Bit of background: 40 a day rollie smoker. I quit smoking for three days using a 'poverty vape' (crap £20 stick) and then moved on to a bigger kit (eVic mini) where I quit for three weeks. Went back to smoking just because of who I am as a person (idiot) and today picked up the new Aspire Plato with lots of 6mg juice to try again. This time it's in preparation to try to conceive again next year. Ashamed to say I smoked through both previous pregnancies and although both DD's are fine, I never want to be that person again.

Hoping with support from vapers I can really do this. It helps that this kit is pretty (rose gold) and expensive so I need to get value from the expense as well as working toward a goal.

Currently vaping 6mg 50/50 or 40/60 juice in a variety of sweet, dessert flavours.

Any advice?

You may find that if you were on 40 rollies a day, 6mg juice is nowhere near strong enough - I was on 30 pre-mades a day & managed with 18mg. I gather that 18mg minimum is recommended to start with for anyone on over 20 fags a day.

My local vape shop doesn't do the premium juices in anything over 6mg. So far it's been fine. I'm fairly continuously on the thing but no cravings for a cigarette and I haven't smoked in over thirteen hours. That's the most I've gone in a VERY long time.

Will 18mg blow my head off on a sub ohm? I could order some online to try and if it's too much, will mixing it with 6mg just make it worse or will I need to mix it with 0mg juice?

I wasn't thinking last night that of course with sub-ohming you can go for much lower nicotine levels (blame it on a late night & mind on Cats!).

There's two coils in the Plato box, a mouth to lung and a direct to lung. Is the direct to lung one I'm currently using not sub ohm?

I've just been told because I'm vaping 50/50 it's too much for sub ohming and I need a higher VG content. Will this be harmful? I've got four 30ml bottles of 50/50 juice & I can't afford any more for 2 weeks

Upping my water intake today hoping it'll help. I'm going through a lot of juice (16mg in 13 hours, haven't refilled the tank yet today but will need to in about an hour, I think). How much did you all go through when you first began vaping exclusively?

So just over one tank? How often do you use it?

I'm hoping my juice consumption will settle down as the cravings become less. I'm also looking in to making my own. We're not destitute but we're far beyond the situation where I can spend £25-30 on juice a week.

Hi all, just wanted to come here and say it's been SIX MONTHS since I've quit the fags due to vaping! Didn't get on with it at first so was dual fuelling for about a year beforehand. Getting a good kit really helped, as did reading a lot of the advice on here.So, wanted to say thanks, everyone, I've been a smoker for 30 years, tried and failed to quit so many times, never thought I'd manage to do it, but I have!😁

Regina, I mix my own juice. It works out much much cheaper. Not sure how the new tpd regulations will affect mixing though (I currently use 72mg nic, diluted to 9 or 12mg)

Please can someone explain in simple terms about variable battery? My new shiny has a variable from 3.2 - 4.8, what am I best vaping at? (Clueless over here!)

I bought an e leaf istick 30w sub ohm new nautilus tank and a nautilus 5ml tank . have tried it for 1 days and didnt like it..
It made me feel really nauseous and gave me a sore throat .. however I think its put me off smoking .. ( that was over 2 weeks ago and the whole thought of smoking now makes me feel sick).. . So that was expensive mistake ( or a good cure.. im not sure) .

do you think its worth putting it on ebay ? they dont seem to go for much ..

I was on 30 a day. I'm still vaguely "want a cig" but I just keep vaping (constantly)
Not entirely sure how work will go tomorrow and whether to take my cigs or not...
