i dont really suit winter colours, hence i bought purple a lot to moderate black ( hate chuffing brown) and i am sick of it.

there will be no more no more ever. even getting the stuff out of the loft made me sigh boredly

I got all my winter clothes out yesterday and I seem to have quite a few purple things from last year...

How about green? I bought a lovely soft green sweater and a just above the knee skirt with a similar green, cream and like a reddy colour in it. I will wear boots and tights with them.

I have also just bought a cream sweater dress to wear with leggings/tights and boots.

belgo · 20/09/2010 08:54

I was just about to mention green as well!

GinoGinelli · 20/09/2010 08:54

i like a strong teal too. i am a ( whisper) summer.
i dont suit winter. i need more brights in my range. magentas etc
yet i always plump for purple and grey

navy suits me as does bluey greens
I am sick of brown

brimfull · 20/09/2010 08:56

i love grey too

brimfull · 20/09/2010 08:56

what about the new camel

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2010 08:57

I am not buying any more black or grey. As, even though I like it, I have enough.

The brighter the better this time.

GinoGinelli · 20/09/2010 09:00

i hate the camel.
its the american tan of brown

GinoGinelli · 20/09/2010 09:00

brimfull · 20/09/2010 09:02

I like the camel
I likea nice camel on me back I do

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2010 09:04

I regret buying so much grey. Not sure why I do.

I am not buying more boots with heels. I don't wear them during the day so they look nice but sit in wardrobe too much.

Faaamily · 20/09/2010 09:07

I agree on the purple front. I buy a purple item every winter without fail and always, always end up hating it. Ditto grey.

No chunky knits. They do look lovely and cosy, but they make tall size 14 people (like moi) look enormous.

No high heeled boots unless for dressy occasions. I can't last the whole day in them, just too uncomfortable!

c0rns1lk · 20/09/2010 09:10

I want some niceinvestment cardis this year - no more florence and fred

brimfull · 20/09/2010 09:11

I want some comfy nice ankle boots as well.
dd has just bought these
not sure about teh colour

spiritmum · 20/09/2010 09:20

I love purple - it suits me. Ditto charcoal.

I don't suit warm colours and camel makes me look like a wet rag. I don't care if its luxe or classic or whatever, it has no place near my face.

Can cope with it as a bag or shoe detail though.

c0rns1lk · 20/09/2010 09:21

agree -nice style but colour doesn't do them justice
someone linked a fabulous pair of boots from plumo a while back -am still dreaming about them

SerendipityAlways · 20/09/2010 09:22

I did a clear out of my clothes recently as I m sick of buying endless tops etc that I really dont need.

I now know I need a good pair of black leather riding boots, a good pair of black trousers (for all occasions) and maybe a casual everyday dress for Winter. ALso maybe a nice tunic that does not make me look pregnant!

I am a leggings "virgin" and have just bought a pair of stretchy "Obi" leggings, which are fab and feel like you're wearing a pair of M/S opaque tights, so so comfy!!!
Otherwise I am going to try and be good and make do with what I have..mmmm. Hmm

spiritmum · 20/09/2010 09:23

Agree about the boots - kind of no man's land colour, isn't it?

Lulumaam · 20/09/2010 09:27

I am not going to buy another coat. I have too many. I have a coat for rainy days that are cold, and one for rainy days that are warm, i have a showerproof mac for in between days. i have a black funeral coat. I have a purple best coat. I have a black & white large houndstooth coat for going out. I have a gorgeous italian wool cropped jacket for when i'm feeling chic. ( not often) i have a school run coat.

No more drapey cowled sweaters either or scarves, i have 20 + scarves. i think i might have scarf OCD

and if i'm going to wear leggings, i'm going to buy proper expensive ones that don't go grey and baggy after 2 washes - any recommendations?

brimfull · 20/09/2010 09:30

agree about the scarves
I have zillions of the buggers ..and actually I don't think they suit myample norkage

spiritmum · 20/09/2010 09:37

I only suit skinny scarves. (big norks and round face)

Isn't it impossible to have too many coats?

GetOrfMoiLand · 20/09/2010 09:44

I really suit purple and grey. I live in both colours as boring corporate wardrobe.

I am NOT getting any more Ugg boots. I don't care how comfortable they are, the heels break down after 3 days and they look like shit.

I am obsessed with scarves and don't see that abating.

I am not bothering to buy a short jacket/pea coat thing. I buy one every year but ened up not wearing it as is too short (have very long body). Am sticking to long coats.

bluecardi · 20/09/2010 09:45

red is a good colour

HowsTheSerenity · 20/09/2010 09:52

I need shirts of some kind. Ones that do not stretch at the bottom when I tug them down to hide by wobbly stomach.
Any idea?

ValiumSingleton · 20/09/2010 09:52

Very pale grey with a white top/shirt underneath is nice on summer types in Winter. I think I'm autumn though. Look awful in gry.
