I have a lot of black clothes. I wear them in winter and summer - I can't afford to buy clothes I only wear half the year.
I have black vesty tops which I wear with 3/4 length shirts, and if it's cold a jacket or my only coat (bought for me when I was 16 - I've never bought myself a coat). I have jeans and skirts for my bottom half, and for my top half wear whateve colour I feel like on a particular day. I have a lot ofmuted greens and browns (I like those colours and they suit me), with purples, reds and blues for when I fancy a change.
I find that mixing and matching makes your wardrobe accesible all year round, and sill allows for a varied appearance.
It's been a nightmare for me being pregnant - I had to go out and buy five tops to have on rotation as my clothes didn't fit, and a few pairs of trousers. I currently have two pairs of too-short black jogging bottoms, a pair of jeans, a pair of capris and a long skirt which fit my lower half. I have about ten tops which fit me, three are long sleeved, and on one of those the sleeves are too short.
I can't say I've ever really understood people having a 'summer' wardrobe and a 'winter' wardrobe, aside from a few rollneck tops or something.
Sorry, this is probably coming across as arsey and it isn't. I just genuinely don't know how I would afford to buy clothes more than once or twice a year. Aside from pregnancy necessities, I can't remember the last time I bought myself clothing.
