor you, that is disgusting! Shock

llama Lovely present from your step-dad. When is your birthday? Couldn't you just ebay the Radley or would DH notice?

marsha We used to drive in London all the time. Had a little black Panda and it was great fun! Never got tickets for speeding / illegal parking as we still had German numberplate Grin Except that one time when we parked in a residents only parking space and got towed. The fine was horrendous!

FritziGreenEyes · 14/01/2011 17:12

carciofi It's Mr Darcy Grin

carciofi · 14/01/2011 17:22

Colin Farrell springs to my mind first!

LetThemEatCake · 14/01/2011 17:36

Ladies may I share? So of late I have reached a weight of under 9st for the first time in my adult life, I think. Cheers Dukan, cheers Hells. Anyway, I fancied bread today and thought, come on, you can relax every so often, surely? So I bought some wheat free light rye from the local baker and made a hummus, avocado, tomato and spinach sarnie. Oh my goodness. My first bread/ sandwich since October. It was so so delicious. Really made my day.

Of course, I will now throw the rest of the loaf away lest I start dreaming of toast for brekkie tomorrow. That way madness lies.

Anyway, was so lovely and enjoyable that I had to share. Hope you don't mind Smile

Zembo · 14/01/2011 17:38

Good for your Cake Smile - also would prefer to think of you as my sis as SIL has too many negative connotations for me!

Carciofi I'd say Belstaff are true to size, I've got the Lady Jenn ones you linked to - they're fab.

carciofi · 14/01/2011 17:39

LTEC, glad you enjoyed your sandwich.

ABO, LN9Q for 15% off at Boden, I saw it on another thread.

Fritzi, you are probably right about the perforated leather. I think I will hold out until I find the Jenn boots. DD got on fine thanks, they said she enjoyed herself but she cried when I collected her. Either tiredness or she didn't want to come home!

carciofi · 14/01/2011 17:40

OK, thanks Zembo, 41 will be too big then.

traceybath · 14/01/2011 17:48

Ooooh so excited that Zembo is coming to MOAMs Smile

LTEC you must be the slinkiest of slinki malinkis Grin

DS1 just asked if he could hold his nose whilst he ate his dinner as then he wouldn't have to taste it Hmm I am so evil feeding my children salmon with rice, fennel, leeks and green beans.

Really must start diet and shredding on monday.

Hells - oh those nails sound good - will see where does them round here - thanks.

hellsbelles · 14/01/2011 17:51

Grin at DS1 Tracey

LTEC - 'wheat-free light rye'...woah there girl you really know how to cheat Grin . Glad it was so lovely though.

blossoming · 14/01/2011 17:55

Well ltec listen to this:
I was so nervous this morning before going to my teacher's training day that I forgot to pack a snack. I'd had my usual 2 shredded wheat for breakfast at 7am. Lunch in the hotel was at 12.30. I knew I'd pass out if I didn't eat anything so I had to have a biscuit at 11!
Lunch was appalling, hot buffet. Some meat? Lamb/beef stew with rice. Tough and grisly. Luckily had bread roll and cheese for afters. Got home, feeling rather week and enjoyed 2 rounds of toast with butter for the first time since November.
Oh and tonight I'm having Christmas dinner at the mum's group golf club Christmas party with karaoke. No I don't want to go. But as chair, I must. Stripey Janice and shoeboots (first outing?)
Your sandwich sounds lovely btw.
At the course one of the teachers urged me to try for a job in their school. Full time, and an hour from here over mountain roads. What to do. I would love it, in theory. 6 years at home and I'm spending £500 in a week on clothes!! I'll be selling DH next.
I loved my look today. I wish I'd painted my nails though! romanholiday (love your new name btw), here's the link to the coat: pure double breasted jacket
Hi to everyone, haven't quite caught up yet, but horrified by poo on coats story.

Bonsoir · 14/01/2011 18:11

Gosh this thread moves fast, and I have had another busy week in RL and can't keep up. Am looking forward to the meet up though!

