i dont really suit winter colours, hence i bought purple a lot to moderate black ( hate chuffing brown) and i am sick of it.

there will be no more no more ever. even getting the stuff out of the loft made me sigh boredly

I have plenty of colleagues who wear shirts with vests over the top. They look like male geography teachers, I cannot helop but curl my lip.

AbsofCroissant · 20/09/2010 09:57

No more scarves - I too have millions, but mainly use one.

Otherwise, I'm going to dress so I don't freeze my arse off. Actually, instead, I'll just avoid going outside for about six months - that should help me avoid being cold.

Whoamireally · 20/09/2010 10:06

Am buying dark blue this year as opposed to black. Am lusting after the Boden blue patent boots for wearing with a denim skirt. I'm a ''summer'' too and black does not suit near my face. And camel makes me look like Mrs Beetroot-Head.

I despair of cream, beige, and look like a walking Christmas tree in green.

I think despite best intentions I'll probably end up sticking with my usual pinks, purples, blues and teals.

GinoGinelli · 20/09/2010 10:32

So agree with whoami. I only wear black at night with loads of slap on. Why I suddenly wear it in winter indunno. Got a nice dark blue big patent bag in gap in aug

Whoamireally · 20/09/2010 10:51

Ooooh that bag sounds right up my street

GinoGinelli · 20/09/2010 11:06

Can't get gap site to load on phone

No more jeans - I have enough for the next 5 years.

I like brown for bags/shoes but not for clothes. Love navy blue and silver grey.

GeekOfTheWeek · 20/09/2010 11:37

I am going to buy a lovely cashmere sweater. Not in black.

I have loads of black clothes and need a bit more colour in my life.

MayorNaze · 20/09/2010 11:40

i like purple. i like it a lot actually so any unwanted purple stuff, bung it my way!!

everyone is in brown this winter and that is the colour of all colours that really Does Not Suit One Angry

and don't get me started on fecking camel...Angry

MayorNaze · 20/09/2010 11:46

ah, winter resolutions...hmm...

well once again i have looked at my wardrobe and thought "dear god was i nude last year? this wardrobe is empty" but i think that at the start of every season, yet have made no nude appearances to the best of my recollection...Hmm

blue, i think. more blue. have lovely royal blue jumper dress from last year.

oh yes, and to experiment with the shorts over tights thing as well :)

MayorNaze · 20/09/2010 11:47

lulu - i found topshop leggings wash well? (god i sound like MIL talking about stuff that washes well Blush)

ginghamgiraffe · 20/09/2010 11:54

What shade of grey are you buying?

I like a charcoal but also a silvery (sportswear type!!) but in good fabrics

MaxineQuordlepleen · 20/09/2010 11:58

I just bought the most gorgeous raspberry coloured pea-coat, heavy jersey, in TK Maxx for £15! Also a lavender silk and cashmere cardi for £18 (original price £120). I love that shop (but only at 9.30 am on a Monday otherwise it's all a bit much).

TigerFeet · 20/09/2010 12:04

I love purple

all I need now is a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me

resolutions? to replace my winter coat (done, purple Grin) and boots (not yet done and unlikely to be purple), no more fecking scarves, a bit less brown

TigerFeet · 20/09/2010 12:05

i wish I could wear royal blue

it makes my skin look sallow

:(

MayorNaze · 20/09/2010 12:34

spend all your pension on gloves and say you have no money for butter Tiger Wink

i like raspberry. have got lush raspberry cardi from ebay :)

MayorNaze · 20/09/2010 12:35

actually whle we are speaking of gloves, i think i should like some nice ladylike ladies gloves. leather ones. rather like joanna lumley might wear...

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2010 12:37

the only thing I really need is in fact a scarf.

And I wish I had bought the bright plum cashmere one last year half price.

GeorginaWorsley · 20/09/2010 12:48

I own too many grey cardigans.
My trouble is as soon as I like something,I go overboard on it,hence I dplicate purchases all the time.
I like purple,all shades of grey,teal,navy,chocolate.
I don't often do black, but want some black patent riding boots and a black faux fur jacket,if I can!

Lauriefairycake · 20/09/2010 12:51

I am going to try really hard not to buy anything else

apart from maybe than nice green cardie I saw in Monsoon last week Blush

Seriously, I have more than 20 v-neck jersey dresses which I wear in winter - I need to not buy any more. I can go 6 weeks without needing to wash anything.

BikeRunSki · 20/09/2010 12:54

No more cheapo clothes. A few nice, good quality ones.

I tend to buy a lot of dark red in the winter.

squeaver · 20/09/2010 12:54

NO MORE CARDIES. And I say it every year. And then I walk into a shop, and they pull me towards them...

Niecie · 20/09/2010 13:03

I love purple too. It has been a good friend since navy has been out of favour for a while and I can't wear black near my face - too harsh near my paleish skin tones. Also don't wear grey - reminds me of school uniforms and doesn't seem to suit many people.

Don't mind brown so long as it is a rich chesnut or chocolate brown. Don't want mud brown! Camel is a bit close to beige but OK up the caramel end of the spectrum. Probably won't bother with it.

Teal green or dark turquoise nice, but I have just realised I have just broken my winter resolution by buying a dark turquoise plan v neck jumper last week.

I have too many plain v-neck t-shirts and jumpers. They are in a variety of colours, granted but I need more shirts or cardies for a bit of variety. All this plainess is a bit dull even with a variety of beady necklaces.

I have too many woolly scarfs so don't need any more of those but am currently knitting or about to knit at least 3 of those. Blush

Purple was a big colour last year which may explain why you have so much of it?

My weaknesses are cardigans and coats - have waterproof warm coat, down jacket, wool coat for work which I can wear a jacket under, more casual wool coat, moleskin coat, trench.... so I mustn't really buy any more coats even though I'd love a peacoat and also have fallen in love with this one from J Crew: here, even though this rather murky khaki shade probably isn't really me (I'm assuming as a slightly lighter-skinned Chinese woman with black hair and brown eyes, I'm probably a classic Winter person).

I've also decided I NEED a black crew neck cardy (my old M&S one is looking tatty) - so I'll hang out to see what J+ range at Uniqlo comes up with as their merino and cashmere is lovely - and I'm always a sucker for nice neat knitwear to wear with trousers for work - however aside from this, will try to avoid adding to the otherwise bulging knitwear drawer - although I'd love a warm cosy "about home" cardigan to schlep around in (mm I think I'm not really talking myself into this). I wear lots of black, grey, blue (all shades) and have a weakness for green although it is probably not really my colour. I have no brown at all in my winter wardrobe (a wee bit in my summer wardrobe) - is this unusual? Maybe I need to branch out....

Lulumaam · 20/09/2010 14:39

thanks for the tip mayornaze Smile

that went well, bought a (gooorgeous, cynthia rowley 70s esque ) scarf in t k maxx, so that was oooooh, almost 2 hours without buying a scarf
