it really is skanky
talk about the new underclass.
think a criminal record is obligatory.

all the material is super manky and cheap

Not all bad though. My DS lived in Primark vests etc (well not literally lived) cos they were about 10x cheaper there than anywhere else.

Have you tried pushing a pushchair round Primark - practically impossible 'cos of the clothes on the floor and the amount of people - worse queues in the one in Cardiff than outside the Petrol Stations round here today!!!!

TinyGang · 13/09/2005 13:26

I agree the shop is a total tip - but I did find a few bargains on my one and only visit. Did you go to the Southampton one WW? (r u cod?) Lol about the queues of people - ah the great british public so succinctly described! I'm afraid I tend to think that about a lot of places these days though..

Skate · 13/09/2005 13:27

Snort!

not been myself but keep planning to as everyone raves about it - bit of a snob though, is a body swerve in order?

Tinker · 13/09/2005 13:27

bought a pair of trousers for my then 7 year old. weird shape. never fitted.

Skate · 13/09/2005 13:28

ww - have you ordered boden jacket? let us know how it is if you have - am tempted

LadyTophamHatt · 13/09/2005 13:29

There's a "boutique" up the road from me that buys cheap toot from primark and the re-prices it.

For eg, those awful gypsy belt thingys, £2.99 in primark, £12.00 in dodgy boutique.

Some of the stuff they display in the window is indescribable(sp) I've never seen such utter tackiness.

If I was brave enough I get a photo if the shop window for you all to see....the place is ooooozing with style!

teeavee · 13/09/2005 13:30

hausfrau!

Aragon · 13/09/2005 13:31

Don't forget though that sometimes Primark is all that can be afforded. Money is sometimes very tight for us and I don't think twice about looking in Primark, Matalan etc when he needs new clothes. Got him a pair of jeans for £3.75 in Matalan last week.

spykid · 13/09/2005 13:32

kids jeans are great!!
adjustable waists

LIZS · 13/09/2005 13:34

WW I agree - [runs away quickly]

scotlou · 13/09/2005 13:35

I think it's the kind of shop that you need to trawl through - but you can pick up bargains. Mind you, I only ever look at the kids' stuff and I hate the way the clothes end up on the floor.

teeavee · 13/09/2005 13:35

wot do uo mewan - for the kids? i've got a winter coat I bought in primark for £15 a few years ago - it's brill. I start hyperventilating in a lot of shops these days too - H&M has the same effect, for example.
BUT, such are the perils of bargain-hunting.

wartywitch · 13/09/2005 13:36

hate all the rummaging
i wanr to see hwat htey have not rag bag around

woudl buy sttuff ofr hte dsses there htough

Agree re bargain hunting.
lots of tat and lots on the floor
I have had some lovely bargains, skirts and a coat over last few years, just need to be there on the right day!

JonesTheSteam · 13/09/2005 13:36

Don't think there's anything wrong with shopping in Primark - as long as you get there when it opens and before it looks like a jumble sale!!!!

wartywitch · 13/09/2005 13:37

and the queues