I had to go to Hermès this afternoon, to change the battery and strap on my Cape Cod Double Tour, and while I was waiting I popped to Tod's across the street and nearly bought some of their fabulous new season ballet flats - I tell, W&A S&B girls, they are to die for: ballet flats with the signature Tod's little studs on the soles in all the colours of the rainbow (as well as gold, silver, beige and ballerina pink) and satin ribbons to tie, ballerina style, round your ankles. And the sales person told me that the way to wear them is over super skinny jeans... and that sounded so fantastic that I nearly spent EUR 375 on a pair that very second. Fortunately the sales person himself saved me, because he told me to come back in the first week of February when there would even more colours and all sorts of other fab things. And since suede ballet flats are not really terrible appropriate useful in January, he convinced me to leave the shop that instant. But I spent all afternoon fantasising about satin ballet ribbons over skinnies... Smile. And, doubtless enthused by such feminine fantasies, ended up in the lingerie department of Le Printemps where I bought a cream lace body and matching suspender belt in the La Perla sales. Which I will hide from DP until I have found some suitable stockings...

MarshaBrady · 14/01/2011 18:15

Ds2 just took his first steps! Grin Grin

Aw I just love him little sausage Grin

Bonsoir · 14/01/2011 18:19

Oh gosh Marsha! Did you shed tear?

Well done your DS2!

MarshaBrady · 14/01/2011 18:25

No I burst into spontaneous applause with my friend (at her house!). Luckily it didn't shock him. He was very pleased. Smile

I love the sound of the ballet flats with ribbons. I shall look further into those later I think!

Bonsoir · 14/01/2011 18:33

I'm sure he was very proud of himself, and so he should be - walking is a momentous achievement!

hellsbelles · 14/01/2011 19:11

Bravo little brady!

Bonsoir - I do so love the way you describe things..you make those Tods sound totally delectable.

LTEC - I'm beyond chuffed to have played a very small role in the way Dukan has got you where you want weight wise Wink - though I suspect another A&W'er would have spotted it soon enough...and I know for sure you have been a much better Dukaner than me! You've got the book haven't you? YOu are surely ready to go to the next phase now aren't you? It really does work.

roary · 14/01/2011 19:24

Marsha how exciting! How old is he again? (I think he's around the same age as mine)

Bonsoir I forgot to fill you in on the Dragon School - it is supposed to be academically quite amazing. I know some teachers there. But it's a very unique environment, for example they call female teachers Ma and male teachers Sir. It's been described to me as still really a boys' school with girls in it (by a teacher friend) but it is supposed to be great. It's very expensive compared to the other (equally good) Oxford private options, so we've never looked in to it but if they could have your DD for a year when you'd like her to go that's a different scenario!

Is anyone going to be near SLoane Sq in the late afternoon/early evening on Tuesday? THey can see me in my Jcrew dress. Hells so with you on the grumpy model pose.

Can someone relink to the red pants dress?

OllieWollieWoo · 14/01/2011 19:25

Ahh Marsha - thats lovely news. As is Zembo coming to MOAMU! Yey!

Funny re trips to Ikea Fritzi - first time ever I came away without buying anything tho (apart from muffin and 2 ice creams for DSs that is!)

I luv DH - just finished Shred and as I turned dvd off, he handed me a glass of prosecco saying it looked like I had earnt it! Not sure if he gets the gist of what I am trying to achieve but still v. sweet! (Slurp)

Mumsnut · 14/01/2011 19:31

Ma or Ma'am, Roary? I could live with the second.

Romanholiday · 14/01/2011 19:32

What's MOAMU?? I want the Tods with ribbons now. Hmm. I also want the pants dress, which is lovely, but stupidly high split for such a short dress.

I am such a porker compared to you lot. I had a pain au chocolat for breakfast with two lattes, and stoemp for lunch, with sausages and roast pork. Then because we've so little food in the house I've made meatballs and polenta for supper.

Lucky I've shredded three times......ever Blush

Congrats to mini-Brady - how cute!

Tracey that's hilarious from ds1

Llama, did your dh give you a Radley bag for Xmas?? I missed that.

redllamayellowllama · 14/01/2011 19:36

Very quickly and nervously...

On way out and not sure if outfit is a bit rubbish. DH no help - could you have a quick look at my profile? Thanks ladies.

Romanholiday · 14/01/2011 19:38

I really like it - where are you going?

some jewellery would be good too.

redllamayellowllama · 14/01/2011 19:39

Cocktails and a bit of dancing. Big necklace?

traceybath · 14/01/2011 19:39

Marsha - yeay for Master Brady Smile

Bonsoir - tods sound fab on all you tall skinny ladies. I however would look like anne widdecombe in them.

Roma - its the mother of all meet-ups Smile

Red - you look lovely - have fun!

Romanholiday · 14/01/2011 19:42

Yes - big necklace. I'm a bit crap with accessories so not sure what to advise, but I'd be trying on a few things in front of the mirror.
