As the old one is nearly full!

All & any vaping chat welcome.

No question is too daft to ask. We've all been there at the start of vaping in the minefield that it is.

Only rule is: No Willy Waving!!

Fraid so, these things shouldn't be marketed as starter kits IMHO.

tshirtsuntan · 06/01/2016 21:38

Hi all, am new to vaping but totally converted (so far Grin) started Christmas eve and haven't smoked since (20 a day Marlboro light habit) I have the blu starter set with 18 mg tobacco flavour, it says I need to change the"clearomiser" every 10 refills but I'm not sure what that bit is?? Also wondering if the flavour is closest to actual tobacco? Any advice appreciated, thanks .

Hi polter thanks for replying the kit is www.blucigs.co.uk/united-kingdom/kits/pro-kits also wondering if you can use different branded liquids or if you have to use the same ones? Wish I'd done this years ago Smile

BeezerBubble · 06/01/2016 23:25

Hi tshirtsuntan the clearomizer is this bit in pic and to be honest if you'd started years ago this is the same kit that was state of the art then.
Still, if you like it and it keeps you from smoking what's not to like.
You can't change coils or wash it out so you'll need to buy more clearomizers, same as what you have.
You can use any eliquid from any supplier, strengths are all pretty standard but I gave up the quest for the perfect tobacco years ago, nothing tastes like burning vegetation so I mainly vape fruit and sweet flavours now.
If you fancy upgrading to more economical and modern gear then either the Innokin endura t18 or an Eleaf istick and subtank mini is probably the way to go. Innokin for fill and push the button, Eleaf and subtank if you want to experiment with power settings etc..
Hope this helps.

Thanks, it's early days and I'm just glad to be off fags at the moment! This was an impulse buy from sainsburys so I'll see how easy it is to pick up the replacement bits and take it from there for now.

On day 2 and half and I'm very suprised yesterday I missed 13 fags and smoked 8.
I have already dropped my first and last fag as it was cold out and sitting inside vaping was more appealing.
I did find yesterday when I had my first fag of the day it gave me awful head rush and I felt really quite bad after and needed to sit down immediately after.

Is there any vape sticks on the market that can be plugged into the mains rather than a pc?
Also I'm starting to look into Macbeth some kit with better battery's. Any recommendations? I'm not making huge plumes of smokes as I'm taking quite small 5 second light draws?

Allergictoironing · 07/01/2016 07:45

You can get mains plugs that you can attach the usb cable to.

However be VERY careful that you buy one from a proper e-cig shop that says specifically that it's for e-cigs - if you use a generic one or your mobile phone/iPad/Kindle plug then these output the charge at a faster rate than most e-cigs can cope with, which could lead to the battery catching fire or even exploding!

magimedi · 07/01/2016 08:17

Eleaf Istick for battery & mini nautilus is one of the most popular bits of kit. I've had mine for a year & love it.

This is an old link & I suspect the price has changed but it shows you a picture:

Fab thanks! I've heard lots about them and think the battery life will be superb on them. They look kinda scary compared to what I have. But I would love to treat myself soon.

Macbeth on my last post should read A BETTER KIT! Damn auto correct!

TotalConfucius · 07/01/2016 08:35

Hi all.
Haven't checked in for aaaaages!
No idea if those who started vaping around the same time as me are still around?

I'm at 13 weeks now!
Over new year I reflected on a number of things that had changed during 2015 - but I NEVER imagined the smoking would be one of them!

magimedi · 07/01/2016 08:42

Well done on 13 weeks, Total.

Snowy I thought Macbeth was wrong Grin

The eleaf kit is not scary at all - in fact it's much easier to fill etc than many others. Do not overtighten anything is the golden rule as it is well made & if you overtighten you will have trouble undoing!

Here's a link to a post with lots of stuff about the kit:

Aargh yes a mini nautilus not a sub tank mini, nothing with sub in it.

Dontneedausername · 07/01/2016 10:00

I have a sub tank which I do enjoy, but it's definitely not for new vapers. Best off with the istick/mini nautilus combo :)

Noideawhatusernametouse · 07/01/2016 10:30

Thanks for your replies.

Yes, it's a sub, and it's an addition, I've been vaping for almost a year, off cigs completely for over a fortnight. I usually use bullets 70/30 in it, I just tried a cheaper juice on a whim but it has an almost chemical taste on the exhale. It seems to have burnt off with the bulletsberg thank God, I was getting concerned as I put my last coil in Monday night and thought I'd have to put up with the taste until tomorrow!

I had no idea about the steeping so thanks for that. I prefer the hit the Rof gives me but I do have a stick vape for out and about so I'll leave it a couple of weeks then try it in that :)

nevergettime · 07/01/2016 17:17

Total is that you ??? It's never here. I'm still totally off the stinkies as well. Can't believe it's 3 months - got through christmas and new year without thinking about it Smile. Reckon we've cracked it now - well done. tshirt keep going, it's so worth it. I've got a couple of kangertech evod 2's for 'keeping on me at all times' and an eleaf istick 30w with a mini nautilus for when I need a 'good vape' Does me great !!!

nevergettime · 07/01/2016 17:24

snowy - good for you too. The kits I've just mentioned are really good I think. Kept me well away from tobacco anyway. They both come with mains chargers. Might seem a big outlay but they cost less than a few packets of fags. That's how I looked at it anyway and now I have saved a fortune despite the initial outlay.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 07/01/2016 20:36

Ooh I can post my plug picture again Grin

To be on the safe side, the numbers on the mains plug should be:

Output DC 5.0 V, 500mA (sometimes written as 0.5A)

Allergictoironing · 07/01/2016 22:17

Got an email today from OnePoundLiquid - apparently they are now doing a range of sub-ohm juices 70/30 VG/PG Grin

Snowyxmastree · 10/01/2016 11:33

Been vaping since Tuesday and am shocked how much I've cut down! It's really working.
Been gradually reducing the stinkies and am down to 5 from about 20. And have cut the first and last as was getting incredible head rush.

I can honestly say I didn't have much willpower as one night just thought to myself ooh I think I might start vaping.

I've gotta say all the flavours from the £1 place that was recommended are very nice apart from tobacco.
