i dont really suit winter colours, hence i bought purple a lot to moderate black ( hate chuffing brown) and i am sick of it.

there will be no more no more ever. even getting the stuff out of the loft made me sigh boredly

camel with white and a deep burgundy is so flattering1

noddyholder · 20/09/2010 15:01

Put more blusher on and go back to black

TigerFeet · 20/09/2010 15:10

I have two pairs of suede gloves, one brown and one black, bought for me by my mum. the whereabouts of both pairs is currently unknown - dd1 has probably nicked them and stuffed them in her dressing up box

i may have to raid the butter money for a new pair

happilyeverafter · 20/09/2010 16:34

I am resolute to not buy any charcoal items as it makes me look washed out. Silvery grey and navy both suit me so I am using these as the base for my winter wardrobe.

GinoGinelli · 20/09/2010 17:30

i did try " put more fake tan and concealer on and go back to black" but i looked liek Jodie marsh

No fake tan just really good n=base and a tiny bit more blusher and v rosy lips I didn't wear black for ages and it is such a relief to be wearing it again

MrsC2010 · 20/09/2010 19:52

Anyone seen any decent polo necks? I need a black one and ideally a good navy one too.

No more brown for me (had colours done last year and am a winter or suit deep and cool colours anyway).

I am gradually re-buying basics in navy and trying grey but finding it difficult.

I am also going to try to go for more cropped clothes and less draping because I kind of get lost underneath the drapes and the waterfall stuff but it is EVERYWHERE.

PandaG · 20/09/2010 20:52

raspberry, french navy, jade, aubergine - ie very dark purple

new accessories - chunky necklaces, statement belt rather than new clothes?

PandaG · 20/09/2010 20:56

sorry - that was colour suggestions for you (note to self, read the OP)

buy yourself some new comfortable but attractive shoes - impossible but desirable!

HuckingFell · 20/09/2010 21:17

panda - lovely list of deep winter colours!

am deep winter, i love this time of year! Summer is awful but autumn and winter - so many choices!

i wear lots of charcoal, purple, teal, black , cool reds, shocking pink.

PandaG · 20/09/2010 21:27

Hucking, I'm a summer, but a deep summer, can wear the list I gave too! Black really drains me, but I love the stronger colours

SofaQueen · 21/09/2010 06:11

Unfortunately, I live in black come October and it doesn't come off until March. I've decided no more black!

I'm wearing more winter whites and buff (very light tan), and just bought this. I'm still a colourphobe, but buy bright accessories to bring them in (scarves, jewellery).

MarineIguana · 21/09/2010 08:25

I love purple, though it has to be the right purple - very dark, or else subtle and pinkish - NOT that kind of royal bright purple or washed-out looking purple.

Also I love lovely greys in winter. I like to break it up with colours though eg a bright burnt orange skirt with grey/brown tights and cardie, or layers with a pink or green top underneath the top layer. Or wear wintery coloured clothes and have bright hat, scarf and gloves.

I LOVE winter! Getting my winter stuff out always cheers me up :)

MarineIguana · 21/09/2010 08:26

Have to agree with the camel-haters though. I don't get it, it's sloppy poo brown, not "camel". It doesn't really go with anything and it must be a bastard to keep clean.

poshsinglemum · 21/09/2010 08:31

green, red, grey, navy, purple, charcoal and black loook fab. Camel=bleughr!

armbow · 21/09/2010 08:49

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa that is a gorgeous coat noddy

noddyholder · 21/09/2010 09:00

innit tho Grin

MarineIguana · 21/09/2010 09:16

That coat is gorgeous, however I would prefer it in a beautiful grey. Or purple!

niminypiminy · 21/09/2010 11:09

The colours I really love you can never find in shops... so burnt orange (absolutely nowhere this season, sob), dark red that's in no way burgundy (which has to be reddish to be any good), viridian, leaf green, french navy, flame, sunflower.

I won't be buying any camel, though, as 'tis the colour of satan.

eaglewings · 21/09/2010 11:49

never thought of buying gloves!

As my resolution is no more clothes as I don't know if I will be changing shape this winter Wink, gloves would be a great treat

now, what colour will go with my purple and black?

Niecie · 21/09/2010 11:51

niminypiminy - Love your colour (except sunflower as it just doesn't suit me)

I bought a burnt orange tank top in Sainsbury's last week. Will look good with a white shirt. Depends how burnt your like your burnt orange but I also bought an orange v neck jumper in Asda. (Trying not to spend much on clothes as I am losing weight and hopefully they won't fit next season)!

I like orange as it is a flattering alternative to red which I have much too much of already.
