Umm why do you all hate Crocs so much?

Are they never acceptable? Even the Mary Jane ones. I have two pairs and I love them and they go with everything (Black and Bronze).

I am starting to feel a little self conscious about them now though as they seem to be so despised here on MN.

Have even name changed for this thread.

You see?

I knew Crocs were evil.

They turn any thread bad Grin

daisystone · 16/08/2010 17:38

Off you go then.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 16/08/2010 17:59

I think it is perfectly possible to be a person who cares what they look like, but also sometimes to just want to wear comfortable shoes.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 16/08/2010 18:01

I also think it's quite healthy to not care what you look like sometimes, just as it is healthy to care what you look like at other times.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 16/08/2010 18:04

Lastly, I like FitFlops because they have given me the arse of Claudia Schiffer. Fact.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 16/08/2010 18:05

Give it back to her at once!

usualsuspect · 16/08/2010 18:06

Lol at crocs rage ..

Jamieandhismagictorch · 16/08/2010 18:07

Fanjo - my need is greater than hers ....

bibbitybobbityhat · 16/08/2010 18:07

I don't like crocs, I think they are very ugly. I even wish my children didn't wear them.

However, I love the way you have made your point on this thread hmc.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 16/08/2010 18:09

I wear fitflops and still have the arse of the Michelin Man!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 16/08/2010 18:10

(if that gets quote of the week I will die)

Jamieandhismagictorch · 16/08/2010 18:12

(I haven't really got the arse of Claudia Schiffer. And I'd love to be Quote of The Week.)

I also like hmc's style. Though not necessarily her crocs

SoupDragon · 16/08/2010 18:28

one sweeping judgement based on appearance that I am happy to make is that croc wearers and non wearers alike can be bitchy as hell. :o

Kewcumber · 16/08/2010 22:50

GOML - but do NEw Look do a Size 9E?

Also (and I know this sounds ridiculous but I have very soft feet and most shoes give me blisters. On top of that I have chronic inflamed achilles tendons so can;t haveshoes which press on them (ouchy ouch ouch) and bad knees so no heels.

Yes I am every bit as much of a crock (see what I did there croc/crock - geddit?) as I sound.

Still love my ugly crocs - am glad I am old confident enough to not give a shit if people are judging me for it...

Mspontipine · 16/08/2010 23:47

Crocs are fab - dead comfy :)

Perfect when it's really hot. Perfect if it suddenly rains.

Not really very good in the snow. I got wet socks Grin

piprabbit · 17/08/2010 00:02

I am feeling inspired to go and buy some new crocs to add to my nice red pair (beachwear and slippers ATM), in colours that I may just wear out and about.

Frumpy - tick
Messy - tick
Lack of sex - tick
Big, hurty feet - tick

I am obviously exactly the sort of person who should wear crocs more often - as anyone judging me is probably getting exactly the right message.

BollockBrain · 17/08/2010 10:55

To while away the time sitting in the airport lounge, we always play 'spot the croc family'.

If you can spot the whole family in them you win.

SpringHeeledJack · 17/08/2010 11:36

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 17/08/2010 11:58

I attempted crocs for gardening/chicken keeping purposes. The chickens pecked my feet through the holes and my feet got covered in mud. The crocs (well, cheapy copies) went to that great shoe pile in the sky.
